I got the deal through Yahoo Groupbuying, which costed $225 per person, and of coz, like a lot of other deals from group buying, you have got to pay for the service charge after the meal as well, so it was around $260 per person in the end. At the beginning, I thought it was a real bargain as I could spend 3 hours enjoying the meal, that's why I bought it. It was a nightmare booking for a table for 2 on a weekday. It was a nightmare booking for a table for 2 on a weekday. It seemed like all the tables were fully booked every single day and it was necessary to reserve a table for 2, only for 2, 6 weeks in advance.
Finally, I visited this hotel restaurant with a friend on 7 May.
As I walked into the restaurant, I thought... oh no... is this really a hotel restaurant? It was so noisy and crowded there.
There was a long queue for the oysters, do u know why? Coz they only took out around 20 every 10 minutes, and on average everyone took about 5, so you needed to queue for at least 20 minutes for only a few oysters! There was hardly anything to eat apart from seafood. As you may see in the picture above, that was all I had for my main course. The salmon wasn't fresh enough, and there was a bit too much salad cream in the salad. The range of desserts they offered was not as wide as what I would expect from a hotel restaurant. Normally I eat for the country when it comes to desserts at a buffet meal, but this time, I hardly ate anything.
Overall, the meal itself wasn't bad. The food tasted fine. However, it really didn't worth paying $260 for this.
