Me and my friends decided to go walking around TST to look for some place to eat to celebrate my coming birthday. We walk past Al Bistro and then look in and decided to go in and try. Mediterranean restaurant. Lady outside say happy hour and ask us if we feel interested in having drinks. We decided to give it a try, and we ask to get a table for 6 for dinner. Inside looks very nice and grand. Very full already, many people and busy..
We order some cocktails which were unexpectingly very good. We order a large seafood platter which cost us $898...!!!! but then when it come, it is just amazing when everyone see it. get 8 oysters,8 mussels, 8 whelks, prawns, cherry stones, crab and forgot what else...anyway, we think it was worth the price and it was very good... we were very happy with that...
After that, we order four set dinner to share as well as some other main courses.. Set dinner was not expensive and you get starters, soup and main courses like lobster pasta, rib eye,etc....The food was quite good, better than we expected at around $180- $200 per set. We also have one ham pizza to share. .We also get desserts from our set dinner as well as an extra dessert for my birthday for free which we could not finish....overall everything was very good, we have a good time. One bad thing however, is that the walk to the washroom is very long but the way there looks like another world. The bill was around $2000 for 6 of us and we were given 20% discount by one of the managers, which was very nice. We would definely come back again next time.

上回諾士佛台的午餐非常愉快,今次則移師自己同樣鍾愛的Al Bistro。由七月尾的情侶靜餐,變成兩夫婦+六位大師的聚餐,很慶幸美味及開心程度是有過之而無不及!首先多謝店方準備舒適寬落的大檯,幾乎熱暈的八人,在涼爽的環境休息一陣,就開始頗豐富的午餐:
整頓的服務或有點慢或遲,但感受到侍應是細心的,如提醒遲來的食友外出取沙律,記下飲品位置以便準確傳遞,等等。加上清靜的氣氛,是日大家邊食邊傾相當愉快;在此再一次多謝各位大師,有機會一起再食過吧!

Encore Al Bistro
上兩星期食過Al Bistro,質素令人滿意,今日下午再和同事encore一次。今次主菜試了漢寶包薯絛。有別於一般漢寶包,外皮薄得來很脆,麵包亦很鬆軟。內函料足,有半溶嘅芝士,惹味嘅洋葱,爽脆嘅生菜及juicy嘅牛肉,確係好味喎!

我們點了兩個light lunch($68),分別有橙汁,salad bar,餐湯,主菜,甜品和飲品,只不過幾十元,價錢可說便宜了。
先來的是麵包和橙汁,麵包曖曖的頗好。
我們到salad bar取了些蔬果,其實選擇也不少的,醬汁也有凱撒沙拉油、醋、藍芝士醬、千島汁等等。我最喜歡凱撒沙拉和火箭菜,都十分新鮮。
湯是不能選擇的,只有一款,是日是青豆湯,份量不多但剛剛好。
直至這裡,食物都是不錯的。可惜主菜就令人失望。選了菠蘿火腿pizza和牛肉漢堡。Pizza的賣相一般,pizza底比較硬,不是脆,而是硬。芝士不少,不過冷卻之後變得好難食呀。牛肉漢堡的賣相很好,不過漢堡扒卻很乾,完全沒有肉汁。唯一搶分的是麵包,很香又軟熟。
甜品本是布甸,不過竟然被我們發現在布甸上有不少銀色的粒粒,經研究下應該是一些器皿的碎屑。我們著侍者更換,他仍死撐說是正常,不過最近都肯換另一客甜品。但都食不知味了。
飲品選了cappuccino 和 latte,一般。
第二次光顧就差了不少,難回頭。

星期一第一次在Al Bistro食lunch,餐廳環境幾舒適,服務OK,最緊要係食物唔錯及幾抵食。
除此之外,亦試了朋友的墨西哥pizza及雜菌pizza。墨西哥雞肉pizza除了辣味,其他味道都唔係好出。相反雜菌pizza更香,又夾雜更多芝士,味道更豐富。
只是七八十元,就能吃到一個full set嘅午餐,質素OK,抵食

預先訂了座,一進場就被花過心思去裝修、佈置,且頗有古堡感覺的的環境感動。在舒服的沙發位坐下來,檯面迎接我們的還有可人的太陽花;打開餐單一看,午餐取價竟與環境不成比例,$68的light lunch已經包橙汁、自助沙律吧、餐湯、漢堡/薄餅、甜品及咖啡;包括紅酒及肉類主菜的executive lunch也才$72-92,是日就每樣來了一款:

雖食物未達盡善盡美,但以陣客、環境、服務及誠意是無可挑剔了,我連花園走廊式的洗手間也很滿意,實在是超值愉快的一餐。看到鄰桌的漢堡包賣相誘人,換了身份後,我們肯定還會重來的!

結果:兩個都超過$100的dishes,竟然可以完全無味的
另外,年青侍應意唔知道甚麼叫做 Bloody Mary,好在經理出現,給我們弄了三個B.M.,雖然味道有些怪,但可以飲。

一個是大蝦白汁磨菇菠菜面餐。一個是漢堡扒薯菜餐。

大盤今次都係食龍蝦不過就食燒龍蝦都係十分新鮮同預期的一樣,仲可以保持上次的水準都女友就食雞雞肉無過火不鞋口,仲有好香的牛油味,食物都保持到上次的水準,已且我見到都有不少客人出品都唔差已經很好,今次晚餐都ok我女友仲話公司遲d有個聚會都會提議係度搞但唔知呢度包場貴唔貴呢!

