Finally had a chance to visit this famous traditional tea house! It was Saturday lunch time so it was totally packed.
Service was "old fashioned'' style so it was neither efficient nor courteous especially during these peak hours. They actually got our order wrong but the lady yelled at us when we said the dish wasn't what we ordered. My boyfriend got quite angry and almost refused to take the dish!
However, the food was DELICIOUS! I especially loved the 蓮蓉包. The buns were steaming hot when I got them and there was so much filling. They were sooooo good that I managed to finish 2 buns! The 馬拉糕 was so good too and I finished the whole thing
The tea was also very good. This place is worth visiting, but do try to visit during non-peak hours. Otherwise you would end up running around trying to grab the dim sums before they run out (it was the fun part though!)
Another thing is, I don't really agree with Openrice's introduction on this restaurant: 環境高貴舒適
Lin Heung Tea House is one of the oldest Hong Kong style restaurants in Hong Kong. Like many traditional restaurants, they serve dim sum only during the day, and main courses only during the night. Lin Heung's food is traditional and authentic, especially their dim sum, which makes the restaurant quite famous and popular among local people, as there are not many restaurants that still provide traditional dim sum nowadays. This older-style Cantonese restaurant is worth a visit for the tableau: old men reading the newspaper, extended families chatting and large office groups noshing. There's decent dim sum served from trolleys so it's good for a late bite or those eating alone. Despite its popularity and quality, it is not a good place for dim sum if your expectations towards the food and service are high. We walked past the ground-floor pastry shop and up the stairs, where we found a very simple room that's packed no matter what the time of the day. Don't expect to see any unoccupied tables in the restaurant. You should count your blessings if you found any seats that are not taken.

Weaving in between tables, the waitresses push rickety metal carts laden with all their specialties. I picked up the survival skills from my friends who had visited the restaurant to grab the food before they were taken. I dashed towards the waitresses with the card in my hand and grabbed whatever dim sum I fancied from the metal carts.
I personally give my thumbs-up to the traditional dim sum like Pig's Intestine Siu Mai, Quail Egg Siu Mai, and Kai Chat. However, the popular Ma Lai Koh is not really that nice as was boasted by many.
Lin Heung Tea House is definitely a perfect place to experience the ultimate authenticity of traditional dim sum.

當然要米芝蓮星星啦.....何況食佢arm時節(是日十幾廿度,食蛇羹補到爆血ga wor)
同埋arm budget.....
叫左五樣小菜,名物如炆頭腩、八寶鴨....Sori,欠奉。
蝦子海參 - 可能因為唔係遼參,蝦子底又冇同京蔥一齊落,唔夠入味;
生筋蜆芥鯪魚球 - 平時食鯪魚球唔點野的我,硬性食左件,okay wor,帶起左個魚味,而且仲有髮菜.....
上湯菜膽雞 - 用上湯浸夠佢,一d都唔老,我食雞胸肉都係咁話.....
瑤柱扒豆苗 - D豆苗只要唔老基本上我會同佢清碟GA LA.....
香煎蓮藕餅 - 好爽,熱辣辣,好有口感....
@自己都食左碗半飯既時候,竟然連+一100 PER HEAD都唔駛(爭一蚊)
都幾抵Wor....不過大家都見到唔見左最後既一樣野呢,所以,寒要去ifc趕下場啦.....

是十多年前的事了,曾經有一段時間,因為要每朝在早上返工前「收風」,所以早餐不是在陸羽,就是這裡,說什麼也要來這裡走一轉。
八時未夠來到,這裡已經坐滿人,搭檯是指定動作。這裡的伙記非常醒目,人坐下不久,已來開茶沖茶。喝茶可以用茶盅,怕熱又怕煩的用茶壺也行,依照自己習慣就好了。當然要喝這裡的普洱夠濃夠勁,是中式齋啡。
吃什麼點心,可以看看四周游移的點心車。但今時今日,如果要吃比較受歡迎的點心,還是要去廚部「截刧」的。這裡做得仍然出色的當然是包類,是日吃的是蓮蓉包,熱辣辣的香甜可口,外皮鬆脆,不可不吃。
埋單20蚊有找,大清早,吃不了那麼多,一盅茶,一籠包,就已經差不多。

係我hard sell!
但一行5人,當然去飲茶! 除開都覺抵番~
其實我在電影中得知這Tea House,一直想來品嘗!

