The anticipation had been building for days to try this place with the much vaunted reputation as the "BEST" beef brisket/Nau Lam noodle in HK for over 20 years.

Our group of 5 arrived especially early for lunch- we got 2nd in the queue. Within 30 minutes the queue had grown to 40 deep and growing!!

When the staff came to open up lets say they werent too friendly with tourists asking them questions.

When the doors opened, its all go go go with a well orchestrated system to get patrons seated.
Then very quickly after youve been seated ,the waitress is hovering and pressuring the table for your order with not much time for one to peruse the menu.

Today, only one type of noodle was available although the menu states there are 4 types.

The staff were not into explaining what were the dishes on the menu- they were just trying to get you to order as fast as possible.

It was all a bit too reminscent of the infamous "soup nazi" episode of the Seinfeld TV comdey series.

The food arrives fairly quickly for such a busy+packed to capacity place.

Disappointly, it was not good @ all.

Soup too salty, beef very fatty ,not tender, and very chewy/sinewy!
noodles overcooked.

Would i return- definitely not

After visiting the Peak and taking in  the views on a cold drizzly HK day, we were all very hungry and visited the famous Mak's noodles, michelin rated and also favorably rated by Anthony Bourdain.

What can you say about this place- the food is excellent- seriously the BEST wonton noodles soup or dry that ive ever eaten.
Everything is cooked perfectly, the noodles al dente, the ingredients all fresh, super fresh tender kai lan, delicious tasty won tons. and the soup stock is also superb

The service is polite, fast and efficient and the prices are all very reasonable and very well priced.
The Peak venue was very clean.

The serves are not huge but average to good sized for the average eater.
For a big eater like myself i just order 2 serves.

WOuld i return- definitely, many times over!

Had read many reviews of this michelin star rated restaurant and was very much looking forward to dinner there.
Table of 5 people and we ordered ala carte.

The service was very good and attentive.

The views of the harbour and skyline are fantastic.

The decor is modern and aesthetic and the venue certainly has  a classy ambiente!

However the food was a letdown.

The sea cucumber dish was bland and tasteless.

The crab roll dish was the same with very little real crab meat.

The pre ordered special chicken dish was extremely salty and overcooked- the meat was disintegrating into strands and drowning in the excessive sauce- the version @ the Peninsulahotel with the glutinous rice (beggar's chicken) is far far better.

The best dish was the australian beef stir fried dish- tender beef, perfectly cooked and very nice flavors.

Price- wise one could have better food @ the chinese restaraunt @ the peninsula or the one in the Basement of the Holiday Inn in kowloon for alot less money.
