Had dinner at Manzo with husband and friends the other day. It was not planned - we went there just because there were long queues at other restaurants nearby. 

As always, I can't remember exactly the names of the dishes we ordered. Husband and Friend#1 ordered the 14 oz steaks whereas I had the linguine with shrimp and lemon and butter sauce. Friend#2 had the gnocchi. All of us had strawberry cheesecakes for desert.

Verdict?
Friend#1 said it was the best steak he had ever had in HK, and husband was very happy with what he had too. I had some of it and it was just very very juicy and well-seasoned. The only thing we were not so happy about was that there was no side for the steak. No veggies whatsoever. The presentation wasn't quite appetizing and misleading. The steaks looked dry. The presentation absolutely did not do justice to the taste of the steak.

My linguine was awesome too. It was served on a nice, fancy pan. Good presentation. The tanginess was just perfect and it was just perfectly creamy. The shrimps tasted fresh and the linguine was beautifully cooked. The portion was quite small I was still hungry when I finished the meal   

Friend#2 also said she was happy with the food. I only tried a spoon of the gnocchi and thought it was great. But to be fair I need to taste more before I can make any judgment.

What made me very happy that night was their strawberry cheesecakes we had for desert. Oh my Richard Dawkins. I think that was the best cheesecake I've had so far. Very creamy and smooth. Wasn't too sweet. I could easily have another one

As for the restaurant itself: the decor was nice and warm. Tables a little too close to each other and it was so busy and noisy we had to kind of shout to each other. The staff were polite and quite attentive.

The worst thing about dining there on that day was that we had to wait for our food for maybe about 45 minutes, if not more. I was getting cranky but then when the food came they just tasted sooo good I think it's worth the wait.

Will absolutely come back!  

Went to this restaurant for an early dinner with husband, and was instantly impressed with the decor. Very stunning. I particularly love their huge fans and how they use Italian yellow pages to cover some part of the wall in the toilet.

I don't really remember the names of the dishes we ordered. But for the appetizer we had bruschetta and some mussels, classic pizza for the main dish, and a cheesecake for desert. Bruschetta was lovely - very crispy with nice, refreshing tomatoes topping. Mussels were not bad, but were quite bland for my taste. Pizza was massive - they mean it when they said it was going to be table-size. Very nice presentation, looked very appetizing, but again it was also too bland. Husband said the dough was not fresh - he suspected it was frozen. My biggest dissapointment was the cheesecake, as I'm a big fan of cheesecakes. Was so excited to see the size of it (it's HUGE - maybe enough for 5 people) but was instantly dissapointed as the biscuit was soggy it wasn't so creamy either. I was wondering whether they actually made the cheesecake themselves or just bought it somewhere else and put the strawberry or mango sauce on top of it :-/

We paid HKD 700 in total including tips. The staff were responsive and nice, so we thought they deserve tips even though we were charged 10% service charge already. But for the food we had, honestly I think it was quite overpriced. I mean, I know the size of the size is huge and all that. But if that was what I was looking for, I would have just gone to Paisano's.

I read one of the reviews which mentions that the tables were too close to each other and I second that. The lady next to our table did actually knocked the bread basket on our table when she passed as there was not much space.

Not sure I will come back to this restaurant. Not the food was unbelievably terrible, but with the price they charged us on the food, I think I can get better and tastier food elsewhere. Sorry!
