2015-02-28 21:09118.140.x.xHi! I am Shirley Chen, master degree student from Hong Kong Baptist University. I am now doing a research on French restaurants in Hong Kong. I noticed that you have so many fantastic experiences in Hong Kong restaurants! Could you please answer a few questions and share your own experiences to help me doing the research? It really important to me!
The questions are as following:
1. How do you know about Petrus?
2. Why have you chosen to dine in Petrus?
3. What do you like/dislike about Petrus the most?
4. What elements should a good French dining restaurant has? Eg, French design, warm attitude of staffs.
5. What is your best or worst dinning experience in a French restaurant?
My contact email is 14455668@life.hkbu.edu.hk. Best regards and many thanks! And your answers will only be used on students' report and be kept confidential!
Steirereck2014-03-27 12:31101.78.x.xRead your article and saw the photos. Really saw I missed the restaurant the last time I went to Vienna. Got to make up for it.
Have you tried the Wagyu Takumi? It is really the best new restaurant in town. It already has two stars, and is ready to go to three, I'm sure. Japanese French cuisine. Superb.
Re: Steirereck2014-03-27 16:04yes I was actually quite amazed with Steirereck
Yes Wagyu Takum's on my to-go list. Jap and French cuisine are my all-time fav There's a new restaurant called NUR which was only mentioned this mth, definitely wanted to check out too!

Re: Brunch2010-09-14 17:21113.28.x.xyeah! wohoo! I will be back on the 24th
yeah! I have a list of places in London I wanted to try and hopeful I can try them all! To walk off the food, I have decided to go shopping as exercises to counter the food and desserts! I am all so excited about it just thinking about it! ... perhaps it is a good time to change my wardrobe as well, winter is coming to HK! and I need bigger jeans / pants sooner or later from all these eating!
Morton's used to be my favorite but not as good as before now. Don't expect Ruth Chris to be as good as the States but fairly decent in my opinion, more causal compared with Morton's. If I have to pick one between the two mentioned, I would pick Ruth Chris for sure.
The Steak House Bar and Grill at the InterContinental is good but on the costly side. I like how they present the different salt to come with it. Oh right, the Steak House Bar and Grill offers Sunday Brunch as well! Almost forgot about that.
Great timing! I just had Brunch this afternoon as well and it was quite a meal indeed!
When you mention Brunch I assume you are talking about those all you can eat buffet brunch right? If that is the case, I have a few options:
1) Sheraton Oyster and Wine Bar Champagne Brunch
If you are a Oyster fan, this is a good pick! Not overly crowded like other brunch places, you can enjoy a nice Sunday afternoon with a great view overlooking the Victoria Harbour. It does not have the greatest selection of items but I like how the hot dishes are ordered on demand instead of buffet-grab-yourself style.
2) Whisk Sunday Champagne Brunch
The have a great selection of "starters" and desserts. A Fair selection of cheese and I think the caviar station was one of their highlights if you are into that. I am still trying to appreciate caviar ... I like the vodka shot that comes with it though Another highlights for Whisk must be their Roasted Suckling Pig which they serve during brunch as well. Most of the hot items here are on demand as well. A must try is the Gourmet Egg with Cheese foam! Not bad indeed! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jason-bonvivant/4929047763/)
3) Bistecca (LKF) or Prime Steak (Elements)
If anyone is up for some steak, both Bistecca and Prime offer a decent Brunch menu. I tried Bistecca and enjoyed it. Simple selection of starters and desserts, but it was the beef I was looking for! ... The same with Prime @ Elements. I am yet to try their Brunch but heard fair reviews from others. I tried their dinner and it was alright, fair price range for its quality.
5) ISOLA
I am sure you have tried it at some point for lunch or dinner, not the best options but at least it has a good view and fairly comfortable. There is a reason I ranked it at number 5 in this list haha ....
Both the the places above are relative quiet unlike other places such as Kitchen @ W Hotel. I quite enjoy Union J before but too bad they closed down. If you are looking for something more casual, I would suggest the following:
6) Green Waffle Diner
As the name suggests, waffles!

Next Sunday??? ... argh! I would LOVE to join but I will be in London next week. (Perhaps I should have brunch in London this coming Sunday as well keke) ... argh! I am sure one will never get tired of brunches and desserts right?
Re: Re Brunch: 2010-09-12 23:10wow~ you're such an expert! actually i mean the sunday after next week? would you be back from London? I'm so jealous that you are gonna have a getaway from HK! I would love to try out all the good food places in London as well!
But yes, I've been to Bistecca! Loved their steak! any recommendations on steakhouse in Hong Kong? I heard Morton's isn't that great here and I was wondering if Ruth Chris is just as awesome as the one in the states.
:)2010-07-29 11:07219.76.x.xoooooh ... really?????? WOW ... that rendezvous was certainly a surprise indeed! A very "blushing" moment for me but it was my pleasure to meet your friends indeed!