正所謂「水滾茶靚」,普洱沖了成餐,顏色仍保持到!
在我幼時還有阿姐「推車仔」,但到了現在為了效率,轉哂點心紙!係方便了,卻少了份人情味!
食物方面,可以用「實而不華」形容,叉燒包、牛肉球等非常足料,最重要蒸完就推出來,熱辣辣程度不容置疑!
小弟還點了豬潤燒賣,好膩和膽固醇嚴重超標,但吃一隻,還撐得住!
但蝦餃、燒賣真係爭到......我好辛苦先拿到每樣一款! (=_=")V
蝦夠乾淨,我真係一啖一粒。
最近也有去吃,請留意「蓮香戰記第二回」

勁差的一餐
咕嚕肉番炸再加熱, 上檯望見個樣已唔開胃,連大家樂的即炒晚餐咕嚕肉好食過佢一百倍. 菜膽雞無味不特止. 仲要係唔熱, 雞肉又鞋. 雖然預左係雪雞, 一早整好晒, 只係淋番個"顯"汁, 但都唔駛搞到咁卦. 任何一間鋪頭都可以做得好過佢. 老字號整d 咁o野過人食. 真失禮佢自己個招牌
見樓下食評介紹薑蔥魚雲煲, 人地亞老爺一食舊魚雲又讚新鮮好味, 諗住叫番個黎試試佢. 殊不知單無落錯, 但廚房竟然出左個薑蔥蒸魚雲, 上檯見碟魚雲, 煙都唔煙下, 成碟o野白檬檬. 色香味俱"無". 點敢試呀, 仲唔叫亞叔拿拿林cancel 咩!
其餘的小菜, 不堪一提, 焗魚腸叫左, 等左一輪亞叔先行埋黎話無魚腸. 白飯魚炒蛋, 數得出有幾多條白飯魚, 炒得唔夠干, 亦唔夠香. 不過以當晚水準黎講, 呢味已係唯一合格的餸. 生菜扣鵝掌. 凍冰冰. 鵝掌炆好晒就咁鋪d 菜上碟, 大家各有各, 一d 都唔入味. 魚唇生菜. d魚唇碎濕濕, 就咁同菜炒埋一碟. 無賣無味道. 真難想像有一餐飯可以差成咁. 仲要係一間老字號, 半百年歷史的蓮香樓, 到底大廚個晚有無番工呢下...
唯一可以讚下嘅就係serve我地個檯個位亞叔, 服務態度夠認真同盡責...

食物麻麻..伙計態度差!
至於伙計咯喎!哈!...我發覺好多舊式既/老牌既/出名既食肆,d伙計既態度都係比麻麻更麻麻個喎!啱既..無論佢對大家點衰,大家都會繼續幫襯架啦!就算香港人唔幫襯,外地遊客都會幫襯呀!所以...怕乜啫?!
但偏偏我就係唔受呢種"老奉"差既服務態度!
好似今次咁,我第一次幫襯,唔知道d伙計原來係"分區"既,唔係佢管轄範圍既話,佢係唔會"蘇"你架!咁我不知就裡地咪嗌咗隔離組位伙計開茶...佢即刻一輪咀咁掃過黎,話乜野你嗰檯唔係搵我架!係搵番你嗰邊d伙計架!你唔好嗌我呀!我唔會同你開茶架!我唔得閒理你架!wow...咩野事??飲餐茶啫!咁一係將間酒樓同d伙計制服都整到好似紅館咁分開顏色區別咪唔會攪錯囉!

