Nice birthday dinner
I chose to sit outside and near inside door in order to get more air-con in case it's hot at night, finally, the weather is cool and we feel comfortable. May be the seaview is not as good as daytime, but it's peaceful with some gentle live band.
For the food, it's quite difficult to decide as we want to try more but large portion is our consideration. Anyway, we ordered
1.Tomato bread - toast with homemade tomato salad, fresh and is a good starter
2. A starter with GooseLiver CreamBrulee, Mango chicken roll, broad bean fried cake - what a surprise, creambrulee with liver taste, chicken roll with mango, mashed broad bean, all make me feel strange before, but praise after.
3. Suckling pig - spanish style, crispy, good taste and with a lot of fried potato chip cut into long pieces, really good to try another texture
4. Penne Rigate - it's a nice clam penne, which is the one replace our another large portion choice (seafood risotto)
5. Chocolate tatre(chocolate pudding) - ordered with birthday writing when reserving table, it's different from what we had from another restaurant, it's like a hot soft chocolate cake with crispy surface, but also nice especially when got it from live band with 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'
During the dinner, the live band would approach each table to be ordered a few favourate songs, it's relaxing without disturbing feeling

Romantic night in Stanley
Anyway, the waiter led us to a table near the window. We ordered 2 glasses of juices: one is mango, the other is kiwi fruit.

A wonderful begining
Restaurant with nice view
Around sunset, we walked in the restaurant without any booking but we were so lucky to get a window side table on the weekend evening. Thanks to the arrangement from the waitress, all happened as if it is meant to be.
As it was our first time visiting a spanish restaurant, and actually our very first time, it took sometime to study the menu. Nonetheless, the waiter (whose face looks like Joe Jr.
We ordered:
During the dinner, there was a live band stopped by and offer us music. It sounds nice and special but we would rather have some conversations, therefore we turned them down nicely.
It was such a decent and romantic restaurant. Eventhough it was the peak moment of the restaurant when we almost finish but we were not urged to leave. When we walked out the restaurant the moon was so bright and round that we would never forget! The night marked our history.

Overpriced Unauthentic Tapas Sunday Brunch
I am not really sure where all these positive reviews are coming from, or maybe I just happened to have gone to the restaurant on the wrong day at the wrong time.
My friend had come over from Boston to visit for a few days, so in an attempt to show him the beautiful Stanley area and dine at a good restaurant with a good view for a Sunday brunch, I suggested to have Spanish with him at the Murray Building.
I was a bit disppointed to see that the previous Spanish restaurant (El Cid?) had been changed to Mijas, the decor of which resembles very much like a typical Sunday brunch place with its crisp white table clothes, high celings, open kitchen, and (overly) white, modern surroundings -- elegant and upscale, but totally UN-Spanish.
That was ok, as the balcony was nice and we were there for the food, not the decor, so we sat down and looked at the menu. Everything a la carte was EXPENSIVE. Even the most basic tapas was around 80HKD, and the less basic ones like chorizo were above 100HKD! I kept re-browsing the menu to check if I had mislooked at the main course column, but no, these were tapas, tiny dishes that you're supposed to pick at least a few. The mains were easily above 180 HKD and the paellas were 330 HKD each (even Ole in Central charges only 300 HKD, so Mijas was 10% more expensive)!
Anyhow, since it was only brunch and I wasn't looking to spend more than 200 HKD per person just for 4-5 miniature dishes that would leave us hungry after the meal, we decided to do what everyone else in the restaurant did - the amazing "Tapas Brunch". At 178 HKD/ person, it was reasonably priced had they offered a good variety of tapas. The brunch also included a a main dish (we could choose from 1 out of their list of steak, seafood paella, grilled fish, etc), which looked quite sophisticated and a bargain compared to the a la carte. So we finally decided to do that.
We then left the table and ventured out to the buffet table to check out their selection of "tapas". Aside from the somewhat decent platter of honey dew melons and hams (which were actually quite dried up and you could probably get better stuff at any park n shop deli), and the somewhat decent variety of cakes and desserts (which I wouldn't eat anyways cuz i don't like desserts), some soggy grayish squid-looking dish that somewhat resembles fried calamari but might have been fish, some mixed salads that you could have found in a pizza hut, some depressingly dried-looking sardines, the tapas buffet was a dismal attempt to fill up the long table with filler foods that do not look anything like tapas dishes. Where are the olives? What about bruchettas? All you need are cheap ingredients- tomatoes, baguette slices, some olive oil and spices. And why were all the "tapas" cold dishes? Why are they all salads? Where are the signature chorizo slices (oh! those are so expensive they can't serve that for the buffet!!), or the sirloin cubes, or spicy chicken strips? seared tuna ? I think I saw some aubergine, but it looked so dry and unappetizing I didn't have any. We could have left after the browsing, but since we were already so far into the game, we decided to stick with it. What a mistake.
The main dish was the only high point in the meal (and the guitar band that came out in the middle of our meal I suppose) - I ordred the Seafood Paella (which was a whopping 330HKD if you ordered a la carte as mentioned above, but then the brunch portion was probably 1/4 the regular size and came on a white plate instead of those aweomse metal paella pans) and I devoured it instantly, already pissed that I came here for tapas and ended up just casually stuffing myself with their dried out serrano slices that I served myself on that drab ceramic white plate.
My friend ordered a Sirloin Steak and asked for well-done, but after being suggested to order medium-well, he ordered that instead. The steak actually turned out pretty good, except it was actually oozing out blood. I normally wouldn't mind that myself cuz I like my steaks done medium rare, but that medium well was more like steak tartar for my friend who normally likes his meat cooked.
Lastly to round up the meal, I had ordered a hot tea and my friend got a coffee. My tea cup arrived with gray dust and dried gunk stuck to its inner walls so I had to request for an immediate change of cups.
The bill came to about 440 HKD for 2 people, and seiorusly, for 220 HKD per person you can easily easily get better food down at the pub and restaurant strip by the Stanley esplanade at half the price.
Anyways, with all the previous positive reviews I don't think this single one I am writing will sway any potential customers from thinking otherwise, but seriously, if you're looking for a Spanish restaurant with authentic dishes, with a good variety charged a reasonable price, you should just go to Ole, Rico's or Tapeo. Much much better food there. And if you want to find a nice restaurant in Stanley with a good view, there are a ton others to choose from and Mijas should be the last on your list.

