Went there for lunch today with my friend! Wow, it was so crowded already at 1pm!!!!
Service was definitely crap, but it was expected! haha! But seriously, the dim sum here is soooo cheap, definitely worth going if you don't mind the crappy service and crowded area!!!!
We ordered the following dishes:
1) 揚州炒飯 ($50): very big portion! Wow, big enough for 3-4 people! It was a bit wet and not oily! Lots of barbecue pork! Pretty ok 2) 叉燒包: it was really nice! Big and the barbecue pork didn't taste oily at all! Good dish! 3) 千層糕: soooo nice!!! Highly recommended: the filling inside is the best! 4) 馬拉糕: not bad, pretty ok 5) 鯖: not bad either 6) 腐皮巻: very delicious 7) 蝦蛟: nice prawns! Nicely steamed 8) 燒賣: same as 7) - nice prawns and nicely steamed
This place is definitely cheap!! We had so many dishes and ended up just paying $166 for 2, i.e. $83 each!!! So cheap!!!! Definitely worth it if you don't mind the crappy service and the crowded seating!!!
Will definitely go there again though for dinner, which can be booked! The food here is generally pretty good, cheap and not too oily! A bit too crowded though and it's better to go there as early as possible to get a seat
Funny thing is, after having all of the above dishes, I didn't feel stuffed, which was great Service can be improved though. Some of the waitresses looked very 兇...

the food: we canceled the stuffed duck, which we shouldnt have, we didn't reserve for the 焗蓮蓉西米布甸, which we should have. wrong thinking. we had also deepfried softshell crab, crispy, little powder, good. 蓮藕餅: not much taste, cant distinguish the 蓮藕 inside. lucky it wasnt salty, but we actually asked for more lea and perrins cos it actually tastes better than the 蓮藕餅. soup of the day: 菜乾豬肺湯, 正! 鬼馬牛肉, salty, and extremely salty when eaten cold (the almighty air conditioning...) steamed scallop on tofu with blackbean sauce, hard to mess up. but the 竹笙芥菜, one of the so-called traditional dishes, SUCKS. the ingredients are fresh alright, but the 獻汁 looks exactly like 鼻涕. i can't believe 蓮香 would come up with a dish so poorly prepared. i wouldn't make any dish with 獻汁 like that. it's a total failure. since we havnt reserved for the 焗蓮蓉西米布甸, we wanted to try the steam 蓮蓉 bun, but the waiter said they dont make it for dinner, which i remembered they did last time i came.
having said that, we decided to go again next time for the duck and the 布甸, only we would try to avoid the freezing cold table.

Worth going and cheap, but crowded!

周日中午例必人山人海,幸好流量快,不用等一會便找到個位坐低.當坐下才發覺,忘記買報紙,而友人亦未到,怎樣去打發時間?
唯有拿著茶盅泡下茶,一邊吃一邊等,蓮香的點心吃得太多了,見到新鮮炸起的咖喱角,還不是忍不住要了一碟.熱辣辣的咖喱角,香脆又可口.友人一到,點心亞姐即刻推著馬拉糕過來.這一次命中注定,係你就係你,無得避.
一大籠馬拉糕,只買剩邊位,想要件中心位也不能,而且應該放上了一陣子,沒有新鮮出爐的熱辣辣.不吃點心,可吃碟頭飯,夏去秋來也要個鴨腿湯飯,說起也慚愧,來過蓮香樓多次,也未吃過鴨腿湯飯呢.
飯與湯分開上,這樣做可以避免飯粒一早浸到淋.帶有點點陳皮,同莧茜香的湯底,味道清甜.湯內的鴨腿肉質軟稔鬆化,J小姐又再想起上年的大局,吃過的八寶鴨.
馬拉糕車再出現在我們面前,今次要收復之前的失地,再要多一件,今次是中心位,新鮮出爐的馬拉糕特別香,吃落更鬆軟,但是再吃下去,就有點實.
總算如願之後,便結帳去,蓮香樓這個老字號,同老麥等連鎖快餐一樣,可用八達通結帳,八十多年歷史的老店,也懂得去與時並進,比起那些三十未到,便已經食古不化的"打壞"好得多.

在"香港蓮香樓"(中環)買了"香港蓮香樓~蓮香老餅家"出產的"雙黃蓮蓉月餅"($162~約756克[共四個])。隨月餅贈送"河陽舊普洱"茶葉(約126克)。
"蓮香樓",原名連香樓,創建於清光緒十五年(西元1889年),至今已有一百二十年歷史,總店位於中國廣州市荔灣區第十甫路(上下九步行街)67號。
"蓮香樓"除了經營傳統粵菜之外,蓮蓉、月餅、龍鳳禮餅、雞仔餅、嫁女餅等更是中外馳名,而且有「蓮蓉第一家」之美譽。
"蓮香樓"於西元1926年在香港開設分店,雖然現在兩者在經營運作上已經脫勾,但也可說是同源異枝。"香港蓮香樓"位於香港中環威靈頓街160-164號。
"河陽舊普洱"茶葉---雖然是贈品,但份量蠻多。普洱茶味濃郁,味道甘香。

聽說是裝修過後的, 裝修前我還沒有過呢~
店內人山人海
沒有叫一人一碗茶(沒有聽錯的話,只有普洱和水仙),我們叫了平常喝的香片,男朋友先取了
之後我們還取了
最後我們二人飽得捧著肚子走,埋單已連每位茶8元,總共盛惠105元!臨走時在樓下看到一盒盒古式中秋月餅,很想買一盒走呢!哈哈!

