90mins was not enough to enjoy all the yummy food here. Wanted to drink more but we had to return the table. Loved the food but wished we had more time ~~~ d'ahhhh!


To cool ourselves with the extensive "heaty" fried food choices, we had beer and the iced beancurd Chinese dessert (腐竹糖水) smoothie. It was a little sweeter than my usual preference but it went well with the typhoon shelter style fried fresh squid (big pieces of squid!), fried salted egg yolk corn, and sizzling chicken & frog clay pot.


You must also order the chicken feet in spicy sauce, and pork lard on hot claypot rice!


Enjoy the Hong Kong style hawker stand food under the air con with fun restaurant decor. No more quarantine for Hong Kong, of sort (well, 0+3) so this would be a nice place to bring your friends visiting from overseas. BEST to make a table reservation in advance.

阿嫲麵包店 (太子)

Happy discovery - they opened a bakery right around the corner of their original fluffy castella cake shop. I have pretty much tried all their cakes, and it's time to try all the BAKEDS!


The bakery offers all kinds of (toast) breads - in loafs or cat's head shape, candied walnuts, Chinese pastries and confectioneries. Genuine on ingredient use and taste. The owner is always friendly and enthusiastic.


And wow, look at their nicely done gold spot UV packaging! Btw, their castella cake box is a little traditional Chinese house, and makes a great gifting idea.

Tried something new - Pescatarian with Plant Sifu plant-based meat! A limited time collaboration at Duddell's. We were impressed by how natural the plant pork was presented. Seafood added "sweetness" (aroma & flavor) to the dishes while the plant pork added "satisfaction" (texture & fullness).


Said to be locally developed and produced with a focus in Chinese cuisine, Plant Sifu was surely on point vs. the other brands that I had tried. Less salty, more tender and original in taste.


Plant pork & shrimp rolls covered in 3 kinds of vinegars with a hint of lychee. You could smell the dish even before it reached the table. The lightly-fried rolls were made by pressing "pork" slices with shrimp paste; lots of toothsome layers.


Plant pork & seafood with rice crispies. A generous amount of diced lobsters, scallops and shrimps with plant pork and toasty pine nuts. Just the right amount of sauce to moist the crisps.


Plant pork & five-head abalone Shanghainese noodles with dried shrimp and HK's specialty chu hou soup. Meaty, bouncy and hearty. A very memorable dish.

Paul's Kitchen (尖沙咀)

Ventured into Chungking Mansions for African-Filipino food. Must make table reservations in advance via Whatsapp. Tiny place but I just loved it here for the food and homey feeling. I kept eating and nodding (nods of approval) throughout the whole meal.


Ordered 3 baskets of naan to go with all the spicy chicken pot and oxtail pot sauces. I would order more but I felt guilty. Brought the leftover home and made pasta with the sauces. Must return for the other dishes.

Their plates for the guests were adorable (again, no photos). Too busy eating. Do not disturb. Nom nom nom.

Power Burger (深水埗)

Need I say more? Just look at the burger AND fries AND soda water. I need to write at least 80 words so they’ll approve this review but I think just the food shots are enough to get an “approval”.


Burger = juicy buttered buns, healthy kale, oozy cheese, secret sauce, and charred angus beef.


Fries = made with real potatoes because you can still see the skin.


Soda Water = just look at the brand they use.


“APPROVE”!