正正因為咁就令我諗番起1月去呢間餐廳嘆tea~~
可能係因為個景! 真係可以令所有野都變得美好!
我比較喜歡甜品, 超級朱古力迷!
點左個朱古力軟心蛋糕... umm... 其實都ok o既~
只係我唔鍾意佢有d almond伴碟 (逼住又要食埋...)
不過有得望住個海食真係正到暈!!!
有多餘時間的話下次都會黎!
就咁叫杯野飲望下個海都好~!

環境唔錯,不過雞奕好多毛
我地入去,被安排坐露台邊既位置,望到個海,但係個日又落雨又凍,凍到變雪條,所以我地坐番入面.
1.)唔知咩包
個包最好味,但係份量細,d菜有小小乾.

夠熱,但偏咸, 雞奕好多毛毛毛毛毛!!!
4.) 甜品拼盤
有五種不同甜品,有薄荷葉奶奶地味個個又滑又香甜最好味,其他都好味同香滑.

感覺寫意
沒有太陽的中午,天色陰暗,不過坐在室外地方還是感覺幾寫意。
Set lunch都有幾個組合。既然專登到來,就要齊頭盤、主菜及甜品。
先來幾個粟米包。相當香,熱辣辣又鬆軟好食。以為是餐廳自己做的,侍應坦白說是Delifrance交來。
我要的是日餐湯,是相當濃的洋蔥湯。大塊面包浸在裏面,又有臘腸,有強烈的芝士煙肉味道。
相對上她的西班牙風腿伴蜜瓜就味道顯得清淡一些。火腿略帶鹹味,不過分,與同樣不太甜的蜜瓜又配得幾好。
主菜我選了西班牙雞扒海鮮焗飯。雞扒及大蝦、青口等海鮮都普普通通,微辣,飯不立口,沒有什麼特色。
她的羊肉薯角較佳。薯角即炸起,外脆內軟,很好食。羊肉夠軟腍,配creamy的汁也不錯。個人口味只嫌沒有臊味。
一熱一冷的甜品:意式燉蛋及巴菲就更令我倆滿意。
燉蛋有薄脆的焦糖覆蓋,燉蛋本身滑滑而不太甜。
巴菲的味道則似鳥結糖,同樣不太甜,又有脆花生和果仁,甚合心意。
餐飲要熱咖啡,濃滑不澀。
上菜安排好,一樣跟一樣慢慢的送上。服務亦要讚一讚,幾位侍應都有禮又主動。雖然食物不算很突出,不過令人滿足的離開。

Very Impressed!
A four course set for $150 on a holiday, accompanied with spectacular sea view is really quite good value. Environment is just superb when its sunny with some wind. Service is decent, not bad but not special - still, a highly recommended place.

