I am sure a lot of "open ricers" are a coffee addict like myself~ I drink at least 2 cups of coffee everyday~
I have to confess that I usually get my cup of coffee at those chain coffee shops for my own convenience.
my friend and I both didnt want to go to those chain cafes (over crowded) that evening so we ve decided to stop by cafe corridor for a cup of coffee.
this was my 4th visit to this cafe and i must say it was by far the worst experience ever.
we ordered two cups of mocha and scone.
we waited for a long time for our drinks to come (the cafe wasn't full at the time) and they even delivered our drinks coffees to the table next to us(who arrived later than us and also ordered 2 mochas).
both of our mochas arrived to our table warm and didnt really have a slight taste of chocolate at all.
scone was very plain and dry even with the given butter/cream.
after having our cups of mocha there that evening, both of us kinda regretted for not getting our cups of coffees at one the regular chain cafes just across the street at Times Square.
This was the café I considered the best on the Hong Kong island and second to Crema in TST East. I used to recommend everybody that there’s no excuse not to have a really good coffee if you’re in Causeway Bay. Also, their food offering was the best I had among cafés.
My latest visit this afternoon kinda confirmed the food part. The apple tart tasted quite nice but it still maintained a "slow" food culture. The coffee, however, was lagging vs. its superb past.
It’s my understanding that Café Corridor changed the coffee blend from Acqua to a darker roast Terra some time between my last visit a while back and this one. Felix, the proprietor, told me a long time ago that he himself preferred a lighter cup of Acqua blend, particularly for espresso/ristretto but the darker roasted Terra blend was more economical for café operators as it easily punched through milk based drink. In a way, its ristretto was still quite nice but I missed lots of nuances in cups I had had at this café.
My Capp was served with chocolate/cocoa powder and, if this happened, I typically ordered a new one without the powder. However, I hit my ceiling today for caffeine so I tried my best to tell you what was in the cup.
The temperature of the cap was quite high but still within the right temperature range. The milk texture was superb like in the old day but the sorrow latte art was nothing close to nice ones I had in the past there. The coffee punched through the milk much better which was in line with the Terra blend but I really missed a more mellow Capps I had in the past at Café Corridor which came from lighter blends.
While I still considered Café Corridor one of the best café in HK, the gap is getting narrower with Soft Aroma and Coco Espresso breathing on its neck despite a different style. One good thing is that the shop was jam-packed during my visit and I hope they consider going back to their glory past with a lighter roast blend.

Cafe Corridor,名如其店,有點隱秘的感覺.從Levi's側的小巷直入,便會通往僅可容納約10人的咖啡店.(另有室外座)週日的下午,身體很渴求一口咖啡因,會合阿梁前,孑然步入此店,瑟縮於吧桌,喝下skim cap$28.原心儀soy cap,無奈待應幻聽,唯有照單全收.
skim cap泡沫豐滿企身,咖啡入口順滑具香氣,略加少許甜意已讓人追著喝!
自助式服務,先付錢,後取咖啡,服務生亦彬彬有禮.

星期二想和朋友2個人找個冇咁多人的地方吃午餐+喝杯好咖啡,於是想起Cafe Corridor
我點的是鴨胸意粉,朋友點蘋果栗米沙律
等了半個鐘,剛想找人投訴時,食物剛剛到 -- 然後明白點解要等半個鐘
朋友的蘋果栗米沙律好明顯是剛切起,不是早上整好你中午要先在冰箱拿出來給你哪些貨式, 跟上的熱騰騰焗起麵包充滿rosemary香味, 沒有任何花巧, 只有新鮮2個字
我個個鴨胸意粉, 又是新鮮整起, 難得是意粉煮得剛剛好, 很多西餐廳也煮不到這個口感
最後來一杯他自家用不同種類咖啡豆調配的秘製香濃咖啡, 簡單的一餐, 但食物新鮮+用心調製, 很滿足!!
想起聽過一個做advertising的人說, 做廣告要緊記K.I.S.S.:

多一個hea的地方選擇
我地分別叫左 mango/banana smoothie 同cappuccino,一個size,份量適中,先後叫左walnut muffin 同 pan fired mushroom with egg所有食物不錯吧,幾欣賞個蛋小食,原本唔期望個muffin會好食,但試左又唔太差,試過麥記/PC/SB/MField的muffin,最好食首選MF,但呢到的以價論貨,選是不錯,咖啡唔係尊家,對於我第一啖入口的味道好緊要,太苦太甜,即該知,總算過得到我的味蕾,蠻好,試過飲一口女友的smoothie,感覺清香有生果味,不太差,連我女友都話唔錯,就得架啦,佢食野都算咀刁^^。
整體都過得去,peak hour我估搵唔到位的機會機會幾高,想一個人黎享受下,就要搵d自己放假或者返工時間....

