是晚跟從加拿大返黎既朋友仔晚飯只待一年係香港既, 咁樣既飯局唔知仲可以有幾多次, 要好好珍惜一番上次食左韓國菜, 今次要回味西式的呢先要了yuk cheese & poach egg salad 做appetizeryuk cheese偏硬亦唔重芝士味凍烚蛋做得唔好, 食得出好清水既「寡口」感青菜也是苦的主菜之前, 品下一小杯organic white wine好純好厚身既白酒而且甜度好好各自點了兩款不同既pasta朋友仔要了pan-fried scallop on pesto angel hair十級青草味, 用油分量, 一點味道也沒有, 很失望反觀我點的Linguine with black truffle and wild mushroom sauce 就唔錯起碼有味的, 雖然唔稱得上係好濃既黑松露但配左唔少野菌既扁意粉卻帶來煙un口感, 亦比較香口甜品點了一件dark chocolate cake賣相唔靚, 蛋糕係硬既, 亦無朱古力味朋友仔決定到外面食desserts, 走也!! 繼續閱讀

Went to restaurant in April 2011 for diner. Three of us ordered main dishes without drinks and only one starter. The starter was a Yak cheese fried wantons, 6 pieces for $45.. I love Yak cheese and was very dissapointed. The amount of cheese they used was so miniscule that you could not taste it. As a main, I ordered angel hair pasta and scallops. Not the best I ever had but not bad at all. But at $168, I was expecting more than a timy pile of food on my plate (I had to eat something when I got home). My guests ordered the New Zealand beef and lamb. I tasted each and again, they did a wonderful job of presenting very basic tasting dishes. The bill came to nearly $600 and I decided to warn others about being dissapointed. 繼續閱讀

Second time there - my first visit when it had just opened was quite pleasant. Menu has changed and the range of options seemed to have been scaled down which is fine. I've ordered a Caesar with Salmon and Yak Cheese (with a TINY TINY amount of cheese - it did not feel right - the salmon fillets were OK, but nothing exceptional) and my partner got some pasta (was it pesto ? I can't recall - but the taste was OK - not great). The service was very fast (rushed?) - we shared their signature cheese cake. There are only two desserts to choose from and we assumed that it would be somewhat really good, well ... the semi-fredo Yak cheese cake is really underwhelming. Service: there was a couple next to us who seemed top be getting a lot of attention, we both felt that we were not welcome there. The service should be equal for everyone - or at least not obviously so different. Rushed dinner (30 mins) - at 300HK$ for two - felt overpriced and rather pretentious / arrogant.Won't return. 繼續閱讀

Since the lunch appointment was with 2 weight-conscious friends, I thought I would introduce them to this quaint little cafe in my hood.The menu is very straight-forward: set lunch with 2 choices of main dish. I chose the Spaghetti Carbonara and they picked the pork chop with mashed sweet potato.Salad and soupSalad was a tiny dish of ordinary salad leaves, but the dressing was tasty. Soup was also in dainty portion, but it had a good amount of vegetables in it and tasted fresh rather than canned, albeit it was the Hong Kong-nised version of Minestrone. So if you are a stickler for authentic Minestrone, just treat this as vegetable soup!Main dishI liked the fact that my Carbonara was without cream, but the egg seemed to be missing too, as was the pancetta (they put in bacon instead). So I had to forget that it was Carbonara and ate it as a dish of spaghetti with bacon. With that frame of mind, I could declare it a yummy dish of al dente spaghetti.My weight-watching friends ordered the pork chop as they did some exercise that morning and needed sustenance. That dish did not give the the calories they were looking for. Each portion was half a piece of pork chop and a small scoop of mash. They said the dish was fine but they were obviously still hungry afterwards.DessertsFortunately, dessert was included. To my delight, it was jelly!!!!! Banana jelly, never had it before... not bad but once again, tiny.We had no choice but to order a piece of yak milk cheese cake to fill up the gaps. This turned out to be the highlight of the meal. The yak cheese did have a stronger gamey taste than ordinary cheese, but not as strong as goat cheese. The cake was slightly salty as well,quite an unusual and unexpected taste. This was the second time I had it and on both occasions, my friends would stop in their tracks, paused (you could see them really working their taste buds) and declared they liked it.All in all, taste-wise, it was not bad but not for someone with a hearty appetite. 繼續閱讀

考完了一科,繼續放我的有壓力假期.跑到灣仔這邊來散散心,順道找個地方解決午飯. 午飯時間,一大群上班族湧入星街光明街等小巷,跟著人潮左拐右拐,轉入了好像與灣仔的塵囂隔絕的日街.選了這間以天然為賣點的小餐廳.小小的一間舖,開放式廚房,只有3人在工作,看似老闆娘的店員獨力擔任侍應的工作,客人不多.餐廳擺設以簡約為主,環境舒適寧靜,有點歐洲近郊小餐館的風味.坐在近門口位置,有一個大雪櫃在旁,裡面放了不少Natural Energy Drinks,牆上的一黑板寫下了其他選擇,都是天然之選,連House wine都是organic的.午餐只有3款選擇,另附沙律,湯,甜品和飲品,不收加一服務費.先來的是田園沙律,數款生菜和車厘茄,佐以黑醋汁,酸酸的清新醒胃. 餐湯是周打魚忌廉湯,本身不是太喜歡忌廉湯,嫌其太膩.但這湯是出乎意料的清,味道足而不會水汪汪,忌廉份量拿捏得剛好.上面放了數顆香脆麵包糠,內面有大量薯仔粒,紅蘿蔔粒和魚肉碎,喝起上來更惹味.主菜是香煎龍利柳配咖哩汁,可跟有機糯/香米飯或紫薯蓉,聽上去都很吸引,但最後還是選了紫薯蓉.份量比較少,一球搓成雪糕狀的紫薯蓉, 三片薄小的龍利柳和一大堆津菜和紅蘿蔔等配菜. 紫薯蓉入口香甜,番薯質感軟軟粉粉的.龍利柳小塊煎得香,肉嫩滑.可惜咖哩汁稀而味怪,有一種香草腥味,味太甜而不夠香辛,跟龍利柳不合拍,又把紫薯蓉的香甜蓋過,著實是敗筆也.是日甜品是自家製橘子布丁,雖只是用一個小膠杯盛著,但入口橘味香,甜度適中,奶味不重卻又很滑,有點像豆花的質感,裡面還有不少橘子肉,清新可口.最後餐飲要了熱檸水作一個簡單的結尾.整餐飯好像吃過不少東西,但因主菜份量少,吃畢剛好,不會太飽.對成年男人來說可能太少,不過見到鄰桌的客人有加料,配紫薯蓉外再加了飯,相信也是大家可參考之方案. 總括而言, 食物有心思有創意,予人感覺健康舒服,值得一試. 繼續閱讀
