睇openrice的網頁,提到大喬有午市或晚市放題,便打個電話去book位試下,此放題只會係星期六、日及公眾假期先有。

星期六12點3到達,感到餐廳的環境不差,(洗手間亦十分乾淨),waiter帶位至一個向住軒尼斯道既卡位,十分舒適!

睇睇menu,午市放題138元有大約十幾款野食,再加每人一份迷你魚生飯/ 熱烏冬/ 紫菜茶漬飯,又或者鐵板炒飯,如果另加100元,便可以品嚐埋海膽壽司,鰻魚、鵝肝、油甘魚壽司,蔥吞拿魚手卷,鐵板牛肉等比較貴價之食物。

我選擇238元亦食左好多海膽壽司,鰻魚、鵝肝、油甘魚壽司,感到此店食物之質素十分好,油甘魚、海膽新鮮香甜,店員服務態度亦良好,雖然放題食物choices不是很多,但二百零蚊總覺得十分物有所值。我從未食過外間百幾元之日本食物放題,亦沒有太大興趣去食,始終相信一分錢一分貨這個道理。

此店值得推介,唯獨是上菜時間,又或者中途已經要暫停海膽壽司既供應,可以改善。

Okay people this is my first comment, i am very excited as many friends told me lot's of people read this.

I went to a japanese restaruant call dai kyo after hearing it from friends, there are two impression about this restaurant and let me start with the bad first!

The food was okay but i believe no matter how good the food is, service is my number one thing and the service was so bad i told myself i will never go again! It was very surprise back in october when there were only few tables and trust me i was sitting on the first table and the guy who serve me didnt' wear a uniform, just jeans so i ask him rather he's the boss and he told me he just work there, the impression was bad and if not because of the food which i must say was one of the above average with a reasonable price.

Okay as i told myself i will never go there, my friend and i was working OT one night, we want to eat jap food badly which happen last thursday but for some reason the downstairs restuaurant was all full and the line was all the way to the Wsquare door so given no choice my friend ask me just to give one more try.... what can i say... as a hk people we are always impatient!

So to my surprise the place was FULL... I mean FULL... with that kind of service i wouldnt' believe my eye, later i find out it was oyster night and people go there mainly for oyster. As my friend and i sat in, the writer comes, hhahahahasmile The same waiter who wore jeans but this time full uniform and i was very please with it. We decide to order oyster and it was cheap, not reasonable but cheap! AND FRESH! But still with so many people now i figure the service would be bad, I have to give them full credit!!! The service this time was excellent, in fact the captain remembers me getting very mad last time and come over to tell us they have change management and change most of their staff.
1, they remember me getting mad
2, they come and apologize and give me 6 free oyster

I must say i got different expectation on this restuarant but i must give full credit they change really fast!

WIll i go again? Yes

Price? B
Service? C - should get higher but lot's of new staff with bad expericenc the last time so let see how they improve

魚生飯ok,不過燒牛肉真係羶兼唔好食…雖然聞落去好香…芽菜多多、肉少少,不過都無所謂,反正都唔好食…XD
其他野都無乜特別,係d沙律同漬物,一件細細蛋糕仔
除左貴之外就無乜特別好食咁

依家做緊任叫任食…不過唔係好多野揀咁無叫

原本同女朋友拍拖去銅鑼灣食日本野,點知冇訂位行左兩三間都要等個幾鐘,於是打電話求救,朋友介紹左上去,淨係唔駛等位兼環境舒服已經合我心意。
拿起個菜牌發現D價錢上落好大,我前後點左六個野食:龍蝦刺身、雜錦魚生、炸盧旬、芝士焗蠔、酒煮大蜆、烏冬。龍蝦刺身同炸盧旬竟然係差不多價錢,不過佢地話係PROMOTION,所以龍蝦係蝕本價,聽落幾開心,一百蚊隻龍蝦刺身真係邊度搵,上到台面隻野仲狂動,嚇到我老婆跳起,不過證明新鮮都係好事。
野食算係水準中上,尤其魚生同龍蝦真係驚喜,我試過去一D貴得多的日本餐廳都係差不多呢個水準,惟一係個蠔配料好味但有少少腥唔算超新鮮,不過我印象中在香港好似未食過真係唔腥的蠔,所以都有心理準備。呢度可能因為人少,招呼相當熱情,最凍反而係D茶。
兩個人食左六樣野非常滿足而再睇睇張單就有D高興,可能我在PROMOTION的野食中選左幾樣,加埋都係500蚊,咁叫野食法同去D CHEAP餐龐的價錢冇分別,可能因為冇開酒關係所以咁抵。問題係餐牌上面的鐵板餐一個人成六七百蚊,我唔知有咩人會叫,因為個起落差太遠。
不過論環境論野食論價錢,真係值得推介,帶新識的女朋友去食都唔失禮。

