I have always imagined that if there is any good Omelette Rice in Hong Kong, then this would be the closest to the real Japanese thing. Afterall, the photos show promise - plus its owned by a world famous Noritake Tableware company! So here I was roughly 1.5 months ago on a weekend. Ordered Afternoon Tea with Coffee as well with an Omu-rice set:
Japanese Eggs Omu-rice with Chicken and Shiso - On the menu, there were a few Omu-rice options but none looked like they were going to work out in terms of combinations of flavours, as they were plain weird, some even had fruits in them. This seemed like a safer choice.
In Japan - there are 2 main types of highly regarded Omu-rices, not counting the poorer thinner versions. The Style A - more unusual one is a bit more fancier, as its laid on top of a rice instead of pre-wrapped, then the waiter cuts along the middle and the whole 'runny' omelette begins flipping over on itself. In theory this is harder to cook (but I believe the other Style B might be harder, if desired to be done completely perfectly) but in actuality Style A doesn't necessarily taste better as the egg layer is much thinner. With the more common Style B that we get here, the eggs really ought to be both runny and moist, thick, yet still holding its shape intact wrapped around the rice underneath.
Here, at first glance it looked promising enough.. Unlike most places which serve a separate thin Eggy pancake on top like a 和尚帶帽 dish, this looked like it had a thickish egg wrapped around the rice properly. Upon cutting it open however, I realised that the eggs were quite over-cooked and in the middle especially, there just wasn't enough thickness in the egg omelette. There also wasn't ANY eggs taste. The rice was also over-cooked and slightly mushy from the what seemed like commercial tomato sauce - they weren't as sticky as I'd have liked either as it was falling apart. There;s nearly no chicken despite the menu saying so, and little shiso taste. The positive thing about it is that, the external tomato based sauce was home-made from real tomato.
Overall - this wasn't bad but its not good enough. However to be absolutely fair, most regular Omu-rice in Japan aren't that flashy either, unless you visit the famous dedicated shops, usually run by old-style maids and butlers for some reason who like to pour sauce on the table for you. The choices available here weren't appealing either, not a single offering had the demi-glace sauce option which is usually available, I also wouldn't mind a curry or creamy one too.
I give it 7.0/10 for omelette, 4.0/10 for rice.
Afternoon Tea with Niji Self-Blended Coffee - This was more disappointing than the Omelette Rice. It contained dried sandwiches, overcooked Truffle oil infused Scrambled Eggs and very simple cake slices, 2 super hard scones with fresh cream and A(d)zuki red beans paste, Flaky breadsticks with an unmistakable supermarket purchased 'Cottees or Cadbury' chocolate dip with its unique sour and watery texture/taste that's such a put-off, its only possible usage would be to pour over ice cream as a topping for punishing naughty children!
The Regular coffee meanwhile was completely tasteless and even crema-less - yet they advertise it on big billboards with a Take-out discount special and you can buy their beans from the Noritake shop side as well (they're roasted in Hong Kong not imported from Japan).
A Major Disappointment - considering the shop's classy pedigree. Once again, we're getting duped. Although overall this doesn't deserve a Crying Face, as it was barely acceptably OK - I think NIJI and NORITAKE deserves one because it failed to delivery and I only came here believing naively that a 'Famous Brand name' would have tried harder to make the experience a more pleasant one for the customer.

