Nothing beats a relaxing afternoon break. This time we spent it at the Cake Shop at MO.
As we were still very full after lunch, we only ordered some desserts at the cafe. We ordered a chocolate truffle cake and a chestnut cake.
The chocolate truffle is my all-time favorite. The chocolate was very rich but not heavy. Interesting there was some sour raspberry jam on the inside which balanced out the sweetness. What a nice twist! My husband likes the chestnut cake a lot. You can tell the freshness of chestnut with just one small bite. There were layers of cream, cake and mashed chestnuts on the inside. It was just soft and sweet which made our day! One thing i would like to point out is that the servers there said all the eggs they used for cakes are pasteurized which make the cakes safe for pregnant ladies and children. I have not had cakes with cream / mousse for long b'cos of the use of raw eggs. But now I can have more than enough at MO. Very thoughtful of them!
There were not too many people probably it was a weekday. Thankful that we managed to spend some quiet time at a cafe together with some nice sweet treats!
