上次來已是足足一年前的事了, 這天來太古城看早場 MJ 電影, 時間尷尬, 早餐未吃但等到看完戲才吃又嫌太遲, 輾轉之下, 還是回來了。

此時雖然已經有 brunch set 供應, 但我還是要吃些早餐食品才安樂, 所以今次就只專注於 bakery items。堂食要收加一。

整個餅櫃放滿麵包餅點, 琳瑯滿目, 真是難以取捨。
最後揀了一鹹一甜的麵包, 就回到座位等開餐了。
兩個包上桌的時候已各切好四份, 放在木砧板上奉客。(怪不得要收加一)

Spinach & Sweet Corn Bread ($14) - 包如其名, 主要的配料是菠菜絲和粟米, 但兩者味道都不明顯, 不過色水就幾靚, 而且麵包本身也幾足料, 不會像一般美心包般鬆泡泡的, 是一個飽肚的麵包。

Strawberry Danish ($14) - 它在麵包櫃內的時候我已被其美色吸引, 切開之後見切口極之工整, 連碎屑也沒有, 究竟他們是用什麼刀的呢? 酥皮富牛油香, 不是鬆化的類型反而很脆口, 伴以軟滑香甜的吉士, 和慷慨的四大粒糖霜士多啤梨一起吃, 一種甜點兩種 (以上) 的口感, 真是有外在美又有內在美呀!

堂食雖有水飲, 但服務生遞來飲品餐牌, 也就叫了一杯 Ginger & Grapefruit Juice ($20)。老實說這配搭倒是有點古怪的, 薑和西柚本身都有點苦澀味, 加上西柚汁的酸味, 果真像人生之百味。如果可以苦中來一點點甜, 豈不更佳?

這一餐是是九分的滿足 (那杯果汁扣了分喇), 那 MJ 的演出該是十分的王者風範了!

星期六去了太古城看MJ的"This Is It",在進場之前有大約一小時用膳時間.不想去Food Court吃快餐,行經這家餐廳,就姑且一試.侍應的招呼不錯,細心講解當天的選擇.最後點了蘑菰配燒春雞,由於已吩咐趕快上菜,所以大約落單後十分鐘,侍應就把所有東西一次過上桌,很有效率!

餐湯方面是南瓜忌廉湯,味道不錯,既有濃郁的南瓜和忌廉香味,另外也夠香滑.不過那塊餐飽,就不吃也罷了!至於主菜燒春雞,肉質恰到好處,不過略嫌醃得不夠入味.至於燒汁方面,非常不濟,竟然有苦澀味(或許因為煮焦了的關係).另一方面,碟邊伴菜也不太行,薯仔只是蒸熟,毫不香口.蘑菰也只得幾片,菜方面只有一些刀豆.整個菜,色香味也欠奉.餐茶方面是一杯茉莉花茶之類的,大大杯,不過入口有苦澀味.以一個一百元的午餐來說,絕對不此價!

之前好想來這裡，今晚願望實現，女友帶我來到，可能我太餓關係，我跑住入去…哈哈

無得一樣樣叫，得套餐吃，我點了番茄芝士漢堡（8安士），要餐前沙律同蘋果烏龍。

女友要了雞柳沙律，配餐湯，蘋果烏龍。

加十元送驚喜甜品，由大廚決定，我地完全不知。

漢堡餐…我覺得係個包最好味，外脆肉軟，跟住係舊番茄，然後到洋蔥，先到牛肉（有牛味，但無汁），最後係煙肉，舊煙肉唔吃都無問題，好硬下。

雞柳沙律…以菜為主，但D菜比較苦，無辦法，尼種菜—本身味苦，要靠配汁中和。
雞無味，尼個餐減肥人士吃就最好。

甜品係檸檬芝士蛋糕和極濃朱古力蛋糕（記得叫杯暖水先吃），記得吃了芝士先，先好吃朱古力，唔係就吃不出芝士的味道。

去了太古行街, 想揾西餐食下,
就唸起這兒有間Simplylife ~
7:00 還未到,己經有好多人在這兒排隊~ (這兒沒有"飛"派的)要企係到排呀~
為什麼一間餐廳有如此咁差的安排呢?
唯有等, 因為一行三人, 我見等咗一陣都無起色,就出外行行~
不夠十五分鐘己經有位...(好開心)

Set Dinner 由9x-13x (包湯或salad 及 茶或apple tea)

我們分別點了($128 羊架 ,$12x 海鮮意粉,$9x 烤雞凱撒沙律)

青豆忌廉湯, 幾好飲喎~ 好creamy
Salad~ 有紅菜頭, 生菜, OK 啦
主菜~ 羊架, 都幾好味,但佢吔既薄荷汁就.... 好唔掂, 個燒汁都差..... 仲有佢吔既芥辣都怪怪地....

