Celebrating my friend’s birthday at Uma Nota. It’s her favourite brunch place. I have been there for dinner few times and absolutely love their ceviche and flank steak. And of course their brazilian cocktails 🍹 Friendly service as usual. And glad they could make replacement for my friends who don’t eat seafood. Thumbs up for that! Tuna tartare with onsen egg Very well seasoned. Onsen egg goes really well with the tuna. Deep fried cheese with sweet chilli sauce Baked scallops Grilled pork ribs Very tender and lot of flavour All food are rustic and amazingly delicious! The dish impressed me the most was definitely the steak. Cooked perfectly medium rare. So juicy! Dessert platter with fresh fruits. Love their alcohol package! Getting drunk by 3pm is not a dream Overall, this brunch is good value and food is all great! Just wish there was some ceivhe included.

This place is all about seafood! Fresh seafood! Forget about the hot dishes Oysters are super fresh! Pricy but totally worth it! The seafood tower is brilliant! I just can’t find any bad thing of this tower. Lobster is perfectly cooked. All ingredients are super fresh! All i remember was… i was smiling all the way when i put every single item from the seafood tower into my mouth! What a night!

Dear my brunch diary, I think i have found the worst boozy brunch. Ironically, it’s in a beautiful designed restaurant with a breathtaking view. I was so impressed by the interior design when i first walked in. The dark long corridor is pretty cool. Love their tables for 2 along the window, just like the old Aqua at 1 Peking Road. The restaurant is only 1/4 full. I wondered why as all boozy brunch in town is fully booked. I know the reason right after I tried their food. The menu is not comprehensive. The cheapest package is same as Zuma. It’s hard not to compare their menus as they both serve similar cuisine. They serve the pizza by asking around. Funny thing was, they asked us if we would like to have some pizza before any starters were served. And then boom! All starters served in the same time. I feel like i am in one of those Japanese all you can eat restaurant. The karaage, gyoza, and other starters supposed to be hot were not hot at all. The maki rolls were really average. Sashimi was ok. They don’t even have scallop or prawns. Oysters were really small and tasteless. Pizza wasn’t bad. Good crust! For main course, we chose gnocchi and porchetta. Gnocchi was up to standard. Porchetta was slightly dry but the skin is crispy. Dessert platter is ok. Nothing special. Overall, I was quite disappointed. There’s no dish can make me want to visit again. I feel quite pity, a restaurant like this with a lovely view, good location and cool interior design, to serve this quality of food. If the food they serve can be at least up to standard, they will be able to pull it off and I am sure there’ll be fewer empty tables on a Sunday brunch. And people is willing to even pay more for good food with a good view. Unfortunately, Aqua is at the bottom of my brunch list.

3 consecutive years to get the Michelin Star and 1st year for the green star. Finally could gather some friends to try their tasting menu. Whole dining experience is liked riding a roller coaster. Pretty amazing for the starters but once it’s started reaching the main courses, i didn’t expect much anymore. Service is pretty standard. Not really friendly or warm. They asked if there’s any dietary restrictions when i made the booking online. I sent them an email mentioning one guest is pescatarian and one guest is allergic to board beans. I also captioned their names to make them easier to manage. At the end, they had to ask again once we ordered the full tasting menu in the spot. Alright……. Menu price is lower than I expected. They have lunch menu on some weekdays which is only $380. Tasting menu is the same price for lunch and dinner. Short one is $780 and long one is $1080. We ordered the long one and ordered 3 bottle of wine. a4 wagyu, roast onion, seaweed and caviar The dishes I like the most was the A4 wagyu, caviar tart. One small bite full of different amazing flavour. yi-o rice cracker, karasumi, salted lemon truffle pudding, birch sap, stout and lincolnshire poacher My 2nd favourite of the day. Savoury and sweetness combine together. I bet this will be a great snack for the afternoon noon or go with a coffee. new territories tomato, whipped mussel, turnip chawanmushi, mushroom xo, tendon, marrow soda bread with brown cultured english butter zen farm carrots with chicken skin, horseradish and wasabi leaf This one with carrot, chicken skin is liked putting different things in the same plate but no harmony at all. Feel like eating individual component instead. poached sea bass with asparagus, wild garlic and morel Sea bass cooked perfectly. Just the morel puree doesn’t match the fish nor the asparagus at all. Too strong and too earthy. Actually i think the morel puree will be a great match with another main course duck breast instead. 14 day aged duck with red cabbage beetroot and preserved blackcurrant Duck breast is nicely cooked but a bit too sweet. Natural jus taste delicious. shiso, yoghurt and matcha cornetto caramelized white chocolate and marigold with local mulberry My thought when i was having this.. “What am i eating?”….. whipped hazelnut praline, brown butter koji caramel and jerusalem artichoke The artichoke ice cream is quite interesting. Overall i guess it’s quite overrated. But as I always say, if we never try, we never know.

Always love the Peninsular. Feeling back in the old time. My parents heard good review of the buffet here. Still remember we still insisted to go under Typhoon 8. To be fair, for this price in a luxury hotel, i don’t really expect much. Not much choice of food selection. The only dish I remember which was pretty good was the braised abalone. The rest is really soso. Some of the food actually not really meeting hotel standard. I had some mango with raw sticky rice. I bet most of the people willing to pay extra if they could take out some better food in this lovely hotel. Seem like it’s such a waste to have this quality of food in this great place.

Love this hidden small bar. Cool but warm friendly service. Love the owner/ bar tender serving you free cookies Their wagyu burger definitely is one of the one in town! Soft bun with juicy patty… and have a glass of whisky sour. What else you can ask for?

I had visited them a while ago. Was really excited about having some high quality food in this cool hip restaurant in town. They only take around 12-16 guests in a service. Sitting at the counter to see every moves of the chef! There were 2 menu. A regular tasting menu and a more luxury menu with uni. The highlight was definitely the wagyu sando! And that’s probably the best dish of all courses. The gyoza and the steamed ribs was such a waste of great wagyu beef! To be fair, i bet it’s difficult to design a tasting menu of beef involved in every single course. Maybe it just doesn’t work. And the worst thing was… i wasn’t full after this meal. At the end we shared a bowl of beef rice at Mashi No Mashi, and wagyu burger at Diplomat… lol. No jokes 😂

Didn’t plan to try their dishes at all. Funny thing was… my friend and i wasn’t full at all after the dinner at Wagyumafia. Having a bowl of rice was handy This bowl of rice comes in the right time! Make my tummy happy after an unsatisfied meal.

If you talk about Kinship, the first thing comes to my mind is their Brussels sprouts! The best I have ever had! Always a good time there! Great choice for casual dining! I had visited them several times for both lunch and dinner. Have only heard good comments towards their food! This is probably my favourite restaurant of Arron Rhodes and Chris Grare among the 3 restaurants they have. They change their menu from time to time. There’s always new dishes to try every time for your visit

Visited the one and only one Forum for my birthday a while ago. Pan fried Vegetarian beancurd sheet roll Chef Adam homemade roasted BBQ pork Deep fried Bitter melon with salty egg This bitter melon makes me want to keep going back! My fav starter among 3! How can you miss the famous abalone, sea cucumber and goose web! So tender! The sauce is perfect to go with the rice! Pan fried star Grouper Crispy outside, fresh, moist inside. Cooked perfectly! Roasted chicken wing stuffed with Minced Shrimps Perfect bite! I wish i could have 2 Fried rice and steamed bun A very hip ice lolly really a great birthday for me! Thanks for the lovely service and amazing arrangement!
