Went there on 18/9/08 with a few friends. The whole place is packed with people. You will nicely-dressed OL, lovely young girls, men full of tattoo, etc.

We have ordered-
(a) 油炸鬼, which is deep fried 油炸鬼 stuffed with squid, served with sweet and sour sauce. The taste is great, and it is not oily.
(b) 蒜蓉steamed勝瓜 - 勝瓜is fresh, come with large portion.
(c) 妙蜆 - not worth it. many of them were not thoroughly cooked.
(d) 涼瓜排骨煲- 涼瓜is fresh and tasty but come with a small portion.

We have ordered a few bottles of beer.

As this is a 大排檔, no service is expected but the food comes quickly.

The environment is also bad. If you need to use the toilet, you need to use that of the market, which is horrible.

We ended up paying about HK$250.

No complaint.

Having read what 雪儀 has written, I just want to say, Teppanyaki is even worse...

My wife and daughter wanted to try new thing, so they decided to have lunch at Teppanyaki on Saturday (6 September 2008).

We have ordered a seafood set and a beef set.

The seafood set includes squid, oysters, fish fillets, shrimps, etc. The squid wa good. The oysters were extremely small, and were not fresh. My daughter spite it out aftering tasking it, although I found it acceptable. The shrimps were of reasonable size but again, they were not fresh. The heads fell of when we moved it on to our dishes. However, the sauce was good, and another good thing is, the food was served on the cooking iron plate in front of the patrons and thus the food was still warm when we had them,

The beef was ordinary, nothing special. Not bad neither.

The service was horrible. The chef and the waiters waitresses were polite. However, when I had lunch there, there were more than 20 people sitting round the teppanyaki, and many more were queuing outside. When new customers come in, no one clean the left-over of the last customers. Besides, there were only 2 chefs serving more than 20 customers.

I ended up paying about $160 for 2 adults and 1 kid.

Go to this place very often, as this is a rather cheap place. But the recent hot pot experience is very bad.

Went there on Tuesday night (2 September) with my wife for hot pot dinner. The whole place was nearly empty with only a few tables. Therefore, the service was excellent.

We have ordered the ordinary stuff for hot pot, nothing special. The only remarkable dishes are -

(a) 手打四寶丸. When it was taken out, the meat ball were frozen and hard like rock. The shrimp and fish balls had turned sour already...
(b) 澳州肥牛 The captain highly recommended this dish, which is 2 times more expensive than ordinary beef (seems to be $58). We gave it a try. When the beef arrive, we can only see fat, but not beef. .. very disappointed.

One good thing is, the beer is cheap. I have 4 cans of Garlsbery at $10.

I ended up paying $270 for two.

Attended a short seminar on Saturday morning in Wanchai. Since I have the precious opportunity to enjoy lunch on my own (as the senior and junior "The She Who Must Be Obeyed" stayed at home), I think a little bit of indulgence is not too much. Therefore, I went to TST to have lunch at King Ludwig.

Haven't been to this place for long time. I learned from the witress that all tables have been fully-booked for the afternoon tea buffet starting at 2pm. For those who walked in for lunch have to either return the table before 2pm, or stay at the lounge. As I arrived very early, I was seated at a small table in the dinning room.

Ordered my favourite roast pig knuckle. The skin was as crispy as usual but yet the meat was still very juicy and tender. This has been the best pig knuckle I have ever had in Hong Kong so far.

Although it was a bit too early for beer, who care, just ordered 1 litre of Veltin to flush the pig knuckle down, which is also great.

I ended up paying about $270.

Went there with the She Who Must Be Obeyed and the little princess yesterday, after attending a concert at the school of the little princess.

The service was bad initially. When we wanted to place our orders, we could find no trace of any waiter. Having waited for a while, eventually, a very nice waiter discovered us, took the orders, and waited our table. When we finished placing the orders, another waiter immediately came up, dropped two dishes which we have not ordered and a bread basket. We told him that we had just placed our orders and the dishes were not us. He told them back, and placed them to the table behind our table. Although he did give us a bread basket, he had forgotten to leave us with butter.

We only ordered Appetizer Combo (with onion wings, buffalo wings, and baked potato skin), stuff mushroom with crab meat and shrimp, and half slab baby back ribs. The little princess gets her sphaghetti from kids menu.

The waiter was kind enough to suggest that the spicy sauce of the buffalo wings may be served separately so that the little princess could also have some wings.

The food was of good quality. The nice waiter waiting our table was very attentive.

We ended up paying about $500.