蓮香樓's 蓮蓉包&馬拉糕

一切依舊
老式風味~~~
口感佳但味道略缺的豬手。
雖然起床時已經11點鐘,有極大機率在抵達蓮香樓時招牌點心已被一掃而空,但我還是執意選擇蓮香樓作為2010年的第一餐。
為何?熱熱鬧鬧的開始新的一年呀!
正逢連續假日的中午吃飯時間,觀光客比平常更多。抵達時見到約莫十人的團體站在門口,人手一部相機,用台灣口音的普通話彼此交談;上到樓梯口聽到在詢問的糕點的兩位女士也是台灣口音;塞在埋單處,應該是見到蓮香樓的第一面感到震撼而不知該前進、後退的一大群人,依然是台灣口音。
是我太敏感?還是真的這麼多台灣人在元旦假期來香港玩?
熟門熟路的我很快「推開」觀光客,問問同桌的人可否搭檯後,便坐下來等著一切依舊的儀式開始。
很串的阿叔與阿姐、髒髒的檯面、便宜好喝的茶碗普洱與水仙、一擁而上搶食物的饕客、賣相差入口極佳的點心,一切一切依舊。
先來一份「糯米雞」。不知是否因為放久凍凉,糯米雞僅有中間部分夠熱,四個角落有點水水且溫度不足,失敗。
大力女王喜歡吃蓮香樓的「鳳爪」,夠軟嫩而且味道十足。今日不知是凍凉了或是真的蒸的溫度不夠,雞爪的尖端有點硬而冷,失敗。
沒有試過蓮香樓的「豬手」,所以拿了一籠試試。口感很好,豬疲軟脆適中,但是味道差了一點,是少了八角嗎?
「蓮蓉包」依然是沉甸甸,但是往往賣像極差,咬下去後,熱呼呼的蓮蓉與蛋黃濃濃密密。內在美勝過外在美之處,在於內在美比較永久。
沒有試過「鵪鶉蛋燒賣」,難得有見到於是乎趕緊來一籠。蒸的恰到好處,鵪鶉蛋夠滑嫩,燒賣的豬肉依舊份量足且新鮮有彈性,又得多加一樣值得推薦在腦中了。
最後來了一籠我最愛的「燒賣」。夠Juicy、夠新鮮、夠咬勁、夠彈性,每次吃都維持一貫美味。
迎接新的一年心情好,違背平日一盅兩件的習慣,兩個人合計多吃了兩件。依然看著熱熱鬧鬧的人潮來來去去,鬧轟轟的聲音依然此起彼落,推食物的阿姐依然是滿臉殺氣,阿叔依然熟練的倒水入碗。
一切依舊的基礎上,2010年再更近一步吧!

牛肉腸粉
人山人海的蓮香樓,通道都站了不少等位客人,點心車一出,又擠滿了人。差點要打退堂鼓時,又找到了位。
開了香片茶,仍然水滾茶靚,仍然滿桌猶如澤國。
飽得很,趁完熱鬧吃雪糕去。
無論如何,我仍愛這舊式茶樓,巳有現代版的蓮香居了,願這裏一切如舊!