My friends asked me to go to this Free Flow Sake Night in a relatively new Japanese restaurant in Wan Chai so I joined them. The set dinner was like a marathon. There were so many dishes. I had low expectation on set dinners normally but after the meal, I had this rare satisfaction of feeling complete both stomach-wise and soul-wise. The decor of the place was just right - classy in a contemporarily comfortable way. Small tables were arranged in zones with good privacy. Private rooms were great too for larger groups.

The food... gosh!!!::::::
1) First it was a nicely marinated pumpkin with smoked duck breast. To me, the pumpkin was more impressive. Not saying that the duck breast was bad, but the pumpkin was marinated to perfection. I should have asked them what crazily yummy sauce they had used.
2) Assorted sashimi was above average. Fresh by HK standard. Don't compare to Tsukiji of course! But I was happy.
3) Now this beef roll with tofu inside was interesting. The smooth tofu made the entire thing very smooth. Smart. The fish was very Japanese too. I am not really that much of a Japanese fish expert, but it did taste very fresh and very Jap. Nicely done.
4) Fois Gras. I wish it were less oily, but gosh, can a fois gras be non-oily and non-fatty? HAHA! Very tender.
5) The minced tuna sushi gave us a nice feel inside the mouth. I've forgotten how the perch tasted though.
6) Oh, this combo was a killer. The pork cutlet with pork cutlet sauce and the battered fish in a very light kind of tartar sauce created a nice contrast. Strong vs light.
7) I was pretty full by now. The wagyu beef was from Australia I heard. I still ate it all though!
8) Fried rice - not their fault. Personally I like fried rice to be wet, but all the restaurants make it pretty dry. So probably my only complaint during the entire evening but it's completely my personal preference.
9) Yuzi Sorbet - can't believe they ended this incredible meal by serving my favorite flavor of sorbet. I was in heaven by now!

Overall, an impressive presentation of food, a very comfy environment and a very enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely come back, be it for casual dining with friends, for business dinners or for a romantic purpose. A 9/10 by me.

P.S. The set dinner was priced at $398 with free flow sake, but many other great choices of different price ranges available on the menu.

I went to the sake tasting nite on wednesday at daikyo with one friend... It only have to pay $100 and u can drink as much as u can.... the daikyo manager told me that will be on every wednesday until i am not so sure..

besides the sake tasting nite... the snack are yummy too... and it is so cheap tho.. i remember it only $20 for 2 musseli with cheese.... that is so cheap... i recommand u guys should go try it out aye...

the overall atmosphere are nice aye... since i only have two ppls .... i think if more ppls go... that will be more fun tho.. just like u go to bar and enjoying the happy hour...

however... if the free sake hours can extend abit longer ... that will be way better!!! and also if the service can be quicker....

約咗friend食晏, 於是揾咗呢間.

上次試過一次, 水準幾高, 但稍貴, 每人約 $100

今次同樣叫咗個燒牛仔骨的set, 朋友叫咗辣三文魚飯. 價錢比上次平, 水準都唔錯, 三文魚有少少辣, 上面鋪滿沙律醬, 第一啖食, 覺得滿是甜甜的沙律醬味, 再咀嚼幾下, 便覺得有微辣, 連唔食得辣的我, 都覺得唔錯.

至於個燒牛肉粒, 好香口, 但牛肉幾 "un".

兩個set都有麪鼓湯, 加入小粒粒的菇, 十分有咬口.

甜品跟餐送的, 係兩件小小的Tiramisu. 味道唔錯.

每人埋單 $75, 比上次平咗. 服務都唔錯. 都算值回票價.

生日飯的第一餐飯是Lunch,一位最初開BLOG已經認識的朋友,只是因為地點方便大家Lunch碰面就選了這裡了。

這一間日本料理的感覺如何呢?