第八百篇︰細味意菜

Set lunch選擇有四個,分別是$68-$98,我們就選了classic pizza($68)和grilled sirloin steak($98)。
餐前麵包︰暖暖的,我愛蘸醋,男友愛塗牛油,都一樣好食。
Steak tomato n mozzarella︰菜不是十分新鮮,試了一點mozzarella,不是太習慣這樣子吃芝士呢,哈哈。
Caesar salad︰用的不是羅馬生菜,有點失望。不過醬汁調得不錯,又有大大片的芝士,收貨了。
Pumpkin soup︰男友喝的,很滑很creamy,甜甜的不錯。
Tomato soup with crab meat︰我最愛喝蕃茄湯了,這個很夠酸,我覺得很不錯呢。可惜的是加上了蟹肉,而我覺得蟹肉有點腥,影響了整個湯。
grilled sirloin steak︰我怕太生,所以點了七成熟,出來的效果是比預期熟了一點。不知是否成數問題,影響了牛扒沒有多少肉汁。幸好光吃牛扒也夠味,蘸點香草牛油也不錯。
classic pizza︰pizza底很薄,很脆,頗好。材料也很簡單,是cheese加上蕃茄的組合,要趁熱吃才好,不然涼了芝士變硬也就不好吃了。
明明在menu上寫的甜品是blueberry cheesecake,可是來的是一個甜品拼盤。是mini的tiramisu、慕絲和泡芺。巧克力慕絲是最好吃的,很幼滑又不過甜。最差的是數泡芺了,硬硬的沒有吃頭。
飲品我們分別點了latte和cappuccino。味道一般而已,latte比較好一點。
環境是不錯的,當日的客人也很少,可以靜靜地食一頓悠閒的午餐。最滿意的是每道菜都有足夠的時間讓我們細味,不用擔心放涼要趕快吃。不太滿意是服務生板著面孔,準會有點影響我們愉快的心情的。

porcini湯,龍蝦湯-porcini湯都幾重菌味,好香,而龍蝦湯就較特別,有隻龍蝦仔浸係個湯度,好似浸溫泉噤,一睇就好開心(因為好配合我放假嘅心情)跟住梗係要試下個湯,我估唔到個龍蝦湯幾鮮味,又唔"渴"喉,(因為之前飲個d,飲到尾就有少少苦,呢度反而冇)味又濃,正
cod fish,牛膝-cod fish個汁幾特別,係d甜甜地嘅泡泡,(我女朋友勁鍾意,因為好滑,而伴菜裡面有d橙,好醒胃)而cod fish面有d香草牛油,好香,而伴菜有d橙,配合之下一d都唔會"溜"(噤都比個厨師諗到)
甜品-我女朋友要左佢嘅(飛佛)梳乎厘,佢話好食,我就冇試,(我怕食熱甜品)所以我要左個sorbet,其實sorbet都冇咩噤特別,但桃味就比較少食,(可能homemade都未定)都係試下嘅心態,但呢個sorbet都好深刻,因為一餐晚飯好唔好,甜品嘅比重都唔少,話哂甜品都係成餐飯嘅句號,一見到以為甜到"溜",但估唔到唔太甜,而且食完後,個口入面仲有d桃香,正到痺

唔會再去
餐廳已在 3月1日轉手, 已經不是李燦森開的了. 名字由 al bistro italian restaurant 改為 al bistro mediterranean restaurant.
我提早了一星期 book 檯, 當晚已有位waitress 說餐廳已改名, 不過 same food, same chef, nothing chaged.
再遲幾天, 因要加人數, 我又再打電話去改booking, 我又順便問, 佢地係唔係已經改名. 那位仁兄話我知, 冇改名. 留意, 我係完完整整讀出全名al bistro italian restaurant 呢個名. 佢都話冇改.
去到當天, 一見到 menu, 名的確是改了. 點菜時, 問招呼我的waitress (是外籍人事), 問左問右佢答唔出餐牌上的食物係咩黎. 又話我地知, 餐廳在3月1日已轉手. 要問舊waiter 先知 menu 食物是什麼. 問有冇 wine list, 又話冇. 等我再問其他人, 先知 menu 已經完全不同了 同埋係有 wine list 的.
食物真的麻麻地, 冇樣好食.
最激氣係點dessert. 可能佢想所有 dessert 一齊上, 所以要成半個鐘先比到我地. 另外, 其中一位點了 strawberry ice-cream. 等了半小時, 在上 dessert 時先話冇 strawberry, 所以冇雪糕食, 但係我叫的是 strawberry trio.. 咁點解我有 strawberry食? 埋單時, 又說唔好意思, 其實係啲雪糕溶了. 佢知唔知自己講緊咩? 我另外位朋友點了sorbet, 個啲 sorbet 夠溶啦, 佢又比佢食??