與小友們的午餐 (一)....
今日更值得一提的是,連太座也是其中的座上客
聚會地方選了在海港城city's super旁的niji bistro。記得上次是一個人來吃她的招牌omelette rice,味道是還不錯,不過好吃歸好吃,要小弟重覆再點吃,倒是不太合自己一向愛試新東西的風格。望一望餐桌上的宣傳table stand,看到citibank的特惠午餐,菜式種類繁多之餘像是甚值吃。看來剛拿到手的新咭可以有用武之地了
侍者先端來一小杯冷日本米酒來開開胃,感到有點surprise。與酒暫時緣淺的小弟不能乾盡,只象徵式的呷了一小口,算是用來止止癮也未嘗不可
忙着吃別人的,差點就忙記自身的三小份前吃加湯類 ---- 煙三文多士伴青芥末忌亷醬做法極簡單,三文及多士只用來貨,只肯花點錢就能找到煙燻味足且夠油潤的三文及烘得香脆的多士,食味自然是有保證,醬料要調得合道也不是一件難若登天的事。可惜的是是日遇到的卻是below average水準的出品。心想始終是特惠午餐的一部份,那就不可以太吹毛求疵了;日式薯仔沙律倒是做得不差,薯茸磨得很細膩,有少許入口即化之感,而且有少許牛油香,不錯;湯是很普通的南瓜忌亷湯,質感跟之前喝的mushroom soup一樣,太稀了,不過多了點南瓜的清甜,比只喝蘑菇的沒有那樣的單調....
接着來的雜菓沙律杯就像在吃啫喱果凍,不好吃之餘感覺也很奇怪,用的雜果又是canned food,jelly又是淡且稀身。與其來以這杯"四不像"去奉客,倒不如來一小杯現成買回來的fruit sorbet就更實際啦....
此時偷吃了太太一小口的蛋包飯,發覺水平依舊。號稱來自日本的雞蛋口感滑溜,蛋香甚足,裡頭圓嘟嘟的日本米甚飽滿,沾上微酸的茄醬,令人甚開胃
小弟的主食是香煎帶子日本紫蘇醬扁意粉。帶子吃落竟帶點梳打味,鮮味是蕩然無存的,是雪藏的無異,不過不會煑得韌得咬不斷,已是bonus來了。紫蘇醬恕小弟不才,實在是吃不出有甚麼味道個性來。反而linguine處理得半生不過熟,al dente感覺十足,挽回了少許面子....
Dessert亦是有三小款奉客,的的骰骰的賣相確甚吸引 ---- 紅酒燴梨酒味甚濃,邊吃已邊在醉了
款式及賣相俱多及佳,但味道普通。絕不是小弟那杯茶已....

正巧路過又想找個地方抖一抖
於是就order了niji High Tea set (for 2)
Melon 很鮮甜, 應該沒有浸過糖水
Parma Ham 咸度適中
此為全個Tea Set 最好
Bruschetta很脆, 但Japanese Potato一般, 沒什麼味道
Cherry Tomato加左Herbs整粒去煎, 加埋Bruschetta一齊食
感覺和味道都怪怪的
而且tomato還tomato, 包還包
如果把Cherry Tomato 切碎如比較好
我比較喜歡Mushroom, 覺得不錯
但份量略為少
English Scone 完全沒有香味, 表面像菠蘿包
反而Red Bean & Fresh Cream做得不錯, 不會過甜
如果能配上一個鬆軟的Scone應該會好好味
好有芝士味, 而且餅底係用Oreo做, 不錯
朱古力味不夠, 但勝在有榛子味搭夠
沒有想像中好, 而且好細杯
雖然菜式不夠好, 但環境優雅
如果行街行到攰, 不防一試
每人只須$80就能Hea一個下午

