We were greeted warmly and invited to pick a table, and then told what was on offer and where to order inside.
Brunch/Lunch for 4 - 2 full English breakfasts - Shepherds pie - Moroccan pie - Scotch egg - Hot cross bun
The breakfasts were a good size with a proper pork sausage each and delicious bread; the bacon could have been more crispy but the breakfast set came with a generous sized cup of tea to make up for it. The pies had a great balance of flavours and the Scotch egg was delicious. The hot cross bun was lovely, we were just too tired to go back and pick up some more after our day out!
It's a shame to read that others experienced bad service. Our experience was that the counter staff were quick, and particularly the older Chinese gentlemen clearing the tables was very friendly.
We had our baby with us in a carrier but a family with 2 baby strollers came along and the cafe was very accomodating, figuring out where they could sit to park their strollers and even seeing if the kids were old enough for a high chair.