當獅子遇上熊仔
所以係喥變左一餐普通DINNER啦 。
今晚我叫左一個獅子蛋包飯加一杯熊仔Mocha,
朋友仔就叫左All Day Breakfast加心形Capp.
當我既獅子蛋包飯上枱時, 真係好想大叫嘩~~~好CUTE呀,
不過我冇咁做到, 反而係杯Mocha上場時, 就真係叫左出黎, CUTE成咁真係好可愛呀。
不過值得一贊係佢地服務好細心, 因為我遲遲都唔捨得食我既獅子蛋包飯,
佢地竟然走黎問我係唔係有咩野問題喎, 我答我係等埋朋友既All Day Breakfast上場呀,
不過其實我想答佢, 獅子蛋包飯太可愛有啲唔捨得食左佢呀。哈哈哈
PS: 啲食物味道都OK架

4月中去日本旅行同探朋友,見到周圍都係一種叫glaceau vitamin water的飲品,當時問朋友尼隻飲品係乜,點解好似周圍都係尼個產品。(東京就連H&M都有得賣
點知第二日,係酒店出黎再約左朋友食飯,佢竟然帶左一份禮物俾我......係一set 6支既vitamin water......佢見我尋日對尼個飲品有興趣, 於是買哂6隻味俾我......感動......>_<
今日去cafe corridor 飲coffee,竟然俾我見到尼個product!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

銅銅鑼灣出沒篇I: 為意外作準備***
大概12 點出到cwb,因為要為「意外」做準備,其實就係因為有OR送既戲飛,今日就約左中學同學BANBAN去睇,咁我就特登早D去買左飛先,廢事夜晚先買無哂位。
咁買完飛之後,就梗係要食個LUNCH啦,食完先返HKU做野! 咁一直知道呢間野,又未試過,佢又係TIMES SQUARE 對面,咁就黎左呢度食啦! 一入到去都兩三檯客,環境幾好喎,幾舒服咁。而且有好多唔同既野食! 第一次黎唔識規矩,原來佢係要係CASHIER ORDER同俾左錢先既,下次知道啦!
佢有DAILY SPECIAL既LUNCH,有 3 款,不過 3 款我都唔太想食,最後我就叫左個All Day Breakfast再加杯mocha啦。佢有好多雜誌係度,咁我就拎左兩本係等既期間慢慢睇啦。等左大概 15 - 20 mins 就黎野食啦。好鬼肚餓呀!
外貌好吸引,佢個薯餅仲加左個哈哈笑樣添,so cute! 首先D菜佢加左D檻欖油同醋,酸酸地開下胃。炒蛋都算炒得滑,但偏淡左少少,可能我喜歡濃味啦,而且有D易散。跟住仲有腸仔,個腸仔好好食喎,好惹味! 最後就仲有個薯餅同埋兩塊多士伴牛油,薯餅好食好多料一D都唔油膩,加埋少少茄汁,好食! 多士好脆卜卜,有香草味。份量唔算大,但對女仔黎講份量應該算係剛剛好。
MOCHA好香好滑,勁濃朱古力再加淡淡既苦澀味,好飲! 飲完人都精神D!
雖然價錢唔便宜,但質素唔錯,而且地方又幾舒服,仲可以自己加水飲添。我以後黎開會再幫襯架!

隱蔽的一餐
從熙來攘往的街道,穿過窄長的小巷,就來到別有洞天的咖啡室。
地方不大,裝潢簡約舒服,是鬧市中放鬆的好地方。
除了飲咖啡外,這裏還有午餐供應。
照燒雞扒飯:不錯,用心煮的。
鴨胸意粉:出色的意粉,很香的橄欖油,意粉軟度適中,調味甚佳,其實鴨胸極普通,但單吃意粉也覺好吃。
既然是咖啡室,就要了餐後咖啡,但沒有加錢轉款,只覺得那杯普通的咖啡極不普通,加了很多糖仍覺得味道苦澀,是我們這些初哥應付不來的,下次一定要加錢轉我們平日愛喝的款色。