Noritake & niji bistro。我早就知道這家餐廳是日本著名高級瓷器品牌 Noritake 的附屬餐廳, 其中以蛋包飯最著名。在我的想像中, 這家餐廳該是被亮晶晶的貴氣瓷器包圍的, 怎知原來只是毗鄰它的零售店, 而且真是一家設計簡潔, 而且雖然是半開放式設計, 但晚上卻有點昏黑的 bistro, 一開始不免有點小失望啦。
我們一坐下, 服務生即遞上以品牌碟子為造型的餐牌, 另有一張晚市二人套餐的餐牌。來這裡, 最要緊的當然是吃蛋包飯, 還有友人吃過讚好的 7 色沙律醬沙律; 既然套餐兩者都有, 我們就點了一個套餐了。
主菜前可選餐湯或沙律, 我聽從友人的意見, 揀了niji 廚師沙律。
沙律是用印有蔬菜圖案的方形碗上桌, 很合襯。其材料有煙三文魚、水煮日本蛋、火燙吞拿魚及柏爾馬火腿, 配上各式蔬菜, 當然少不了一字排開, 用 7 個 shooter 杯裝著的 7 種沙律醬啦圖中上而下分別是: 芒果、wasabi、千島汁、麻醬、香醋汁、味噌和梅子, 每款都各具特色, 不過我就比較喜歡平時少見的芒果、味噌和梅子味。其實 wasabi 味也好味, 不要看它好像樣子溫馴, 都幾辣的。最好玩的除了沙律醬之外, 就是那隻爆汁蛋, 用蛋汁撈沙律吃又是一絕。
主菜三選二, 這晚的蛋包飯是溶岩奄列鮮茄意大利飯 (露筍及雞肉) 伴日式咖哩汁, 另一款主菜就捨長通粉而要燒紐西蘭羊扒伴日本紫蘇汁。咖哩汁略嫌太多道真是要做到溶岩的效果, 搞到蛋包飯像汪洋裡的孤島! 其實好像平常蛋包飯加茄汁那樣加兩行在飯上便行了。裡頭的意大利飯也太濕了一點, 都給茄醬弄得有點黏糊糊的, 而且外面的始終是味道相對濃烈的咖哩汁, 因此蓋過了飯的味道。可能最正統那款蛋包飯會好吃一點, 不過這個也不算太差啦。另外那個燒羊扒呢, 排得靚靚, 要了七成熟, 生熟度也是弄得差不多的了, 至於那個紫蘇汁, 其實紫蘇是什麼味道的呢? 因為只像是普通燒汁的味道罷了。
套餐包甜品兩個, 是日甜品是橙酒朱古力慕思餅, 我點了來吃, 友這天不大想吃朱古力,就加 $10 要了雲石芝士餅配鮮果。我的朱古力慕思餅大大件, 相比友人的芝士餅是抵吃得多, 朱古力味濃, 其實伴著上頭的忌廉吃會沒那麼膩, 不過我不愛吃忌廉, 所以還是撥走了大部分; 橙味不是我事前看過餐牌的話可能也嘗不出來。
到了咖啡或茶的環節, 在之前食物水準平平的情況下, 倒是有個留前鬥後之勢。咖啡和茶的杯碟應是全餐最美的食具了, 因為主菜和甜品的碟子也沒啥花紋 (不過別小看了, 這裡用的食具都是 Noritake 出品, 貴嘢來的, 甜品碟是鍍上了白金邊的 Rochelle Platinum 系列呀
雖然食物沒什麼驚喜, 不過可以欣賞漂亮的餐具, 也算值回票價, 俾個笑啦。

是晚點了一份citi bank的優惠晚餐,另點了一份蛋包飯。
先來的是一份前菜,分別是蟹肉沙拉、薯仔沙拉和南瓜湯。每樣的份量都細細份,蟹肉沙拉是用wasabi調味,很刺鼻,不太喜歡。薯仔沙拉就是正常的味道,南瓜湯是最好的一味,很creamy。
然後是間場的雪笆,夠凍不過有點過甜,是芒果味來的。
主菜是明太子意炒,意粉有咬口,不錯。不過好像愈吃愈咸,不太對勁。
蛋包飯,選了橙酒汁,蛋是蠻滑的,飯粒粒分明,也好吃。只是覺得太「橙」了。
套餐的甜品也是細細份,個人覺得芝士餅味道最好。
另外想了好久要不要再點一個menu上的甜品,想著可能不會再來了,於是點了一個巧克力慕絲。賣相是很好,可是又有橙味,而且又不是很幼滑,有點後悔沒點panna cotta。
餐後我點了檸檬茶,不錯。男友的咖啡,原來不太好喝。
服務不太好,很趕很趕的。催落單,上菜極快,連雪笆沒吃完就上主菜,真的不太好啊。

