We ordered kitsune udon (udon in a dashi broth with a sweet tofu sheet on top) and were quite happy, but not blown away. The noodles are cut by hand with the traditional udon knofe, so they had a good chewy texture. They were uneven in places, alowing for a variation in mouth feel, which was great. The tofu was fine; just a standard staple really. The dashi was OK, but it really was a little too salty. If the seasoning had been less heavy-handed, it would have been a well rounded and balanced

As it was, the food didn't quite live up to the service, which was friendly and helpful; even from behind the counter. I would not make a trip out to eat there, but in a push, it wouldn't be a bad option for an affordable bowl of noodles.
