Anyone who has tried Portugese food should agree with me that it's a raw (low-end) version of Spanish cuisine. To put it nicely you can call it rustic but deep down you must share my feelings.

Tudy's is a small restaurant tucked away at Wanchai's boat street, where the famous haunted mansion is. It sits where Nino's Conzinha use to and belongs to the same group.

Basically the setting is the same with the menu being smaller and featuring tapas(portugese) only.

I requested to be seated outside and our table was set right beside the entrance. It was nice out that night with the cool winds, but unfortunately, the plants set beside us were nested with mosquitos. We got bitten way too many times as dinner proceeded. Tudy's should have taken more care about pest control.

Regarding the food, they were ok i guess, but definitely not great. Prices were sky high I must say, given the concept of tapas and sangria is good and cheap food and drinks fora bunch of people gathering after work. Food and drinks are definitely not that cheap here. As a point of reference, they charge $36x for a bottle of Mateus Rose, which sells at $7x at Wellcome.

where did the concept of portugese tapas come from?
Is tapas even a portugese word?

the famous boat street, with the haunted mansion up the slope

Of course, sangria comes to mind when eating tapas

They really did use cheap wine for the sangria.

Home made bun ($10). Not crispy enough on the outside, and not fluffy enough inside. Nice try!

Cheese platter, feta, goat, camembert, the fourth one at the front, I have no idea what it is, neither did the waiter. The apple goes nicely with the cheese, but the almond, although they were warm, were soggy at the same time >.<

Salted cod and potato cakes, generous generous amount of cod, and tasted pretty good

Sauteed squid, the sauce was watery and no matter how hard you try it just won't cling to the squid, and I can't really tell whether it's sauteed or just boiled in the sauce.

Sauteed garlic prawns, not enough garlic or olive oil, lucky enough, the freshness of the prawns saved the day

Clams in white wine.... clams were quite fresh, but the amount was minuscule compared to other places. The chef, strangely enough, used butter instead of olive oil for this dish, giving the broth a very creamy buttery flavour which doesn't really match with the other ingredients. Makes one wonder about their food knowledge...

Aside from the price, the location was nice, service was friendly and attentive, although food knowledge definitely needs improvement.
2 jugs of sangria, 4 tapas, a cheese platter and a roll came to $1100. You be the judge, but even El Cid, does a better job at the food and I am sure the bill will be 30% less

We wanted to have a casual dinner before seeing a movie and friends had been here and said it was good. The venue is very small but the decor and atmosphere was quite cosy and inviting. The drawback of that is that any noise can be quite loud and we had a table of 6 local Hongkies next to us who talked at the top of their voices.

The food and wine selection were quite good. We ordered:

- Clams in white wine - taste was pretty good, not very many of them tho. But my bf had the last one and spat it out, saying it tasted funny.
- Pork cubes and sausages - the size of the dish was tiny, but the taste was very good
- Chorizo bread - I didn't like this dish much, it was basically warm bread rolls with slices of chorizo inside, nothing special.
- Roasted bell pepper salad - quite a good mix of ingredients and tasted quite nice
- Potato fries - again, nothing special, much like the french fries you get at McDonalds, but didn't have enough salt on them.
- Garlic shrimp - taste and portion size was quite good

The price was a little more than I had expected, but then again, we did have 2 glasses of alcohol with the food. Overall I would say this place was ok.

My friend introduced me to this place, she's portugese and eating there it reminded her of home. So I throught Ibetter check this place out
Went there with two friends,we had:
Sauteed Squid- Very good,a little spicy Yummy
Portuguese meat balls- Could taste the spicies in the meat
Cod fish cakes- loads of Bacalhau in the cake, better that most places I've tried in macau
White wine clams- pity there wasn't more
Sardine pate- not bad, standard
Potato cakes- never had anything like this before, there was some mince meat in the centre. Another good dish.
Ox tripe- the best I've ever had, It was nice and soft not hard and chewy. Order some bread to dip the sauce.

I can't remember what else we ordered, I think a salad and soup ?
Can't remember, I didn't have any of it.

Lastly wine, they have quite a large selection of portuguese wine. The waiter told me they get it direct from portugal, no middle man. Cool
We had a bottle of red, I think it was called two worlds, went well with our dishes.
Overall it was a lovely evening out, However the place is very small. I was sitting back to back. It was worth it . So remember to call to book a table. Will be there again soon.

- fried mushrooms
- sardines: 送上枱時有腥味,但朋友說食落肉質鮮美,亳不覺腥.
- cod fish & potato cakes: 香口,馬介休與薯仔份量剛好
- 木槺布甸: 好味!

+ portuguese white wine x2 (已忘記酒名)

地方雖少,但招呼親切。我與朋友對葡萄牙酒不熟,店長及店員都樂意講解,讓我們試飲。飯後甚至請我們飲自家製port wine (btw, taste like plum wine, sweet but also very good!).
