Went to Central to get something today, and wanted to find a place to get a drink and some snack. This is the second time I ordered their 奶油豬. The butter and condensed milk makes good combination with toasted bun. It tasted good the first time I tried (couple months ago), but, the bun served today was cold and not as crispy.

奶油豬 The savoriness of the butter and the sweetness of the condensed milk combined is sensational. The bun is toasted to a crispy texture as well, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The milk tea here is also good, though of course not as good as 冰鎮 ones, and at $17 for an iced one, it’s even more expensive than the bun… However, without it, I would have fainted from the heat and stuffiness of this place, during the crazily crowded lunch hour. I had garoupa coury and a hot milk tea. One of the best meals I've ever had. I wish I could get something like the garoupa curry in NYC, but only in HK. Other Ratings: Taste 5 | Environment 5 | Service 5 | Hygiene 5 | Value for Money 5

It's absolutely insane during weekday lunch times esp. between 12:30 - 1:30pm, but nonetheless I still like to come here sometimes for lunch! Just coz it's Tsui Wah! I have had Tsui Wah in this location so many times. The atmosphere/mood/level of service depends on the time of the day. If you go during lunchtimes on a weekday it's super hectic and they would keep referring to "upstairs! upstairs!" although there aren't actually more seats upstairs.. Anyway yes you would probably have to stand right behind or next to a table and wait for them to finish slurping their noodles and finally get out of their seats. Not the calmest and appetizing environment to eat but I just love their menu selection and they consistently churn out pretty decent foods! There are plenty of Cha Chan Tangs around but Tsui Wah gives me the impression that the quality is consistent and I don't feel super MSG-ed afterwards. (I don't think they use MSG?) whereas other smaller and cheaper places, I might feel super thirsty after eating their stuff. Anyway, their 米線 is really good and I just love their 湯底. This particular visit I had their 魚皮餃米線 and their steamed 芥蘭. 魚皮餃米線 has 5 dumplings and the vegetables were well steamed, not too raw or not too soft. Both were good. Usually they serve food pretty fast but if they forget.. then I guess you would have to chase them! Another thing I like about Tsui Wah is their Curry!! P.S. Could someone please teach me how to put a thumbs up or thumbs down icon in my post?? Finally back to HK to write my first review. Anyway, I went to Tsui Wah again for a light lunch. I ordered the same old food, like the lemon barley water and the fishball vermicelli, but this time those 2 dishes proved to be disappointing. For the lemon barley water, the water just simply tasted sweet and the lemon flavor wasn't that strong. The barley was huge and I had to break them down into smaller pieces. Compared to the last time I had it, it was much better made. As for the fishball vermicelli soup noodles, the noodles were fine, but the fishballs were horrible and not quite edible. Anyway, definitely not as good as before. I think the food quality in this restaurant is seriously deteriorating and I would think twice next time whether I would choose to return. Price here isn't cheap either and service isn't that great.

Went here for dinner again. Again ordered the fishball noodles, a plate of veggies and some 薏米水. Again the fishball noodles tasted good. The fishballs had a nice texture and were not soggy at all. So were the noodles. As for the veggies, pretty good, but a bit dirty as there were some noodles mixed with them. As for the lemon barley water, it tasted quite nice as usual, but service was weird as they gave me a large cold one in the first place. Anyway, it's a good place for a reasonable dinner, but definitely not cheap!

Went here for lunch today with my friend as it's relatively cheap! Anyway, I went for the fishball noodles and the lemon barley water. My friend went for the egg sandwich and 豬仔包. The fishball noodles were very good. Tingling fishballs and the noodles were not too soft ($25). The lemon barley water was much better than the takeaway! As for the egg sandwich, my friend complimented that the egg was nicely made. As for the 豬仔包 ($12), it was delicious and much better than the takeaway. The bread wasn't too hard at all. My friend also ordered the green tea tofu ice-cream drink and she complained that there were a bit too many red beans. Anyway, service was not too bad but when we asked the waiter for some warm water, he didn't give it to us until after around 10 minutes. Food here is relatively cheap in terms of standards in Central.

Had to work overtime again and so ordered delivery with a bunch of colleagues from Tsui Wah. AGAIN. Anyway, I ordered my healthy diet meal and went for fishball noodles (米粉), lightly fried broccoli and 薏米水. When my food came, the fishballs were still very fresh and it mixed well with the soup. When I poured the soup into the noodles, they were edible and in fact, very tasty. The broccoli was again pretty good. Lots of broccoli and nicely fried. As for the drink, it was delicious and yummy with some lemon flavor and not too strong. Very big 薏米 as well! All in all, delivery was pretty fast this time and I was quite satisfied overall compared to the "pork oil bun" last time.

Was forced to order delivery tonight as we had to work overtime. Didn't get to take pictures this time, but anyway, ordered 1) 奶油豬仔包: tasted not good at all when delivered; 2) Broccoli with garlic: not bad! Put in lots of garlic and keung, tasted alright; and 3) Lemon water with 薏米: not bad when it's warm. Anyway, prices are not low here and food is pretty expensive! Delivery was pretty slow as well. Could be much better.... Date of Visit: Nov 21, 2009 Spending per head: Approximately HKD63(Dinner) Other Ratings: Taste 3 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Hygiene 3 | Value for Money 2

my family and i went around in central to look for a nice carpet for our newly furnished apartment. after visiting three stores, it was already two something and we decided to have lunch. having no idea where to go and what to eat, we stopped at tsui wah right opposite to the famous yung kee. it was so crowded...anyways, we managed to find ourselves seats upstairs. after reading numerous notecards on the tables and the menus, we ended up ordering: 1.咖哩牛筋濫飯 2.魚腐米線(撈) 3.鹿兒島豬軟骨撈公仔麵 4. fishballs 5.a dish of vegetables plus an iced coffee, iced lemon tea and iced milk tea. my parents didnt comment on their meals so i will just comment on what i had-鹿兒島豬軟骨撈公仔麵. it took a longer time than the rest to be served-the ah je explained that they had to make this downstairs, not upstairs. well, i dont really know if its really a reason or an excuse. :S anyways, when it was served, i thought i saw three chunks of 煲湯豬肉. and the instant noodles....well, they are just ordinary instant noodles. when i began to mix the whole thing up with my chopsticks, i discovered a THICK layer of OIL at the bottom of my disk. the stewed pork actually tasted OKAY but it was a bit salty. the instant noodles...well, it was oily. as a result i could only finish half of eat because of the heaviness........and up till now i can yet think of the correlation of this dish with 鹿兒島. as for my iced milk tea, it is very 重 in 奶味 and it doesnt have the bitterness from tea you usually find in bad-quality milk teas. i aint sure if its the way how they cover up the bitterness or whether it is how their special blend of milk tea tastes like, but its just not my cup of tea. our lunch costs over 200.

After a disappointing experience at Pierce Chicken, my locust friend and I decided to console our poor souls (and stomach) at the nearby 翠華, which is usually up to standard. Since we already had "dinner", we only ordered a 奶油多 and a 奶油豬仔包, along with drinks. First to arrive was the toast. I have to admit that the fact that we have fed our cameras before feeding ourselves was partly to blame, but this toast only "looked" like it was toasted, and was completely not crispy -- it kind of tasted like rubber. The piggy bun was much better, though. Despite that it tasted a bit like the bun is a bit "overnight", it was nonetheless crispy (and kind of soft in the middle as well!). Fortunately, both our "milk tea" held up to its usual standard...