這店以日本品牌"NORITAKE"的瓷器餐具為selling point, 當然那些杯杯碟碟也都令人賞心悅目
要了薯仔菜沙律,燒牛肉粒跟wasabi sauce為小食, 帶子龍蝦汁risotto為主菜.
沙律分開兩份, 一碗是薯仔沙律, 另一碗盛著新鮮蔬菜. 最注目的是呈上多達十款的醬汁
燒牛肉粒未知是否攤凍了才吃, 覺得十分之普道, 最不濟是十分之韌和有渣
帶子龍蝦汁risotto顏色是橙橙的, 吃到蝦汁的鮮甜
經過店員多番 “催促”後, 終也叫了甜品吃. 朋友要了香滑焦糖布甸, 看樣子也不錯, 我則要了橙酒朱古力慕絲蛋糕, 排場不錯也認真, 碟上有朱古力粉灑上的nuji字, 朱古力慕絲蛋糕份量也不小, 朱古力香濃中帶微微的橙香, 質地偏結實, 不算是滑滑慕絲, 但整體不錯, 全晚最好吃~~

上次沒有訂座,結果沒有得吃;今次預早打電話訂了位,卻發現空檯比客人更多,認真吹漲。環境方面,檯與檯之間的空間太少了,說話大聲一點也怕騷擾到隔離檯,很不方便。
一心來吃蛋包飯,這一味當然唔少得。望望餐牌,也有五、六款味道的蛋包飯,後來選了牛肉洋蔥蛋包飯。另外,我也想食意粉,再選一客明太子扁意粉,大家分享。
蛋包飯漲卜卜的,日本蛋呈很靚的黃色,賣相誘人。切開,蛋與飯都尚算緊貼,很黏口的珍珠米,加入了牛肉粒和洋蔥粒,味道也不太差,在香港吃過的蛋包飯,這裡算是有水準的了。當然,跟日本的出品還是差一點。真不明白,日本Food Court都可以做好的蛋包飯,在香港這美食天堂卻偏偏吃不到。
明太子扁意粉,上面鋪滿紫菜絲,撈勻後馬上試試。質感幼滑的意粉,每條均沾上明太子,加上美味的紫菜,不比蛋包飯差。
吃罷咸點,似乎未能滿足,還是要吃些甜品才覺完滿。甜品只得四款,選擇太少了,最終揀了紅豆綠茶芝士蛋糕和橙酒朱古力慕絲蛋糕。
先吃較淡味的紅豆綠茶芝士蛋糕,紅豆幾香,綠茶味得宜,蛋糕質感實在,甜度適中,是意想不到的好;橙酒朱古力慕絲蛋糕,橙味清新,帶點點酒香,朱古力味濃郁,質感幼滑濕潤,也令人回味。
結尾的咖啡和mohca,兩者均香濃可口,為今餐劃上美滿的句號。
服務生殷勤有禮,但稱不上專業,仍有改善空間。埋單二百六十蚊,價錢相當親民,我想我會再來的。

幾好幾抵食
99蚊3個course加飲品。個玉米creamy soup幾好味。
主菜係明太子烏冬,唔,本人唔識點欣賞,覺得有點兒簡單的味道,但都ok。 朋友吃蛋包飯, 幾好食,但食完好濟,好creamy。
甜品真的好好食,口感有點heavy, 再輕一點就更好味了。

事隔多年,一直與此味無緣,聽聞在海港城有間日式西餐廳"Noritake",除了賣碗碗碟碟之外,同時亦有日式西餐吃,其中一味蛋包飯,更是好評如潮.於是者便相約E小姐來個午飯.
未到一點的黃金時間,餐廳已經差不多坐滿,幾個女人幾個墟,氣氛總是吵吵鬧鬧,同身處街市沒有分別.午市只有套餐供應,付得起百多塊錢的朋友,可以來一個商務午餐,否則就吃個午餐吧.除蛋包飯之外,更有那些明太子烏冬,三文治,墨汁生蛋黃飯等,但我倆也是情歸蛋包飯.
頭盤有湯同沙律,二選一,大家也是要是日餐湯 - 番茄海鮮湯.用小碗盛上,份量不多,番茄湯味鮮甜,沒有死酸的情況出現,所謂海鮮,是少量的魷魚罷了.
蛋包飯的正名為香橙鴨胸蛋包飯,賣相別致.首先將其切開,吃包著飯的蛋,煎得香滑,不過看不見有任何蛋液流出.再嘗沾滿茄汁的日本米.飯身頗淋,鴨胸的煙燻味當然重,用的是外來貨,不用大驚小怪.飯粒上的茄汁味道不算出眾,因為被橙味所掩蓋.E小姐說是好像吃著"積及"橙餅,一石二鳥,蛋包飯本身有橙味,所以不用吃甜品了.
餐茶可要咖啡或茶,我不喝咖啡,要杯檸檬茶,價錢為每人$88,另再加一.價錢合理與否,視乎閣下之消費能力而定.
對我來講,在此環境之下,用差不多一百塊錢,吃個如此水準的午餐,真是肉赤.

