Came here with boyfriend for lunch as we weren't sure what to eat. The place looked interesting ... well, to be honest, it reminded me of the Chinatown Vietnamese restaurants that I had eaten all my life while in Canada. Growing up with in a city with a huge Vietnamese community, the Vietnamese restaurants were just like this. Nothing fancy. Just some tables, chairs, a few photos of Vietnam. Serving up pho and other Vietnamese food in a simple way. Nothing fancy. Just comforting. The place even had a HUGE boombox. Just like what I would find in Chinatown.Menu was in Chinese and English. Staff spoke excellent English as a couple of Caucasians came in for take out and he took their order. Even making conversation with them.We ordered a New Halong Bay pho which included raw beef, beef brisket, beef balls and beef tripe. The soup had a strong hearty beef flavor. The rice noodles were soft. The beef brisket was soft. Portion size was rather small. The butter chicken was so unhealthy. It tasted and smelled exactly what it was fried in ... butter. If you want to have a heart attack but still go off with a smile, this is for you. To me, it was just way too unhealthy for me to go on.Tri meat Vietnamese rice was interesting. It came with lemongrass pork chop, Vietnamese sausage and Vietnamese meatloaf and a side salad.  The salad was nice and tart. The lemongrass pork was really soft and fried quite well. The Vietnamese sausage was also fried which is different as most just slice it as is.The Vietnamese meatloaf was something I never heard of. It was basically meat mixed with vermicelli. It was pretty good except it had a lot of MSG. It had so much MSG, my throat clenched up from being so thirsty afterwards. I think it would have been better if it didn't have so much MSG.The restaurant's fish sauce was also pretty good. It was not too fishy and not too sour. A good combination.Boyfriend ordred the coconut tri color drink. The coconut milk was so thick, it was like creme. It was strong with coconut and not watered down like many Vietnamese places.Service was friendly. The two guys who worked the place chatted with the customers. Making conversation with all who came in. Were they friends or related? I don't know but they seemed to love what they did and cared for everyone around them.Would return again if I needed a good pho that reminded me of home.