中午去到,客人不多,相比起樓下的八喜台灣料理生意差很多了,相信是因為定價的問題,灣仔區要一百元一個人的Lunch支持度實在不高,而據聞此店以前是更貴的,看來是向現實低頭求變吧!



先讚的是環境,非常闊落,所有卡位都隔很遠而且有私人空間,是聊天慢慢吃的好地方。而我們就坐在窗邊,雖然只是電車路景但還算不錯。



我們各自叫了一個Lunch Set,先上沙律,一般吧,沒太大特色。



接著上的湯烏冬,也看不出有特別的地方,中級水準吧。

在下的主菜是什錦壽司,看上去好像不錯,拍照拍出來的確OK。



最近鏡頭的火灸三文魚是比較好吃的,魚生類新鮮程度一般,但最經典的還是那一件白色的魷魚壽司。

這是在下平生第一次吃到魚生感覺像擦膠,怎咬也咬不開,結果要整塊魷魚吐出來,吃壽司吃到要這樣還真的畢生難忘。



朋友點了銀鱈魚西京燒,她說也是OK的水準,而大家不約而同覺得最好吃的,都是這一件跟餐的小甜品。

簡單來說,這店的食物水準認真一般,那擦膠壽司簡直是一絕,以這個價錢來說絕不合格,唯一優勝的應該是環境吧。

餐廳走中上路線, 但菜式選擇嚴重不足.. 若果不吃壽司刺身, $300以上的和牛, 和$500以上的套餐... 2個人散點的話, 實在很難選擇..

一行2人, 8:15pm, 星期二到達.. 客人不多, 入座率只有3成, 鐵板燒的台更沒人坐.

一座下, 問drink menu呢? 待應答: 沒有drink menu.. 本店只有house sake提供.. shocked House Wine聽過, House Sake真的是第一次聽... $200/300ml (凍的)

之後點了一個六點刺身.. $88 (味道不錯, 平均每樣都有2件)
一個鰻魚炒飯.. 約$70 (炒得很好味.. 約嫌有點濕, 只得一小碗)
一個雜錦串燒.. $46 (辣椒, 牛舌, 雞軟骨, 手羽先)
一個豆腐菜煲 $約70 (和想像的有很大出入, 期待個湯底應該鮮甜的.. 但味道卻是水一般
的味道 mad , 另外加入了一種日本的香菜, 味道很怪.. 我個人受不了..)

最後埋單連加一, $560. 最貴是sake.
問我要再點什麼, 實在叫不到... 本來想叫個toro鐵火卷.. 但它只有辣味的Toro卷... 不想亂試....

期間, 冷氣超凍.... 熱茶沒有, 只有微暖的茶... 臨走叫了兩杯綠茶.. 等了十分鐘都沒有... 埋單走人..

A few of us from work decided to go for lunch at Daikyo in Wanchai's W Square. Good thing we made reservations in advance, because there was already a line-up at the restaurant when we got there! tongue

The place had a nice atmosphere and decor, perfect for business luncheons and casual dining. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Even the head chef came over to our table to greet us and introduced the menu to us.

This was what we ordered:

Rose Chirashi Sushi Set for HK$88 (full-course lunch set) - portion size was ok, but was still very cheap. Lunch set includes: miso soup, salad, appetizer, main dish + dessert

Sashimi special $98 - highly recommended! A wide variety of assorted sashimi and very fresh. There was also a lobster sashimi special for $99 -- too bad we couldn't order it since it was a dinner special (will try it next time!)

2 baked oysters with cheese (HK$19) - unbelievably cheap, but a bit too filling (lots of cheese)

Teppanyaki seafood set - expensive but still worth it. Large portion size which included scallop, prawn, squid and silver cod. Chef cooked on teppanyaki grill in front of us.

Teppanyaki beef roll set - love it! Beef was very tender and delicious.