訂枱服務 :
打去訂位時向店員說是朋友生日, 要求安排靜一點的枱.
和其他很多餐廳的回應"不能指定", 或"到時視乎情況才安排"的諸多推倘相反,
店員禮貌地答應了. 當天有打來confirm booking, 而且對方主動提到會為我們安排較靜的位置.
環境 :
門口附近的是向商場那邊開放式的座位, 客滿時不免會有較逼的感覺.
但我們被安排到店裡近廚房較盡頭的一張四人枱. 感覺較有私隱和靜.
食物 :
每一道菜的賣相都非常精緻.
沙律更附有七種不同而且得特別的醬汁(包括:wasabi,味噌,芒果,芝麻,醋, etc)任由配搭. 每種都各有特式. 好味!
主菜點了鴨胸蛋包飯, 明太子烏冬, 龍脷咖喱飯. 各款均不錯.
甜品的賣相和味道也v good!
檸檬茶用的茶很香!
服務:
非常滿意. 每位都殷勤有禮.
最感謝是我們當中的壽星女想要這店售賣的瓷餐具作生日禮物.
但當時己過了出售時間. 我們本想先選好款式, 打算改天再來買,
但店員們沒有拒絕我們的購買. 雖然已接近他們打烊時間,
但他卻熱心地打電話給他負責的同事查詢和賣餐具給我們,
而且更為我們細心地把瓷具一件件抺淨和包裝.
令我們的壽星女非常開心!

來去匆匆
對此店有期待,但實在太累,一個nap比吃重要,由得朋友叫吃的算了。 據聞蛋包飯是特色之一,不好飯的我也吃了不少。不知何謂正宗、有水準的蛋包飯;這個甚麼香橙鴨胸蛋包飯,個人而言蛋煎得恰到好處,飯的口感不俗,唯味道怪怪的,鴨胸切了粒沒有平時的香,橙味搶了風頭。焗三文魚芝士長通粉芝士香、味俱全,長通粉不是al dente但吃落爽口就是。即使對三文魚無口感,這個dish也很能impress我
還在擔心趕下場會遲到,早早回家放下重極的公事文件再裝扮出門是對路。我只叫了個macchiato醒醒神,朋友喝蘋果汁,之後就各自歸家。
服務可以。環境比想像中差,檯與檯之間空間太窄,出入不方便,私人空間感不好。二人檯子很小,喝個下午茶還可,兩個大大碟子的主菜上檯嘛,就要我們幫助waitress重新整理檯上擺設和用具才能讓她勉強地把兩碟東西安放好。
來去匆匆,還是另擇日子時間再訪吧。

這晚我有緣到了位於 TST 海港城的 noritake & niji bistro,欣賞這些原是供應日本宮廷的骨瓷餐具,同時也品嚐洋風料理中的 classic dish ... 蛋包飯
在服務上,這家開業不足一年的 bistro 其實算很不錯,我想在這裡盛讚一位 waitress ( 沒留意 nameplate),當晚有位較高佻的,樣貌清秀精靈,cheerful & enthusiastic,是我在這類餐廳見過最好的,也見到她給一些熟客拉著聊了兩句 ... 謝謝妳的殷勤招待
