There was a time period when I received the odd bad Espresso's or Cappucino's here - as they seemed to be either really burnt during the Espresso Extraction or, the Blended Beans lacked aroma and flavours. So sometimes I never finished the drinks and thought it was just a waste of money...
Now that Corridor have changed to a New Espresso Machine (I think? actually I never notice these things much, its often not the bottleneck) but most importantly, also recruited a very damn good Barista these recent months, not to mention Felix seems to be roasting the beans better than ever, as the beans flavours are starting to finally leap out from the cup rather than staying muted - so I'm in love with Cafe Corridor again. Note that I still haven't taken up the courage to try their Espresso again yet! Hope they'll be good as well!
Finally I found a place where I can thoroughly enjoy a nice cup of mocha! After reading the comments from you openrice fans, I decided to give this place a try!!

This cafe is called Cafe Corridor for a reason; you'll need to walk through a long corridor to get there. Some say it's not an easy place to find, but you just need to really look and you'll get there. It is a cosy place, with about 7 tables for two indoors, and a few more seats outdoors for the smokers. For such a small place, you can imagine how noisy it can be during peak hour or lunch time.
They've got a lot to offer, from all day breakfast ($48) to avocado on toast ($30), as well as apple crumble ($30) etc.
I never have sugar in my coffee, and I can understand why some must have sugar in theirs - because the coffee is too bitter. Good coffee should never have an exceedingly strong bitter taste, but just the right amount.
Cafe corridor is up there with the likes of Batch and Baba Bhutan in Melbourne, if I may say so myself; they've got the beans, the temperature and the pattern spot on!
Cafe latte costs $28, $24 for takeaway, and if you have your own cup (like my Keep Cup), you get a great coffee for $22! Tell me that is not good value.
Kudos to Cafe Corridor for doing it right, and doing it with passion.
On a recommendation from a friend that this was the best cafe in causeway, and potentially in hong kong, I went for a try. Many things on the menu looked tempting, but for a first visit, I decided to just try out the hot chocolate. It was actually quite ordinary. Nothing to really write home about, but I guess its their coffee and food which gets the rave reviews, so I'll have to try it again soon before making any final verdicts... bonus points for their foam art tho... apparently a strong suit...

週末早餐下午才開始......
「你確定有開嗎?」大力女王說。
「一定有的,他們一定是十二點開始賣早餐,」我說。
店的入口並不好找,因為週遭店家的招牌實在都太大,而且Café Corridor的招牌顏色也不搶眼,不過認住在時代廣場對面的Levi’s就很容易找了。
店裡不大,最多就容納20個人吧,不過來的早店裡人並不多,所以有不少空位。吧檯上方黑板畫的五光十色,可愛的字跡寫著店裡提供的咖啡、飲料、餐點、甜點等,他日如果自己也開一間酒吧之類的,把我醜醜的字放上去,或許也會帶起一股醜字潮流也不一定,反正犀利哥都可以紅遍大江南北了!
我很快就決定要喝「Capuccino」,大力女王略一思考後問:「上次在Johnson那邊喝的是什麼?」
「我忘記了,不過好像是專門幫你特調的吧,」我回答。
「那幫我點杯Iced Mocha吧!」大力女王說。
容貌易記的大力女王,去年開始到處跟各餐館的店員們交朋友。吃滷水鵝多要辣油、吃咖哩多要咖哩汁、吃日本料理多要飯、吃雪糕再來一顆等等,而且要過一次之後,店員都會主動問她這次還要不要,再過一陣子叫她「大力凹女王」好了。
點飲料時問了營業時間,原來Weekend 12點才開始營業,Weekday則是9點鐘開始,所以要修正為「週末早餐下午才開始」,不是「天天早餐下午才開始」。
非常輕鬆悅耳的Bossa Nova柔柔地充滿在空氣中,深咖啡色的桌子、淺咖啡脂色的椅子、未有太多修飾的灰色牆面一起構成暗色系為主的室內,但牆上幾幅頗具巧思的可愛畫作帶來些許心理上的明亮感,特別的是店裡並不明亮,但閱讀卻沒有光線不足的感覺,是因為我坐在店門口附近光線比較明亮嗎?
「Iced Mocha」非常的漂亮,我想最主要是奶的功勞吧,奶的顏色與形狀實在是太漂亮了!咖啡佔了杯子的三分之二高度,佔了三分之一的白色奶則形狀完整的漂浮在咖啡上,奶上用巧克力漿畫著四葉幸運草,非常的可愛、可口,所以大力女王伸出舌頭想試著舔一舔,也就是這樣「出位」的表演,難怪大家都會記住她啦!
「Iced Mocha」咖啡非常柔順,溫度控制的很好,入口覺得滿嘴生香,不會澀、苦、酸,是一杯平衡感很好的冰咖啡。
「Capuccino」送上來,看到杯子與「Coffee Assembly」一樣,對這杯咖啡更充滿期待。奶泡打的好綿密、厚實,喝入口的溫度非常的棒,但是我覺得咖啡的味道稍微弱了一些,是可以嚐到咖啡的香、甜、醇,但如果可以更強烈一點點,那就更好了!
意猶未盡的我本來想要再來一杯「Espresso」的,但是流瀉在空氣中的聲音不再是輕柔的Bossa Nova,而是充滿尖銳感的不悅耳聲音,原來是與我們坐在店裡相對角落的兩位女士談話聲與笑聲愈來愈大、愈來愈大,讓我終於受不了決定闔上正在研究的食譜,趕緊離開為妙。
「還好你上個月沒有跟我去參加師奶團,那些師奶講話一個比一個大聲,」大力女王說。
「講話大聲不是問題,問題是店那麼小、那麼安靜,她們兩個人的座位又那麼近,有必要愈講愈大聲嗎?」我說,「如果是在蓮香樓或是菜市場,我是一點也不會介意有人講話很大聲的。」
認住在時代廣場對面的Levi’s就很容易找了。

