Wanted to try 肉骨皇 after seeing the positive comments. Service was good, the waitress was very attentive and polite. Two of us ordered a 肉骨 soup , a pomelo and shrimp salad, and a hainan chicken rice. The salad was flavorable, but the size was pretty small and there was way too much dressing in it. Then came the famous 肉骨 soup, although there were generous spareribs in the soup, but the soup tasted very flat and light, not authentic at all comparing to the Malaysian 肉骨soup which is suppose to have a strong herbal taste and meat flavor, disappointing. Then came the hainan chicken rice, also a disapointment; the rice was not fragrant at all, and the chicken meat was pretty rough, although the 3 dipping sauces were nice.  Not planning to return again.

I am a big fan of YA KUN in Singapore, everytime I go to Singapore I will make sure I have Ya Kun kaya toast and their barley drink for a few times during my stay. Since Ya Kun has opened in TST, there seems to be a lot of negative comments about it, but I still really wanted to try it out by myself. So after I recently found out there is a new outlet in CWB, I went to try it out right away.

Location was bad, you won't really see it if you don't go look out for the outlet intentionally, it is on the 2nd floor of a commercial building.

3 of us went there this past Sunday afternoon, it was not crowded and there were still tables available. We ordered 2 Kaya toast with butter, a barley drink and a hot milk tea. We waited 15 mins and food was not ready yet. The first thing that arrived was my barley drink. The drink tasted about the same as the one in Singapore, although the size was much smaller and with a bit too much ice in it. While we were waiting for our food and drinks, a lady cancelled her orders and asked for a refund because of the long wait.After about another 5 mins, the toasts came in 2 separate plates. One plate looked normal, while the other plate looked quite burned. The toasts felt slighlty warm but did not felt like it just came out of the toaster, I guess they were sitting on the counter for a while before delivery. The plate that looked normal actually tasted a bit staled, the bread wasn't crunchy at all. The other plate that is burned tasted more crunchy, but it got the burned taste!. The Kaya toasts did not have enough Kaya jam on it and only a very small amount of butter on it. It was nothing similar compared to the original Kaya toast in Ya Kun Singapore.  I was totally disappointed by their toasts. The milk tea came last after 20mins from the ordering time, it tasted ok. We did not try out other dishes.

Will not visit the HK outlets again, can't wait to visit Ya Kun Singapore!

Heard a lot of great comments on this steak house in Paris so I really wanted to try this new outlet in HK. Three of us went for lunch on a Saturday.Atmosphere was ok, waitresses were polite, table was really small though.There were no menu provided as there were no choices to offer. You can only order the salad + steak set + bread.

Salad's portion was small, dressing was very sour. Bread does not feel very fresh, should be better if served warm.

Steak was very tough and without beef taste. I ordered medium rare, but the meat is super tough even though it was not over-cooked. I did not find the steak sauce very special, it was very greasy.

Me and my daughter were not able to finish our steaks as it tasted very greasy and tough, so we asked the waitress to help us to pack the unserved portions, as we did not want to waste the food. The waitress decline my request and said they do not allow customers to take home the leftovers....strange. So we ended up leaving half of our dishes untouched.

Price HK$288 per set is not expensive for a French steak house but it is definitely not worth for this HK outlet as the quality of food is totally disappointing. 

Had dim sum lunch with my family, my first time at this restaurant. Decoration was nice but the tables were a bit crowded together. The place was full at around 1pm. Service was ok but seems like the numbers of waiters/waitresses were not enough.

The dim sum were above average, we ordered many dishes including 𧎚餃, 燒賣, 叉焼包, 野菌脆腸粉, 椒盬白飯魚, 煎蘿蔔榚, 翠肉瓜炒野菌, 上湯豆苗 and they were all delicious, but the 鮑汁雞腳was not soft enough and too salty.
We also ordered 臘味sticky rice, which was yummy and not too oily.