主菜~海鮮意粉, 好好味, (有銀雪魚,魷魚,蝦,帶子) 個汁又好味....good

主菜~ 烤雞凱撒沙律~ 呢份賣相好掂, 可惜食食下發現有白色物体, 原來係雞油的凝固体, 好差呀~

飲品: apple tea, 無乜味, 一般者

甜品 加10元係由廚師安排的一件合桃朱古力cake, 味道麻麻.....

呢間嘢試一次就夠~

Second time to this restaurant in my memory, feeling very nice. After the whole day taking the freaking CRE exam, I was feeling very relax sitting in there. Had the Roasted chicken with vegi. I have to mention about the roasted carrot. I usually don't eat carrot, thought that it tastes a little weird. Unexpectedly, it was delicious, both taste-wise and texture-wise. The chicken went excellent with the balsamic vinegar sauce. The dressing of the pineapple salad was perfect, vegi was fresh.
They have their bakery on sale every night at 8, 3 for $23. We bought it for the next day breakfast. They were OK, nothing surprising though.
Overall, it was a very nice dinner. Will definitely return.

昨天是朋友仔的舊曆生日,
我地無打算點樣去慶祝,
所以求其搵間餐廳食飯就算,
於是行行下就chose呢間.
每人一個set,朋友仔食燒羊仔骨,
我就食烤魚,味道很不錯.
不過環境很嘈吵,侍應chit chat咁轉,
好似街市咁,總括黎講,不過不失!

其實試jor好幾次佢既cake..
不過之前懶得打,今次1次過打哂

cheese味好淡...真係好淡.....
但係佢有好多'lemon pay'係入面,幾特別

但係每次去多數都會揀番香蕉批,太正na!!
仲未試佢d 飽,因為我個心仍然都係係panash到>_

今日想食個有蛋的豐富早餐，但都已經中午，這個餐廳就有

烚蛋配波菜 、忌廉南瓜湯 、蘋果烏龍茶

只是麵包略略硬了點點，其他都好好，蛋是半生熟，大大隻

這店經常都是南瓜湯，不過都好好飲，夠熱同有好香南瓜味


英式羊肉批配椰菜沙律 、忌廉南瓜湯 、蘋果烏龍茶

第一次見餐牌有這款食物，之前又一城都無見過。一於試下

見到都有點擔心，都幾大件，批皮好香脆，羊肉餡無羶味，鍾意食羊的是不錯之選

忌廉、蕉糖朱古力、香蕉配得好好、好夾，皮底好香脆，但都會有少少 "餾"



只是枱與枱之間都幾貼，完全可以聽到隔離講話，未夠舒適。

湯和沙律各要一個。南瓜湯有很重的忌廉，亦有南瓜的清香，濃淡適宜，沒有馬虎。沙律更精緻清新，賣相巳吸引。
附送的紅莓汁，沒有選擇，感覺一般。
主菜是香燒雞胸，配上日本香茹，雞胸肉質嫩滑，日本香茹更入口清香，比一般鮮茹好吃。
另一份是意大利煙肉芝士牛肉漢堡，也是有水準之作，加上香口的薯角，真是飽得很。
也叫了一份芝士餅試，芝士味很濃又香。真材實料的一餐，身心都滿足。

老公說晚上要和我一起回太古城食飯, 老公還在太古城中心內的Simplylife Bakery
買了一件香蕉批給我, 這個批我想吃好耐了, 盒子包得很漂亮, 買的時候很開心,
滿心期待回家品嚐, 可惜回到家裡一打開個盒, 內裡的香蕉批散了, 美貌不保, 嗚嗚!!!
我很傷心呀~

味道方面仍然是好味道, 尤其是餅底, 吃得出是用好多牛油的消化餅做的,
面層的忌廉和中層的朱古力cream質地輕盈細滑, 仲有新鮮的香蕉,
令整個批的香蕉味道變得非常濃郁和突出, 雖然好食, 但我就覺得甜膩了一點,
可能因為底部拖肥太甜了, 不能多吃。

餅店提供的叉子很特別, 不是膠叉, 而是用木做的, 很有心思。

下次有機會想試試此店別的食物。

simplylife 係我既飯堂..每次諗唔到食咩都會去搵佢..每次都唔會令我失望..今日黎食個brunch...
我order 左個set..有頭盤salad一個. 雞肉burger. 同ice tea.

salad - 係誠意之作, 所有材料都好新鮮..好fresh..個 sauce 應該係orange juice 再加醋..好開胃..nice

個包表面仲好脆, 雞肉唔算係好滑..不過都唔會係鞋口果d...自己隨意加茄汁, 介辣.. 好好味..最正係個薯條ar..係厚砌架..外脆內軟...yummy..

bf order 左 chicken cesar salad..試左一啖..個sauce 好平均咁淋係每塊菜葉上, 唔多唔少...再加上d 燒雞..wah..都係好好味..果然係我既飯堂..