水(Acqua)有明亮的酸味
風(Venta)苦度偏高,絕對是一種extra bold的咖啡豆
這篇是一篇較特別的食評,因為在食店不是現成吃東西,而是將咖啡豆買回家,再在家沖泡咖啡,咁大家可能會問,咁還有什麼好評呢?因為本人在數個月的時間內,買過了這店子的四種咖啡粉,在家中用自家的咖啡機來沖,誠然是沒有店子喝的好,而今次要評的,是咖啡豆的質,需要的是咖啡師選豆及烘焙的功力。
先不說要在世界那個角落取豆,單單是看看包裝上烘焙的年月日已夠窩心了,每次的經驗也是不夠四天前才烘焙好的,確保新鮮,雖然我喝一包也要用上半個月的時間,但至少剛買回來時的頭幾天,也是很香的。
還記得很久以前,也買過Lavazza、Illy及星記的咖啡豆,但覺得Lavazza及Illy的竟然是其差,而星記也算還可以的,但跟此店子的又是另一碼子的事。
第一次來光顧的時候,是先買土 (Terra) 的,先不要談喝,在磨豆後,用嗅覺的享受已是超棒,那股醇厚的咖啡香真的很不錯,土(Terra)其實跟接下來介紹的火(Fuoco)及風(Vento)是以乾燥式處理的,處理方法是將咖啡果曝曬上大概兩個星期,每天用耙掃幾次,使咖啡豆可以乾的比較均勻,當曬乾之後,咖啡豆會與外皮分開,以脫殼機將乾掉了的果肉及果皮去除,再將那些咖啡豆去烘焙就成了,此種處理方法的好處是咖啡的酸度比較低,風味也比較多變化,這也可解釋了為何此店子賣的四款咖啡當中,有三款是以乾燥式處理的。說回咖啡,其醇厚而不過辛的味道,正好讓它能沖泡一杯不苦不澀的Espresso了,感覺非常順喉,回甘也很強,可說是一款含蓄而又有內涵的咖啡豆。
再試的是火(Fuoco),在嗅覺上的刺激比前者更大,嗅一下的感覺,已是覺得比前者更剛烈,應該說是更Smoky,相信是烘焙用上的時間比土的長,而用鼻子嗅起來,已覺得味道非常霸道,怪不得包裝上寫了是適合作奶系咖啡的基礎,也真的合理,用此豆沖出來的Espresso,濃郁而滲出輕巧的巧克力味,用來沖Latte,也出到那咖啡的味道,也試過更特別的飲法,心想既然適合用來作奶系咖啡的基礎,那不如用來溝Bailey吧,其實是Irish Coffee的一個變奏,那Espresso的濃香,加了冰後,再加了 Bailey的香甜,也是一流的配搭,酒香比不能掩蓋火的濃烈味道。
之後試了水(Acqua),是四種咖啡豆之中唯一以水洗方式處理的,先將咖啡果外層的果肉除去,然後浸泡在一個盛滿水的泥槽內,經過發酵之後,再以清水洗過,再曬乾或烘乾,最後以脫殼機將乾掉了的果肉及果皮去除,再將那些咖啡豆去烘焙就成了,此種處理方法的好處是,咖啡會有一種特有的鮮明清澈的風味,水(Acqua)的咖啡豆是受了中度的烘焙,所以味道當然沒有火(Fuoco)的濃烈,但怎說也好,個人認為嗅起來也是很香,沒有火(Fuoco)的那麼濃,但又比土(Terra)的更擅於交際,沒那麼含蓄,感覺更立體,早上用其沖泡了一杯Espresso,喝起來有一種讓人較易接受的酸味,而此明亮的酸味更使人精神為之一振,若用來沖Latte的話,就完全將酸的問題解決了,喝起來又是濃香而有層次,回甘也是不遜的。
最後試的是風(Venta),買此包豆的時候,店員已經認得我了,也傾談了一會咖啡經,當店員問我最喜歡哪種,我答他暫時來說,應該是土(Terra)吧,究竟風(Venta)能否打倒土(Terra)在我心目中的地位呢?先說為何此豆叫作風(Venta)吧,估計最大的可能是因為此豆取自印度的季候風咖啡豆,跟Crema用上的是同一種的咖啡豆,所以喝起來帶點中東咖啡豆的味道,可能是地理位置較近吧,再而呷一口,其苦度偏高,絕對是一種extra bold的咖啡豆,之後再沖了一杯Latte來喝,怎知也真的是苦得加了奶也是苦的咖啡,個人認為是有點過火了。
喝過此店子烘焙的四種不同的咖啡,本人最愛的還是土 (Terra),繼而順次序是火(Fuoco) 、水(Acqua)及風(Venta),剛好跟我買的次序一樣,真巧!
所以也應該只會買土 (Terra)及火(Fuoco),另外也會再發掘其他的咖啡豆,Cheers!