先試類似墨魚圈既東西..很不幸,第一樣就係最場最差既,腥得很,餘下全數送給媽媽
青口就像是普普通通既青口,沒有特別之處,都是不太喜歡的
雞肉是緊隨墨魚圈既最差之物,非常嚡,非常乾身又無味,極度不新鮮似的
雞翼亦帶點乾身帶點嚡,但又唔算好差果種
反而大蝦幾入味,帶點鮮味,不過沒有汁是差一點點的
飯開頭頗乾身的,後來不知從何來的汁,與飯混成味道一流
羊肉不算是出色貨色,吃下去不夠淋,口感差了一點
汁有點像蘑菇汁,味道不濃不淡,但已經足夠蓋過了羊肉味,亦幾乎取代
但總括來說不過不失

集團式的西班牙菜
很一般的菠菜timbal
不正宗的tortilla
這裡的前身也是同一個集團的西班牙餐廳,現在換了新名字,新裝修當然又雅致一點。樓底高,空調不足,有點悶熱。如果想涼快一點,坐在酒窖內的座位會比較好。氣氛是輕鬆隨意的,也較嘈雜,加上三人樂隊在逐檯獻唱,想要清靜一點吃餐晚飯,有點困難。
看餐牌,也不算是很地道。
先來點解渴的,這裡沒有有紅白酒,沒有生啤,只得樽啤,也不打緊,因為吃西班牙菜,怎能不來一壺Sangria?這裡的紅酒及volka也下得慷慨,碎果則下得求其,也不多。不過夠冰凍,要了一公升,喝了一晚,也是盡興的。
看了又看餐牌上的tapas選擇,唯有盡可能要一些「名字上」也對辦一點的,分別是西班牙奄列、風乾火腿及蟹肉菠菜伴紅甜椒。西班牙奄列tortilla最先送來,圓圓的,是煎蛋皮包上薯仔,並非最正宗的tortilla。尤幸蛋皮雖薄薄又沒有蛋味,但配上西班牙風腸,鹹鹹香香的又有咬口,內藏的薯條煮得軟腍又有藉仔香,算不錯;這裡的風乾火腿是serreno,而好一點的Iberico,吃起來軟熟有餘而鹹香不足,也沒有黑毛腳腿獨有的醉人酒香,美中不足,索價75蚊,也是如此;也想吃一點清新的蔬菜頭盤,就選了菠菜timbal。菠菜幾鹹,而舖面的蟹肉也沒有鮮味,旁邊的紅甜椒更原來是做樣的,像個西餐的前菜多過西班牙的好多好多;
原先想喝湯,但見只有蕃茄凍湯,卻沒有蔬菜凍湯,也不冒險了,喝多一杯snagria,直接到主菜的部份吧!主菜的肉類要了燒乳豬,海鮮類則選了蕃茄大蒜燴海鮮。這裡的燒乳豬很得意,是皮還皮,肉還肉的,中間的肥肉不知去了那裡,準是給去掉了,似乎是因為客人怕吃肥肉的情況。但老實說,一來實素好的乳豬的肥脂也不應太多太厚的﹝但見El Mundo那碟肥肉厚厚的乳豬就知﹞,二來吃得燒豬,卻怕吃肥脂的,也真難明白。看著這碟皮肉完全分離的乳豬,只感無奈。皮薄薄的,不太脆,吃起來還有點兒韌。肉還不錯,吃起來爽口,但一點肥脂也沒有的豬肉,當然吃得不是味兒。伴碟的炸薯絲反而鬆脆可口,不過跟乳豬,互不相干。這碟烤乳豬賣一百六十,Ole的雖然賣貴幾十蚊,但質數高幾班不止,要知什麼是西班牙烤乳豬,這幾十蚊慳不得;
蕃茄大蒜燴海鮮海鮮份量很豐富,有大帶子、蜆、鱈魚肉及三文魚肉各兩件,不少的拆殼鮮蝦及魷魚,單是這個份量,也應該夠二人吃的。幾款海鮮也都很新鮮,亦處理得很乾淨,值得一讚的。難得的是三文魚也不韌,幾嫩滑,而蝦肉有羔之餘,亦去清黑腸的,吃得滿意。湯汁很鮮甜,沒有什麼蕃茄及大蒜的味道,反而胡椒味幾濃,轉眼喝過清光。伴上的兩件蒜片多士也精彩,微脆又蒜香味濃,配上燴海鮮來吃,很飽足的。不過說到底,燴海鮮也是正宗的西班牙菜,這裡的做得不太像樣子,似一道西餐點多一些,不過就做得幾好吃。
吃完三道前菜及兩道主菜,已經飽至不能動,再吃不下什麼甜品了。不過看餐牌,也好像沒有什麼具吸引力的甜點,也沒有損失吧。
侍應的服務很細心,如見我拿了大包小包的,就立即推來一張椅給我放,還特意在上面舖了餐巾,以防弄污。加上全程招呼做到足,服務一欄,滿分!
連餐後咖啡,埋單剛好一千元。要吃正宗一點的西班牙菜,這個價位,似乎也有更好的選擇。不過在這個地區而言,這裡是唯一的選擇,又是真的。
吃了這局,驅使我在另一做西班牙菜最好的店子,做一個連那裡也未做過的晚宴,此乃後話。