一坐低, waiter哥哥便向我們介紹是日推介菜式, 服務態度很不錯呢~
不過後尾我們還是決定要一個set加一客甜品share... 因為真的不太肚餓...

以中價貨來說, 這兒的品質算不錯了~
set的甜品waiter唔會講俾你聽, 想保持神秘感, 最終來了個Brownie... 這個是唯一我覺得比較普通的~
set以外另加一個Apple Almond Crumble~ 這個就真的很好吃^^ 蘋果不會太淋, 不太重肉桂味, 略嫌甜了一點點啦...

坐左出商場其實有點嘈... 如果有得坐餐廳就好了~

after having summerschool lessons i met up with my ma and went to this simplylife cafe for lunch. being attracted by the aroma and the i-think-it-looks-yummy-appearance of the newly baked bread (esp. danish), we persisted on waiting although there was a queue of about 6 persons(3 tables i guess). while waiting for our table i noticed that quite a number of people ordered the burger set. going on a diet, i had decided to give up the burger for something more healthy and less meaty.

at last! after waiting for ten mins, we got our table inside the cafe. the composition of the lunch set is:

1. daily soup or salad(as for today its either mushroom cream soup or beetroot salad)
2. a choice of main courses, ranging from brown rice to pasta to burger to breakfast fry-up
3. dessert

coffee or tea/soft drink/juice

if u order only main course ie.2 =%72
1+2 or 3=$82
1+2+3=$92

i ended up ordering an english big breakfast set while my mum ordered mushroom cream soup+brown rice with chicken

the eng breakfast was okay, size of serving is okay and the scramble egg is NOT overcooked. and the raisin toast is undoubtedly fine it goes very well with the butter, or the scrambled egg, or whatever and although it seems a bit strange to serve grilled 'GAI BEI MUSHROOM'(literal translation as chicken leg mushroom), the sliced mushroom were juicy and the grilled tomato as well as i am still on a slimming diet, i only ate 1/2 of sausage and bacon, but they looked very tempting and tasty

my mum liked the cream of mushroom soup but i thgt its too salty. she also said the bread which came with the soup was a bit too hard-the brown rice my mum ordered was okay, not too good not too bad.

as for the drinks-we both ordered apple wolong tea-they were fine.

to sum up-it was a fine lunch. but as i am quite a fan of frying pan, i cant help comparing this breakfast set with those served by FP. its quite unfair to compare this cafe with another brunch specialist-but i really like its scrambled egg. its even better than those served at FP, which can sometimes be overcooked and not runny enough.

ps. over 90% of the people around my table ordered the cheese burger. they looked extremely temptinggggg...perhaps i will give it a try next time.

pss. as for the environment of the cafe, it was pretty cozy but noisy during lunch hours.

pineapple salad: i like this salad very much as the sweet and sour salad dressing matches the pineapple so much, i guess the salad dressing is made of pineapple. however the bread is too dry and is not reheated which is a bit disappointing
all day breakfast: simple yet tasty. the bread this time is toasted and crispy, its great eating together with the fried egg. the bacon is not deep fried instead its slightly fried after boiled which seems healthier. the sausage is my favorite although its a bit too oily.
sweet and sour chicken brown rice: personally love brown rice very much, although the sauce is quite special, this dish is too oily for me.
apple pie: my favorite among the three, the apple is rich in cinnamon taste, the short-bread tart is crispy and tasty, this icy dessert is refreshing
walnut brownie: this cake is not too sweet as brownie used to be and its too dry. there is not too many walnut can be found.
i didnt try the cheesecake but my mother like it very much.she said its creamy and milky.

朋友話要豪食一餐!所以就黎左呢度食啦~

0係我地仲享受緊個湯同包時,maincourse就上左喇....完全唔夠位擺,如果可以等我地食完先上就好喇 =P
我既肉醬長通粉份量適中,不過長通粉唔夠"淋",食得唔係幾慣~肉醬就無咩特別~
朋友叫既burger+薯條,薯條勁粗,食完薯條都飽左一大半~

0係門口見佢d cake好靚~所以我地就跟餐叫左一件黎share~
不過無得揀食咩味ga~只可以揀係cheesecake定brownie,然後Chef就會揀一件俾你
我地既係好細好細件既Blueberry cheesecake,但食完咁多野,一人食少少試下都ok既~
