We hadn't been to Amaroni's Little Italy for a decade so I was glad that my friend chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday on a Sunday night. As we were in a reminiscing mood, we liked the homey and jovial atmosphere with many picture frames hanging on the wall and the familiar stacks of self-serve plates and water pitcher on the table. While we were promptly served with a basketful of bread and a plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, we greedily looked forward to a night full of carbohydrates and BIG PORTIONS. For the six of us, we began with Smoked Duck Breast with Fresh Mango Salad. The smoked duck breast looked and tasted all right. Then we had the traditional Spaghetti Meatballs which had a very solid tomato sauce base sans herbs. The third dish, Table-size Portobello Mushroom Pizza with truffle sauce, arugula, and pesto sauce was impressively big although it was a bit oily. Finally when we were quite full came the tender and juicy Chicken Marsala with Mushrooms. We ordered cocktails toward the end of meal and got a complimentary Bread Pudding for the birthday girl. Essentially, this was the place for hearty American-Italian meals and they were best shared with friends and family. 又約朋友聚會,有十個人咁多,到此餐廳最適合不過,因為碟碟都大大份,如和老公两人來,就不適合了。此餐廳佈置好歐陸式,楼底高,令人感覺好舒服,天花吊燈大大把,好典雅。雖然只是晚上七點,但已有好多客人。每張枱都用白紙鋪上面,奇怪是每張枱都有一叠碟,連二人枱都有七、八隻。莫非侍應想偷賴費事幫食客換碟,所以一早放在枱上。 人齊了,例牌送一大籃包上枱,加一碟橄欖油和黑醋, 除蒜蓉包外,其他包都麻麻地,如把包包焗一下就perfect 了。我們自攜紅酒, 開瓶費$100,不算貴。炸洋蔥絲,好大碟,88元,好脆但好熱器,甜甜地,但不覺是洋蔥。炸魷魚,198元。還以為好大碟魷魚,原來有一件法包放在鱿魚底下的。吃時榨少少檸檬汁放在魷魚上,再放少少番茄汁,味道一流,不覺油膩。意大利火腿啤梨,95元。火腿不太咸,配上超甜啤梨,味道又好夾喎。鮮芒果煙鴨胸沙律,178元。芒果好甜,鸭胸 肉嫩。經典薄餅,218元。好大塊,故意放條匙羹在側面作比較,分成12塊,薄餅底,超脆,雖然芝士略少,但都好好食。女士殺手,甜品到。Tiramisu 98 元,又是大大份,好creamy, 有少少酒味,不腻。麵包布甸,85 元,熱熱地,好香玉桂味,似是濕咗的麵包,但外層有硬硬地的口感。鮮芒果奶凍,80 元。好有奶味,芒果鮮甜,口感又似芒果布甸,好好味。 繼續閱讀

假日和朋友聚會,一行六人來到預訂了的意大利餐廳。甫入內看到裝修及環境甚具氣氛,我們被領到略高一點的區域。桌上一籃麵包,和一碟意大利醋和檻欖油,大家分著吃,麵包不是軟軟的,富有質感,我喜歡像薄餅的那一種,鹹鹹香香。不過六人一籃包,侍應沒有主動為我們添包,不過我們也沒在意,選了餐便談天說地起來。因為經過看見每碟食物甚具份量,所以我們只點了四款食物,包括薄餅,長通粉,前菜和豬扒。另外以每杯$38元點了紅、白酒。最先來的前菜啤梨和風乾火腿$98相對其他菜來說份量算適量,啤梨夠熟甜,配火腿的鹹香很不錯。👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻最想吃的薄餅來了,非常巨型呢!雖然芝士不太多,但味道不錯,而餅底比較軟林,因此大家都愛吃較邊較脆的位置。欖油長通粉忘了拍照,記得賣相不太吸引,但具意大利風味,Al dente,一大盆最後也吃剩餘。最後朋友點的炭燒豬扒算是唯一失色的地方,不像炭燒之餘,豬扒粗嚡無味,像在吃烚豬扒😑雖則如此,整體還是不錯,食物份量大,環境有氣氛,價錢亦很相宜,每人不到二百元,就這樣過了一個開心的下午。 繼續閱讀