Good good la............可以再去!
初初有D懷疑D嘢好唔好食?點知比想像之中好,尤其是魚肚札同魚翅餃最好食,其他的都不錯.只係豬膶燒賣麻麻地,因為豬膶好「鞋」,唔好味!
店內仍有推車仔的嬸嬸,同不停來回沖水的叔叔,一人一盅,好有FEEL!
見到人地食叉燒飯,兩條大大條叉燒在飯面,沒有切片的.而另一邊又有人食燒肉飯,飯面鋪滿燒肉, 下次真係想再來試過.
3個人食了9客點心都係$158,好抵,因為唔洗加一.

北菰燒賣,燒賣吃出蝦殼鮮味,非常美味。
腸粉粉皮不會一夾就斷。馬拉糕很香。
鳳爪咸水角普通。
麻蓉包足料大大個,加上大蛋黃,一個人獨吞是非常的滯。
有時間心情和quota的話,可以再幫襯

舊式茶樓之行
服務唔知係唔係咁都因而好o左, 叔叔們斟茶的速度快o左, 不過好似多o左好多新面孔! 三個人一人一盅普洱茶, 第一沖, 用嚟洗杯; 第二沖, 苦過弟弟, 第三沖開始先可以入口, 不過味道好苦
點心好少, 一出嚟就好似要去搶咁樣, 唔知係唔係物以旱為貴, 蓮香都深知此理, 所以都唔會一次過推好多點心出嚟
最好味的, 係個豬肚燒賣, 豬肚大大塊, 都幾爽, 但件燒賣好似有少少異味, 其他點心其實只係一般, 值得嚟, 係因為舊式茶樓買少見少, 但如果嚟, 要預o左迫同漂白地拖的味

懷舊菜、懷舊店,原來好多人都未去過!!?
book左位7:30pm,都要等到7:50pm先可以入座,一晚可以做到2-3輪枱,真犀利!!
book枱時已經order左霸王鴨(煮到連骨都可以吞埋)、炆班翅(我個fd以為我叫魚翅食=.=")、冬瓜盅(無味精、好好飲) & 布甸(低層有花生糊味,正),坐定定8pm叫餸時,焗魚腸 同 聖子都售罄了,真係太好生意,激死
我地一行十人,估唔到有一半人未曾來過蓮香飲茶食飯,真的嗎,"和bu生先"??

鮮魷通菜
鬼馬牛肉
生炒上肉排
看了餐牌選了鮮魷通菜,姜蔥牛肉煲,生炒上肉排,蓮藕餅,鬼馬牛肉加上已預訂的八寶鴨和冬瓜盅應差不多了。
等齊人就上菜了,這裏的上菜速度真是快得驚人,由叫上菜到全部的菜到齊才不到15分鐘。
冬瓜盅(需預訂)︰份量十足,六人吃每人可吃到三碗左右。材料有火鴨、帶子、鮮蝦等。味道清甜,有淡淡的冬瓜香。
八寶鴨(需預訂)︰先把蓮子、栗子、咸蛋黃等餡料放入鴨內再以上湯炆至糜爛。只要用匙羹便可輕易劏開。鴨肉一點都不硬但吃落就有一點干。餡料十分入味。
鮮魷通菜︰鮮魷爽口,蝦醬味濃。
生炒上肉排︰看上來與咕嚕肉相差無幾。吃落粒粒都是骨,味道與咕嚕肉一樣。
姜蔥牛肉煲︰牛肉太咸,只有吃牛肉的感覺但沒有牛肉味也吃不到蔥香。
鬼馬牛肉︰油炸鬼+馬蹄+牛肉。如姜蔥牛肉煲般牛肉太咸,但馬蹄得甜。
蓮藕餅︰十分香口,吃到一粒粒的蓮藕粒口感豐富。
雖然這裏的侍應都是比較年長,但服務依然很好,一見我地想再由冬瓜盅取湯都主動上前協助,吃完的菜很快己有人來收碟。

時間上的錯誤
來到應該差唔多十二點, 樓上巳坐滿晒人, 好不熱鬧, 來到呢度, 太多人難搵位, 人少就要預左搭枱, 有位侍應叔叔一見我地就即刻搵左二個位俾我, 真係多謝晒
叫左壹茶, 今次無要茶杯, 男友即時鑼左點心紙出去, 返來時枱面多左籠蝦蛟, 叉燒腸粉, 蝦蛟皮厚左少少, 但腸粉唔滑而且皮真係厚得好誇張,入面既叉燒唔係平時係茶樓食的, 總之唔好食.
其實未來之前巳做好功課, 知道九點前才有大包, 中午有麻蓉包, 所以預計今天終於食到麻蓉包, 點知問師傳說巳售罄, 唉, 難道我同它們無緣?
今日雖然都係食唔到大包及麻蓉包, 但食到勁好味的臘腸卷, 我巳好滿足, 下次要較啱時間來再試過, 傻瓜, 收到沒, 你願唔願意陪?