Overall, it was a nice and satisfying lunch. Will definitely come again smile

好貴,但非常唔低,近期因冇生意lunch大减價,但lunch set 份量一樣大减價,今日上去食lunch
見到樓下有個亞沈派傳單大减價,平日都冇,之前食過一次$214lunch一個人,今日收$68,但得少少份量,味道好過荼記少少,叫咗$19兩隻蠔,我坐在鐵板燒近厨房門口,見到一個厨師攞2隻好大的蠔學,放隻蠔肉上去,,,吓完來假架,跟主攞出來鐵板燒,果個光頭经理講d蠔日本廣島來活的,但真相就......我自己睇睇厨師主完用快子攞起隻蠔,見到隻蠔學都冇肉粒在上面,就知隻蠔學之前d客食完洗返,返用,自己都唔錦食,$19兩隻日本廣島活蠔,真唔真自己去食就知(睇你有冇胆食)

再來的是刺身併盤,先吃油甘魚。吃起來都算肥美,不過看著這件不大花切功的刺身,有點唔知好嬲定好笑;帶子角切,味道也算不錯;北寄貝爽口,但吃起來帶一點點的腥味,印象一般;芥末是比較高價的支裝貨,還比迥轉的牙膏貨好;朋友喜歡海膽,見有日本海膽,也來一客海膽壽司。日本來的當然是比加拿大貨味道鮮美,腥味也較少,而這件海膽壽司,算是中上水準了;

吃的東西不少,感覺上為何是晚的主菜遲遲未到?也要是提醒才拿來的,而師傅還問是什麼湯底,又問煮好拿來好不好,回答是不以為然。要的是和牛shabu shabu,除了窩,還有沙律及卷物。先來的沙律,只是蟹柳沙律,味道還可以,誠意欠奉;砂窩上檯,一開蓋,卻發現所有和牛片卻已經統統在浸在窩中,和牛切得薄,當然是熟透了。而熟透了的和牛,吃起上來完全不見佳處,就只比一般的牛肉好上一點點。坦白說,作為一間日本料理店,作為一個賣連加一賣五百元,如此奉客,一是店方不懂,一是覺得客人不懂,皆不可以原諒。

難得的是,師傅還走出來問意見,當然立即問其為何和牛shabu shabu會如此處理。他笑笑的陪罪,還拿起我的清酒說幫我們斟酒,但當時酒杯皆已是滿的,跟蟹柳沙律一般,欠缺誠意。最後也不忘說:「下次不會的了...」還有下次?

牛肉窩除了幾片不吃也罷的熟和牛,還有高麗菜、冬菇及烏冬等等,配料也很弱。白味噌湯底,算是不錯,至少最後也算有啖熱湯下肚。始終在港式料理店子,真的要避開吃這些正宗日本料理,這個也是教訓。單就這個涮窩,真的是不比「喊面」也不行。

最後送來雪糕,是柚子雪葩及綠茶雪糕,前者清新好吃,值得一試。

埋單千七,還連說我們是VIP之餘,也說是打了七折之後的價錢。以價位計,水準就很一般,不抵吃。不過有個好處,就是不收開瓶費。

談了很久,坐至打烊,可惜還有工事在身,下次談過。

First time having birthday in Hong Kong.. We was walking around in Wanchai and looking around for some nice food! We got a leaflet from a handsome young men on the street who is trying to promote their Japanese food!

I don't really like japanese but we want to try something special on birthday also it look like this japanese cuisine is doing a BIG promotion so we went up to try our first japanese in HK.

Their manager introduce their $99 fresh lobster which is very attractive as they're also giving a lobster soup lol they had show us this fresh lobster before KILL.. which I don't really like this part shocked

I love cooked food and I love this special cheese basco oyster.. only $19 for two big cheese besco oyster, just looking at how they cook it on teppanyaki is already very worth for this price.. LOVE IT!

After my lobster.. osyter.. lovely japanese Beef Sabu Sabu.. I am REALLY FULL.. can't take anything more!

Suprice.. one of their waitress heard that it is my birthday so their manager come over to me and giving a lovely choclate cake to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY... so sweet lol they're also giving me a 30% discount for my special day!!

Selected this place from the attractive pictures posted by others.

Ordered two sets, lots of sauces accompanying the dishes, and the food was good.
The only thing that let the meal down was the "large" clam soup as stated on the menu and pictured by others.

From pictures posted, the clam was nearly as big on the bowl, but it was tiny, after complaining, was given another bowl, not slightly bigger, but I believe so they can get a good review here.

Anyway the beef was good, I am not a beef eater, but the beef here is perfect, thinly sliced beef wrapped with spring onion inside.
