Delicious cake, Excellent presentation & Service

Patisserie Tony Wong (九龍城)

My girlfriend travelled to HK during her birthday, and since I was overseas, I used OpenRice to find the best cake I can send to her.
I found Patisserie Tony Wong has a Rose cake that has an excellent presentation and was very well reviewed on the site, so I chose them for the cake. There were a few obstacles that I had to go through during the cake ordering process, but in the end I was very satisfied.

Simply, but somewhat restrictive ordering process & Top notch Customer Service:
First the cost was on the upper end of the cake as compared to other places, but I was willing to look past that with all the great reviews. The other obstacle was the cash/direct deposit only requirement, which made it very difficult to pay from overseas. Luckily, I had a relative that was able to pay for my in person in HK.
I have to compliment the store's customer service as top notch. I contacted them through email and received a response within hours. Questions were answered clearly and promptly. Furthermore, there was a slight error in my order, but when they were notified, they quickly apologized and worked to solve the issue immediately. Their sincerity towards this was appreciated, and I would recommend their shop solely for the customer service alone if their cake wasn't already so delicious.

Delicious cake, excellent presentation, and attention to detail:
With the rose cake, you are able customize the cake to your liking, such as the mousse flavour and the colour of the rose. This was important because my girlfriend loves the colour purple and is a huge chocolate fan. The cake itself was delivered in a large box, and on the side wall of the box are taped ice packs to keep an optimal temperature of the cake. Very good attention to detail.
Although I did not get to taste the cake myself, I received numerous feedback that the cake was very delicious. The petals of the rose were very good, as was the cake layer itself, with very flavourful chocolate taste.

Summary: The cake from Patisserie Tony Wong is delicious as many other reviews have noted, but if you want to get a cake from a shop that truly put customer service first, I would absolutely recommend you give this place a try. Will not be disappointed.
