Happened to walk pass this newcomer on Hollywood Road. It's definitely a great location and well-spotted venue. The menu is simple and well-divided into useful categories, including street foods and dipping sauces. I tried two sauces ($88/2 dips) - Nam Prig Pao Goong (Fried Shrimp & Chilli) & Nam Pring Ong (Classic Pork & Tomato Chilli) and I loved the non-spicy pork dipping sauce. What I love about their menu is the vast choices of seafood dishes, especially prawns in raw, fried and steamed glory. I had Goong Wan (Fried King Prawns with Garlic & Palm Sugar $75) and was a little disappointed when it came because the prawns were definitely not in king size and the sauce tasted a little too sweet.
Pad Bo Tak (Fried Seafood with Thai Basil, Chilli, Lime and A Touch of Curry Paste $88) was another seafood dish I ordered. Not a recommendable dish, as I could taste the use of frozen ingredients...
However, I would love to give credit to its desserts. I absolutely loved the 2 desserts I ordered: Khao Niew Mamuang (Sweet Sticky Rice with Thick Coconut Milk & Fresh Mango $48) and Black Sticky Rice and Coconut Ice Cream ($38).
Just the desserts would tempt me to Ayuthaiya again.