Went there with my wife and little princess on Sunday evening (18 May 2008) as my little princess wanted to have western cuisine. Joia is an Italian restaurant.

We arrived there at about 7pm, which was quite empty at that time. We well served by a Filipino waitress, who was courteous and attentive. After we placed our order, my little princess fell asleep, as she had playing for a long time that time. The Filipino waitress got some cushion to make my little princess comfortable.

My wife and I wanted to have wine, but the wine list is not really attractive, so we have beer instead (yes, beer for Italian food...).

We have order -
(a) a pizza with mushroom, ham, and truffles, etc., at $188. Traditional Italian type, nothing special though.
(b) Spaghetti lobster at $238. It tastes good, with a few fresh lobster meat. However, the portion is so small that even my little princess (of 6 years old) feels not enough.
(c) we have additionally ordered deep fried king prawns and squid at $258. The portion, again, is exceptionally small. The taste is even worst than pub food. Too much powder for frying. The king prawns were just ordinary shrimps, far from "king".

We ended up paying $967 for 2 adults and 1 kid. My wife said that a wanton noodle is even better.

The quality of food and the price, are disproportional.

Went there on 20 April 2008 with the "She who must be obeyed" and my little princess for dinner. The restaurant was clearly named after Forrest Gump.

We have ordered a kid's meal (linguini with meat sauce, fruit and desert), fish and chips. I have forgotten the name of the remaining dish but it is shrimp soup with rice. I also have two pints of beer to flush down the fish and chips.

The quality of the food is fine. But the chips were not chips. They were fries. The soup comes with a big portion.

The service was excellant. My wife was not happy with the table and had asked for change for 4 times. I am sure the waitresses were very unhappy but none of them gave us "black face". Eventually, my wife got her desired window table. After we have settled eventually, the lady who served our table was extremely attentive.

The view is rather good initially, as it was after the big rain so the sky was clear. However, a thin film of fog/cloud appeared and blocked the view slightly.

There is a small bar inside the restaurant, facing north. The view is great. The price of the beer is not expensive. It may be a good place for those who work in Central, take a trip on peak tram, have a pint or two, being going home.

I ended up paying HK$450 for 3 persons.

Went to have lunch with my wife and little princess on 4/4/08. They have a holiday lunch menu, which is their ordinary menu, with discount and in small portion. May be it was holiday, it was not crowdy.

We ordered lots of different dishes as they were in small portion. All of them are great. As my wife said, the food were prepared with "heart". In particular, 霸王小籠包is nearly the best I have in Hong Kong.

Most of the waiters and waitresses were great. They kept refilling the tea pot, without asking them to so do. One of them is rather un-attentive though.

We ended up spending HK$180.

Have lunch here on 1 April 2008 with colleagues. Altogether we have 9 persons, arrived at 12:45pm.

The place has been redecorated and reopened. The decoration and setting are very different from before. Now it looks like a western restaurant then Chiu Chau restaurant.

We have ordered a lot of dim sums, a couple of fried noodles and vegetables, and desserts. It was a man in dark suit who took our orders.

Perhaps it was the April fool day, when all our fried noodles, vegetables and even desserts had arrived, we saw no sign of our dim sums. Besides, same type of dishes of some other tables kept putting on our tables, althgouh we have repeatedly said that we have never ordered those dishes.

Eventually we asked one of the waitors to check our orders. The print out shows that many other dishes, not ordered by us, appeared on our print out. Yet, none of the dim sums turned up.

We witnesses that many dishes mistakely placed on our table were subsequently "taken over" by the next table. Probably, our dim sums have been sent to the next table.

Eventally, at 1:45pm, a waiter said he would take care of our outstanding dim sums. At 2pm, 2 dim sums eventually turned up, with the other 6 disappeared.

At 2:15pm, we could not tolerate any more and checked our bill. The restaurant has given us coupons for complimentary dishes as a sign of apology.

All together, we spent about HK$1,000.

Went there with my wife for dinner. There were only a few patrons inside.

We have ordered:
小籠包: tastes like frozen stuff, very ordinary, nothing special.
蘿白絲酥餅: very oily, but hot, and taste quite good.
素鵝: again, very oily, not crispy, and not hot.
妙雜菇: ordinary, nothing special.
醉鷄: the sauce is like that in 紅油妙手, with peanut sauce, etc., not the ordinary sauce. Again, very oily, and horrible.
宋嫂魚(更): my wife have it, looks good.

We ended up paying $289. Compare with the quality of the food, it is not worth it.

The service is good though. They gave us a 4 persons table, very attentive, keep refilling our tea, and changed our plates.
