Absolutely disappointing.

We ordered tum yum soup, yellow curry with beef and minced pork, served with sotti and steamed rice.

With drinks we have lemongrass tea, a Beer and 2 fresh lime soda.

We specifically requested the food to be minimal spicy and it ended up still very spicy. (I normally can take Sichuan hotpot so imagine how spicy it was). It was so spicy that my stomach started to hurt. That's not the worst part ---

Normally in any restaurant, if the food is so spicy that the customers cannot take, they will offer to exchange or to cancel the dish. But here at Mango Tree, instead of helping us to seek alternatives, one of the managers decided to order some more drinks to try and finish the food. WHAT? We already had 4 drinks on the table and he wanted us to order more drinks so that we can finish the food?

Seriously it was so spicy and none of us could take any more food and he asked us to order more non-spicy dishes.

This is just ridiculous. 

Fine - we ordered another pot of assorted vegetables - I don't know if it was because the food and the service at that time was already very unpleasant, I find that dish not very satisfying.


So instead of having our birthday cake, we just left.

Thanks mango tree what an unpleasant birthday dinner EVER. 

Ordered a luxury breakfast which comes with 2 sausages, 2 bacons, 4 toasts, 2 baked beans (we requested not to have mushrooms), and some little tomatoes, voila! 


I have to admit those two sausages were the best I have ever tried! Temperature of the food was just fit! Absolutely loved it! Bacons weren't overcooked as in which many restaurants tend to do. They were not too soft and not too oily - perfect! 

Baked beans were served warm. 

Toasts came with a rose strawberry jam. The flavor of rose was strong! I love it!!! Wish I could take the jam home.

Ordered a rose ceylon milk tea. The rose flavor is blended in and it was so delicious! I could drink that every day! And I like how their drinks weren't too hot when it was served so you can enjoy it without having to wait.

Came here at 9 and quickly ordered something.


I ordered a grilled black cod with mash potatoes. My boyfriend ordered a chicken burger with Brie cheese.

They gave us some bread as we sat down. I requested for vinegar and olive oil. Unexpectedly they didn't give us the two things but to have it mixed already. I personally like to mix it myself cause I didn't really like their portions but anyway it's not important.

We ordered 2 main courses, one with soup and another with salad.

Soup was absolutely tasty. Very delicious. Temperature was just right. 


My boyfriend loves their salad. I particularly enjoyed the dressing. The cucumber was fresh and others weren't bitter. I like how they use absolutely fresh ingredients. Just very delightful! 


I didn't like the chips. They were quite salty. But other than that, the chicken fillet was cheesy and tender. They must have put some herbs and I happened to love it. It would be better if the cheese was melted properly, not just a piece on the fillet.


My black cod! The mash potatoes was just right. Neither was it salty nor smooth. One thing is food wasn't that hot. I personally like it very hot when it is served. Anyway, the cod was smooth and boneless. It was a bit tasteless if I hadn't added some pepper. It was alright but wasn't amazing.

Tried it once a year ago, disappointed, but then I thought maybe it'd be good this time, so I gave it a go - worst decision ever.

I was in a hurry so I quickly ordered a spicy pork noodles, sunny side up with bread and butter and a hot drink. Food came really fast, that was true. But then it tasted horrible!  It tasted so horrible that I didn't even finish half of it and I left. The noodles was overboiled. It must have left in the cooking pan for ages! And it tasted like MSG! Let alone the bread which tasted strange. It wasn't hot and it wasn't warm. The butter on the bread was poorly blended. I only had one bite. The sunny side up was so oily! The waiters just choked the dishes in the bucket right next to you and it was as loud as bombs!! Never ever had a meal that was so horrible that I would rather be starving for the next few hours than to have this! 

Why did I even think of going back? So stupid! 

For those who have to work overtime on a Sunday afternoon, this might cheer you up a bit.


Got these for my boy as a treat! He seems to enjoy them a lot! They look pretty as well! 

I have heard that they use everything natural to make those cupcakes and my boyfriend is absolutely a natural-seeker - good match! The cake itself is soft as sponge. The decor on top isn't too sweet. It was just right. But I think the rose flavor can be stronger. It doesn't taste very flowery. Flavors can be more distinguishable.  

And their cupcakes are in fact cheaper than the ones with similar quality out there. 

Came here for lunch at around 1:30 on a weekday with a friend, surprisingly didn't have to wait at all!

We were served upstairs. The area isn't big. But natural sunlight and the height make it look good. 

We ordered two lunch set. Lasagna + soup + tea + a piece of cookies



Lasagna was good but I think cheese wasn't enough. It was more than warm but wasn't hot enough. Probably because I like it really hot and with lots of cheese that just melts in your mouth! But anyway it was alright. No excitement no disappointment.

Waitresses were very polite and friendly. But unfortunately the air con was on too low. We were so cold that we wanted to go right after our lunch. Don't know why restaurants and malls tend to put it on so low that it makes you feel like you are in the polar regions.

I would come back but expect the food to be even better  

Came here for more than 10 times and it's always been a good place to chill.

Tried their waffles for the very first time. It was absolutely delicious! I can have that every day 


The blueberry cheesecake was quiet nice too!

Ordered a pot of rose jasmine tea. Tasted like jasmine but couldn't taste the rose. 

The earl grey was better! 

The atmosphere was so relaxing in the afternoon! But if you want to find somewhere quiet then you might have to think again. They, for some reasons, tend to play party music at night sometimes. But I don't really mind

I've been here more than 6 times with my Russian boyfriend. He took me here almost a year ago. It was my first Russian dinner, I didn't think I would like it but I loved it. 

Now this time with another friend of ours, we could order more to share.

We had the Russian dumplings which looked like Chinese wun-ton but a bit smaller. They were so delicious!! My boyfriend said it isn't authentic Russian. It's adjusted to fit the Chinese and it's somehow a Ukrainian and Russian mixed cuisine. 

We also had Russian tea in which my Russian boy said he has never tried before. It's kinda minty. Doesn't taste strong.


And here you go.. I took a photo with the matryoshkas vodka. I love those matryoshka dolls. I have 6 at home myself. 😛😛😛


Didn't take photos for all the dishes but we also ordered:

- Kiev chicken (fried chicken fillet) 
- borscht (Russian soup) with beets and beef
- Fish salad (a variety of raw fish mixed tgt). A bit fishy but I can take that.
- fried ice cream: crispy on the outside and cold inside. It was good.



Also had a bit of vodka inside the ice bar! $50 per shot


My Russian boy said it's the closest to authentic Russian food he can find in HK! 

Absolutely delicious!