就好像當年「Kenny豬」來港獻吹,又是抱著那一種喝一杯星巴巴便以為格調升級的心態進場,但不到半場便已經倒頭大睡,實在令人失笑。只怪自己格調未夠之餘,「Kenny豬」的「Going Home」是自己其中一首催眠之曲,那有不睡的理由。
咖啡在自己心中的位置不及奶茶,始終味道有點霸道,除非要每天喝一杯來衝擊一下自己,否則還是茶奶較合口味。今天來到「Cafe Corridor」,主觀期望不是為喝一杯優質咖啡,而是為了「Latte Art」的熊兔雙形。
中午十二時許來到,雖然是日是星期天,但店內仍未有客人,店員仍在進行清潔,先找個位置坐下,詢問下知道要到櫃檯下單,即是與一般Cafe店無異。Menu已全寫在頭頂的黑板上,店子小小,算是種類凡多。
本想要一杯Cappuccino及Caramel Latte,但在細問下才知道,熊兔雙形只可為Mocha($28.00)及Latte($25.00)製作,最後只好轉點此兩款咖啡,另外多點了一件Irish's Baileys($30.00)。
Irish's Baileys先來,淡淡的顏色與Baileys同出一轍,在純白的碟底上用朱古力拉了些波浪花紋,簡單得來不失格調。餅底是用麥維他消化餅製成,壓得夠實淨,每一口也有淡淡的Baileys味道透出來,口感幼滑,十分不錯。
再來便是兩杯熊兔雙形咖啡,先來Mocha熊仔,確實是繪畫得十分出色,頗有神髓,但不知味道又如何。店員遞上精緻的糖罌,內裡全是細碎的咖啡糖,咖啡糖較幼細清甜,可以減少影響咖啡的原味,並且不會令喉頭有乾涸的感覺。
拍了一輪照片後,在杯邊加入糖,再忍心地攪拌了數下,先嗅一下,咖啡味不算濃郁,而朱古力味亦沒有透出來,馬上呷一口,實在是不得了,濃厚、香滑、細緻全數出現在此Mocha裡。咖啡與朱古力的分配十分均勻,兩種味道同時可以感覺到,咖啡香濃得來不會太搶,朱古力味濃而不甜,十分Dark的感覺,應該是喝過以來最出色的Mocha。
熊仔之後便到Latte兔仔出場,兔仔的神髓沒熊仔般出色,又是拍了一輪照片,在攪拌後呷了一口,先來香滑的奶味,再來便是濃厚的咖啡,先後有序,但由於只呷了一口,再細仔的味道已沒辦法分析出來,但感覺仍是一杯出色的Latte,而兩杯咖啡在喝後同時出現掛杯現象。
環境上如果坐滿時相信會有點迫,不過店內燈光柔和,頗有遊閒感覺,播著輕快的樂曲,呷一杯咖啡,再吃一件蛋糕,與情人一起輕輕細語,或跟三數知己天花亂墮一番,甚至獨自一人優閒地拿著小說散文邊喝邊看,同樣合適。喝此店的咖啡會感覺到一種強烈的個人風格,相信與負責人十分熟悉咖啡豆的配合,與及擁有出色沖製技巧有關。在試過之後,必定會再來嚐試另一款咖啡及食品,又看看在多喝數次後,會否令自己格調提升,哈哈!

食物選擇少, 地方不大
間cafe 有7張枱, 另外仲有戶外位.. 不過天氣咁熱當然冇坐戶外啦
晚上7點幾, 室內差唔多坐滿人, 還好仲有二人位... 餐牌要睇近住收銀既黑板, 對於隔左成條"冷巷"既食客們有便不便...
晚餐得三個選擇, 仲要係英文.. 我既英文有限, 大概睇到當晚既選擇係1)鴨胸意粉$48, 2)雞肉飯$55, 3)雜果沙律$48
冇餐飲, 餐飲要另外點... 咖啡平均$35, 外賣平d $30... 果汁少貴都要20幾蚊...
我同朋友叫左鴨胸意粉同雞肉飯, 另外叫左兩杯咖啡
等左一大輪, 好似老闆既人走埋黎話鴨胸冇哂, 要轉雜菇...
我心唸.. 鴨胸同雜菇.. 好似唔同級數架喎... 跟住佢仲繼續講解雜菇包今左d乜

服務員態度麻麻, 可能佢地習慣serve熟客.. 對住我呢d生客, 冇乜禮貌咁...

給自己偷一杯快樂~ 02
與assembly一樣~此處同樣有自家的咖啡豆(風,火,水,土),
今次杯latte就用左火豆,因此咖啡味較重,香味較濃。latte art 方面漂亮不再講,奶泡都打得夠幼,喝下去都幾滑,飲完口腔仍停留一陣咖啡香味~不錯
因為店子面積不大,店內的檯櫈排位都擺得較密,略為迫夾。
隨著人客越黎越多,我地飲完都唔坐咁難就走了,個人還是比較喜歡assembly的環境