豉汁排骨
戰友多次搶灘失敗,究其原因是不敵一眾食家的人海戰而敗退。一向喜愛單挑的我這次也不鬆懈,跟深明formula one戰術的朋友仔,一同深入「蓮香」這個食家必爭之地,誓要一親點心香。
十二月初的一個暖洋洋的冬日,跟朋友仔來到「蓮香樓」。腳踏過門檻,便感到樓上一股股不耐煩的氣息。
我們瞬間轉移到樓上,首先跟我們短兵相接的是....
「喂,幾多位呀?」原來是白衣企堂。「兩個。」當然不敢怠慢。
「這邊。」剛好是在點心房外的一張六人枱有兩個位。點心房,食家必爭之地!! 任何點心也逃不過我們的法眼,哈哈!
我倆一坐下,環顧四周,不少正在等位的行家也眼勵勵瞪著我們。嘿,勝者為王,你奈得我何?
甫坐下,先來一壺普洱。大滾水沖出來的香濃普洱在咀裡游走,小時上廣東茶樓的感覺回來。茶過三巡,便開始我們的點心大作戰。
小試牛刀,朋友仔先以formula one戰術,把其他食家隔開, 而我一個箭步,來到點心車前,成功奪取牛肉球和豉汁排骨
牛肉球肉汁夠,口感軟軟的。
吃過後,本小姐嘗試單打獨鬥。走到點心車,便聽到一陣陣的呢喃聲 - -
「…魚翅餃、魚翅餃、魚翅餃、魚翅餃…」
在喃喃人聲催眠下,也不由自主地叫了一聲「魚翅餃」。點心大姐便把最後一籠魚翅餃放到手上。那刻,頓時感到一股股的殺氣迫近,斜眼看去,駭然發現十多對目露兇光的眼睛看著安,「君子不立危場之地」,本小姐以在木人巷學得的貓步,閃回座位。
魚翅餃,找不到魚翅。不過,肉餡很香,肉汁豐富,正。
之後,再下一城,拿下傳說中的鵪鶉蛋燒賣和豬潤燒賣。兩者也非常好吃,蒸得剛剛熟,所以鵪鶉蛋很滑,豬潤很柔軟。兩者的肉汁也很滋味。十分讚 :-)
我們也有吃其他的燒賣和糯米雞,味道不錯。
下次一定決戰千層糕!

真係好味但係......
終於可以同honey 嚟食,呢度好多人呀~ 地方又唔大喎~ d 位又迫... (可惜依然好多人嚟....)
等咗一陣,男友揾到位呀~ 我們即刻坐低~

唯一呢度唔好處,係地方超細,環境好迫,d waiter 又超無禮貌喎
食物一推出嚟就好似搶食咁... 好快就無晒lu....
我同honey 叫咗蓮蓉包, 馬拉糕同魚翅餃三樣嘢咋~
maybe 地方太細啦, 又要同人搶... 我最憎架...
不過呢度既蓮蓉包真係好得, 不是出面既白蓮蓉料, 佢吔係傳統既黃蓮蓉呀~ 味道好好味, 蛋黃又香... 到現在我也很回味...
馬拉糕~ 好難係出面揾到咁傳統, 其實呢度做得並不滑,有少許"鞋"口感, 就正正係傳統既口味呀~ 實實地, 又香又好味~ (比我搶到中間過少少既部份... haha) 真係要搶食呀~
魚翅餃並無特別呀~
雖然係三樣嘢食,但好味己經足夠了

蓮香茶話
今天的蓮香,原來是個宣傳的鬧劇。
媽媽喜歡喝濃茶,家中的普洱已喝清了,路過蓮香樓,不忘打包陳年普洱回家。
又見有些餅點順道打來作送茶的小品,而湯包摸上手還是暖暖的,新鮮出爐買了包給喜歡湯品的食友。
普洱加以滾水沖泡,色濃味醇,開夜時偶也會泡上幾回,勉強能支撐一個深宵,至於餅點,很硬亦很粉糜,除頂肚外,亦沒什麼的好。

傳統風味的中式茶樓
下晝特登去試蓮香樓
地方有d迫,一張普通枱坐六七個,地下又放左2個痰罐同水煲,同埋成日有水,所以行路要好小心,因為佢唔用枱布,所以洗完杯碗又係好濕
因為我好鍾意食馬拉糕,但係因為2點幾先去食,千層糕同馬拉糕都賣晒
可能因為晏去,所以坐左一陣黎黎去去都係牛肉、准山雞札,同埋開始少野食
d人要喺廚房門口等車推出跟住去搶

有3隻,但係佢3隻係成隻爪,唔係出面茶樓一隻切開n隻咁
好好食,d 根真係一條條,唔會淋晒,d 醬都唔會一pet pet
好耐冇見過真係有准山,魚肚又唔似有梳打粉製過,d雞味唔似雪雞,好食
ok 嘅,本身唔太好食豬手,但係都好味
個包好重身,應該係d 麵粉問題,一撕開,好多蓮蓉,好大個蛋黃,但蓮蓉唔算太甜
好有蓮蓉味,唔係得個甜字,正!
同准山雞札差唔多,只係冇左准山同雞,都好食