好好味, 好有情調 ^.^
點了下列菜式:
1. 西班牙燒豬: 正常水準
2. 白酒煮蜆: 好正, 好大碟, 蜆大隻有鮮味
3. 蕃茄包: 係落完order個 waiter recommend 的, 但一d都唔特別
4. 心太軟 + 雪糕: 好正
5. 仲有叫了一碟意粉, 詳情唔記得
waiter + waitress 服務好好, 見到室內環境都好靜好似好浪漫, 同室外很不同, 下次可以試吓
兩個人$6xx , 比想像中平, 因為以為咁嘅環境食西餐會更貴

不錯的西餐廳
蕃茄麵包冇太大驚喜
特別日子的晚餐當然要揀一個舒適的環境,Mijas的戶外位就能滿足我們的要求。坐得舒服兼有無敵海景。那天因為下雨,唔算太熱。大熱天時真是要諗過,不過室內的位置我想都會坐得舒服。
因為唔食牛,就選了西班牙燒豬(是主菜比較划算的菜式$200蚊有找)同侍應推介的鹽焗魚。怕唔夠飽再加多個蕃茄麵包。最後再點了芒果心太軟。呢個甜品真係大件夾抵食。
麵包沒什麼特別,燒豬美中不足是上菜時已經唔太熱,食食吓已經凍。不過都算香口好味,不似中式乳豬淨係食塊皮。伴菜的炸薯片條幾好味,為這個燒豬起了畫龍點精之效果。
條鹽焗魚係鱸魚,用白雪雪、厚厚的鹽包住來焗。食的時候有人打開啲鹽,起骨再上。條魚都幾滑,不過冇想像中咁入味。汁是炸蒜蓉加橄欖油,香口但有點油膩。
心太軟唔係好有芒果味,算合格啦!食埋甜品已經好飽,好滿足。
老實講,未食過西班牙菜,實在食唔出同意大利菜有什麼分別。
食食吓有樂隊唱歌,我覺得幾有情調,仲可以點歌。
第一次去美利樓的餐廳食飯,預咗會貴,最後埋單七百,估唔到仲比上次去山頂食便宜呢!

King Parrot的天下
對這個集團其實沒有多大好感, 吃過它的新疆菜帕莎, 上海菜阿拉麵館, 西班牙菜Cl Cid, 德國菜King Ludwig Beerhall及日本菜一遊, 除了一遊外, 其他都只是一般而已.
因此, 到這裡吃飯時, 也沒有太大的期望.
一坐下來, waiter便向我們推介當日的special menu, 通常我也不太理會那張special menu的, 但見到上面印著鵝肝, 心便動起來. 一試那個用酒泡過的冷盤鵝肝. 一吃真的不得了, 鵝肝味很濃郁, 教人忘了膽固醇, 脂肪這些擾人的問題.
除了這個鵝肝外, 一切都乎合了沒有期望的水準.
西班牙菜不得不吃Paella, 海鮮都尚算新鮮, 可惜那個飯實在太乾了. 這是我吃過Paella以來最乾身的一次, 蝦都竟然給吃出渣來.
還點了一個lamb, 於街外, 很難吃到很有羊味的, 畢竟怕羶的人比愛羊的人多. 這個羊很有肉味, 但卻缺乏了羊應有的羶, 可恨呀.
要讚的是waiter的服務態度, 很悉心的為顧客介紹菜單, 良好的態度令這裡加分.

Mijas Spanish Restaurant
1. oyster: Promotional menu is Galas one. I order another 3 from which are one from US, South Pacific from Aust, one from France. US is good.
2. ham with grilled crab leg. Ham is juicy, grilled crab leg taste fresh, though it is frozen.
3. spinach lobster cream soup, taste creamy but not heavy. If you expect it's a seafood soup, sorry, I would rather regard it as a creamy veg soup.
4. pan fried foie gras with toast. foie gras not pan fried until golden colour, it can be better.
5. main course either grilled sorlin steak or seafood (prawn, scallop, salmon filet) with risotto. Steak is charcoal grill, taste good but temperature is not up to standard, I feel it warm at my first bite. The 'risotto' is not Italian one, but only local rice, taste ok but a bit disappointed.
6. dessert is creme buree. the top coat is too hard and too sweet, overall the taste is good.
7. beverages: San Pallagreno & a glass of Carbanet Savignon, around HK$130.
The service is wonderful. Very attentive, especially when I walked along the balcony, from smoking side to non-smoking side and discover a better sea view there, waiter suggest me to reserve sofa seat if I want when making reservation.