Great Coffee ?

給我很大驚喜的咖啡小店
小店果然很小, 一眼望晒只有5,6張台; 一入內店員即親切地說歡迎光臨, 感覺很NICE。坐下才發現小廳以外還有一間有幾張枱及設有洗手間的小房, 這裡是半自助式, 要自已在Casher比錢落Order, 店員隨後會送上你order的東西。
我點了Cappucino Mocha, 老公要了Latte Macchita。咖啡上枱, 賣相很討我歡心
看了其他食評, 原來拉花可以選小熊,兔子和貓的, 下次也要叫他們拉一個貓花, 以後我們又多了一個喝靚咖啡的地方了。

很好的咖啡
I must have been spoiled for nice coffee in Australia. So each time I come back to HK for holidays I am always looking for some decent coffee. I have tried so many different cafes and coffee shops their coffee were nowhere near my expectation.
Thankyou for a nice cup of mocha this afternoon and I will definitely come back to try the food and bring my friends along next time!

在 Openrice 做了 research 而去的。
身為 "港島人",竟從不知銅鑼灣鬧市中、時代廣場的對面,隱藏著這一小小 cafe。
這也難怪,雖然說是地鋪,但左右都是大商店,cafe的招牌顯得毫不起眼;進去要經過大廈的窄小長廊,燈光陰暗。這種環境令人覺得這小店是賣實力,不賣花巧。
是日的 set lunch 有三款,包一杯 $25 或以下的咖啡,但看不出有多少種咖啡在 $25 或以下。
點了鴨胸意粉、Teriyaki chicken dumpling rice、hot cappucino 、cucumber coffee。
鴨胸意粉:炒得香噴噴;
Teriyaki chicken dumpling rice:雖然份量較少,但好好吃,雞翼脹卜卜的,不知是否饟了更多肉進去 (不知何解會叫 "chicken dumpling"),與日式燒汁很配合。
cucumber coffee:帶有淡淡的青瓜味道,但未算太有特色
hot cappucino:水準滿意
環境舒適,印象中座位以二人座為主,當日跟朋友坐了很久。
服務生親切,端上食物時很有禮,唯食物飲品在非繁忙時段也要等待十多分鐘才上桌,效率可高一點。

微笑的食物
今次再來是為了一直希望一試,但又苦無機會的食物。時間正直是下午三時左右,店內已九成滿,還好可以幸運地找到地方坐下。
今次的目標不是甜品蛋糕,而是正餐食物All Day Breakfast ($48.00)及Omelette ($48.00)。飲品則點了Coffe Mocha ($35.00)及Latte Macchiato ($28.00)。
由於客人頗多,所以飲品來了一段時間後,食物才徐徐送到。基本上飲品的質素與慣常的無異,芳香濃郁,不錯。
食物先來的是All Day Breakfast,內容有炒蛋、沙律、牛油麵包、蜜糖腸仔及微笑薯餅。炒蛋帶著四成熟的滑,有蛋香味。沙律新觧可口,牛油麵包香軟,伴著炒蛋吃十分不錯。蜜糖腸仔煎的外脆,一口咬下去會有卜一聲的口感。微笑薯餅的味道一般,不過比起麥記的水準還是高一些。
等了良久Omelette終於送來,又是帶著微笑的食物,蛋皮薄薄一片,完全將內裡的炒飯包著。炒飯的配料不太多,簡簡單單再加點茄汁來炒。味道方面算是不過不失,只是蛋皮有點過薄,與在日本東京「蛋包飯元祖店たいめいけんは」吃過的蛋包飯感覺十分不同。
總結後,此店的飲品及甜品比起食物出色得出,或者下次再嘗試意粉的質素如何。

原味甘筍汁
是日不來喝咖啡,反而是一杯即搾的甘筍汁,甘筍甜得來味道天然,喝剩的五分一是泡渣,也是鮮蔬菜鮮搾才會有的痕跡,沒有下糖水或砂糖,感覺良好,$35一杯,有個地方傾下計,聽即沖咖啡聲、臭著小屋內的咖啡香,很滿意。