For dessert, we ordered a few dishes to share, the 馬拉榚was very tasty and soft, and the 流沙包, 蓮蓉焗布甸were good, but 芝麻布甸was a bit bitter.

The bill was just a bit over $600 or $100 a person, which was very reasonable.
Overall it was Good food for value!

Food was OK but Service at this restaurant was surprisingly disappointing!

3 of us went there to have dinner on Father's Day. We arrived around 6:35pm and there were only 3 tables with customers as it was still relatively early. I placed my order around 6:40-6:45pm for around 10 dishes. The food was served slowly and I needed to chase after the waiters for the rice and noodle that I ordered after the main bbq dishes started to arrive.

The time that they served the bbq dishes was very inconsistent, the first dish arrived about 15mins after I ordered, then we have to wait for another 10mins for the other dishes to start arriving. By the time they were serving my 5th dish, which was around 7:40, the restaurant was already full. By around 7:50, I started to chase for the last 3 dishes that have not arrived yet, and I noticed that some other customers were also chasing after their orders. The food was ok, though some dishes were a bit salty.

By 7:50, which is more than an hour since I placed orders, I decided not to wait for the last 3 dishes that have not arrived. I told one of the waiter I am not waiting anymore and ask him to please cancel the order. The waiter looked disappointed and yelled out loud to the bbq counter to stop the orders for my table, and then just walked away. Up to this point, there was not a single apology from any waiter about the delay of my dishes. I do believed that I have pretty good EQ by not complaining about the bad service.

I then asked for my bill and a waiter came back with my bill after around 5 minutes. I therefore checked the bill by items because I need to make sure the cancelled items are not being charged. As soon as I started to check on the bill, the waiter just walked away.
After the checking the bill, I then gave my credit card and bill to one of the waiter. After about another 7-8 minutes, I waited patiently and the credit card invoice is still not ready. A waiter then came by and said the line/machine with the credit card company is working very slowly, I need to wait longer. I therefore asked him why everything is so slow at this restaruant, I actually asked him in a good manner. He became angry and raised his voice at me and said this is not their fault, is the credit card machine that is slow. I was so suprised about his attitude and then I told him if it is not their problem, is that my problem then? He said I could give him another card and it may turn out faster. It seems that I was the one that delayed the issue because of the card I gave him! I was becoming annoyed as his attitude was bad. I told him I have been waiting for more than an hour for some of my dishes, and after I chased and cancelled the orders, I did not even get an apology from any of them. He said "I told you they are still cooking your dishes" you could have waited for them to come. Is not our fault! I told him then it must be my fault to have picked this restaurant then! He just stepped away and came back with my credit card invoivce after another few minutes. I signed the bill, of course, without giving any tips. He then took away the bill without say thank you...as expected. This has been one of my worst dinning experience, will never go to this restaurant or any of its branches again

It's my holiday so I wanted to try this restaurant for lunch, thought it would be easier to get a table since it is almost passed lunch time. I have always wanted to try this place out because I am a big fan of Hainan Chicken Rice. I had the chicken rice at the Mandarin in Singapore a few times and I think it is superb!

So we arrived at Hainan Shaoye around 1:30, there were 2 people waiting in line. We waited for about 15mins eventhough the lineup was short, I just thought that the place must be packed because it was lunch time. When we entered the restaurant, there were about 2 more empty tables, as some other people commented, they make the customers to lineup to make an illusion to others that the place is packed!

We ordered 2 chicken rice set and the arrived in about 5 mins. I could tell that this chicken rice is not the same as the one in Chatterbox! The rice was a total disaster! It was very soft and very salty! I could taste the same aroma that the Mandarin chicken rice had! And why would they put soy sauce in the chicken?? The chicken is not very tender and the taste is not specially fresh! The 3 dipping sauces are not very tasty as well! This $88 rice set is even worst than a normal 茶餐 restaurant's chicken rice!!

Don't be fooled! Definitely nothing close to the Singapore Mandarin Hotel's yummy chicken rice. No need to try!
