It was just past noon on a weekday and the queue looked reasonablly short, so my colleague and I decided to give it a try. After around 5-10 mins we got our seats but had to share a table with another pair. The set lunch of the day sounded nice so we both went for it. Didn't actually know what soup it was as the waitress just said "red" soup or "white" soup, so I chose the latter. It was some kind of cream of xx soup and it was cooled when it arrived . I told the waiter who served it and he kindly offered to change it for me. The hot soup tasted ok - creamy and not too salty.
Pork chop with mushroom sauce
You can choose rice, pasta or potatoes. My choice was pasta. The pork was tender and tasted great in the mushroom sauce with generous amount of fresh mushrooms. Matched well with the spaghetti which was cooked just right (not overcooked like those usual HK cha chaan teng style pasta) and topped with a light tomato paste.
Hot Lemon TeaThe tea was served in a tall glass cup with generous slices of lemon.
Overall the presentation and quality of food is better than other cha chaan tengs around, so the relatively higher cost can be justified.
