Lardos will always remain as my favourite restaurant. and if I have the chance to return to Tseung Kwan O, I will revisit this restaurant for sure. Some may find the restaurant a bit crowded and closely packed but I really like the cosy atmosphere in there. The food is nice as well. Highly recommended is the soup. Since it is served in a mug, my colleagues always like to hold it in their hands on cold winter days. Other than soup, they also serve salad as the appetizer. As for the main course, there are three choices, usually A is the steak and C is the pasta, as for B, sometimes they offer fish, sometimes pork chops, mutton or chicken. You can have fried chips/smashed potatoes/rice/spaghetti. My mom loves the fries as they are thick and freshly made. The smashed potatoes is creamy. As I'm a weight-watcher, I always ask for salad and the portion is generous. When one is so fed up with food offered in chain store, the production of a special little shop with character is attractive, especially when the price of a set lunch is offered at $65 per set including appetizer, a main course plus a drink and a warm smile from one of the working staff there! I will miss the restaurant.

Came here with my family and relatives a couple of months ago; at first I was not expecting much because the restaurant seemed 'way out there' and outside decoration looked very modest. Didn't call the set lunch (which seemed very cheap, around $70) because their a la carte was supposedly infinitely better. We shared a full rack of lamb - and I must say the lamb is seriously one of the best I have had in Hong Kong, but unfortunately I cannot remember the price. As for main course, I had a T-bone steak ($250), which was very solidly good, not spectacularly amazing, but definitely good regardless. Service was acceptable, nothing special but nothing to criticize on either. I just went there with my family, total four people for dinner tonight. Service: We got a booking for 8.30pm - we arrived there at 8pm, my mum got a knee problem so we wanted to get in earlier (there were empty seats inside). However, the owner says NO! She mentioned that she needs to clean up and re-arrange seats for the guests later on..... We argue for a bit but at least she takes a chair out so my mum can sit outside to wait for another 15 mins. Food: crab cake - it is okay though it is more fish then crab... Sirloin steak - very bad, many tendon Ribeye steak - okay Lamb rack - okay -- the sauces for the steak came almost like 10 minutes late which are not good.... We mentioned to a waiter that the sirloin is full of tendon... and he replies, "You are not the first customer talking about this...." it seems like he doesn't really care despite numerous complaints by customers.... Not something I would expect from a place that prides itself for steak. Conclusion: Would rather go to a more expensive place for real steak, or go to a low end place for cheap stuff. rx78 (Non-member) | Last night, having dinner with wife there. One of my friends told me that there is a good steak house in Tsang Kwan O. A small steak house, housing around 10 tables. The starter: goose liver, taste is ok, comparable to most of the good restaurants. Steak: I order a 12 oz US prime beef ribeye, while my wife ordered a 8oz one. Very good in beef quality, High standard of grilling technique, i order medium rare, while my wife orders medium, and the degree is perfectly matched. I found that the standard is comparable to the Ruth and Morton one. Don't order the sauce for the steak as mentioned in the menu, NEVER & NEVER. Good steak needs no sauce. Dessert: Chocolate mosse, average in quality Overall, very good steak in both quality and cooking technique, and only half price comparing with Ruth or Morton Recommended Dish(es):

Specially made a trip to this restaurant after reading some mixed reviews here. Me: Australian steak (forgot which cut)..honestly cooked well & gravy fitting well Friend: Ribs...nearly being meatless (even if not, still extremely hard) Friend 2: Salmon...mediocre Shared: Fried seafood platter...er... Thank you, but never again. As mentioned by others previously, the food quality, service & the environment TOTALLY does not warrant such $ Spending per head: Approximately HKD200 Other Ratings: Taste 3 | Environment 2 | Service 3 | Hygiene 2 | Value for Money 2

Zoe (Non-member) | Date: 26Jan08 For starters we shared a crab cake which was very nice, much to my surprise since no one really makes real crab cakes in Hong Kong. The two of us both ordered Grilled Lamp Chop, medium rare, with red wine sauce. It was great!!! Very good value for the price we paid. Lamp chop was not overdone, which happens all the time with other restaurants. The grilled veggies on the side was nice, and I loved the baked potato with the generous toppings! Chocolate mousses for dessert, very nice, but a bit too much after such a big meal. It's not a very nice environment but the quality of the steaks are great for a very good value. Will definitely visit often! Spending per head: Approximately HKD593 Other Ratings: Taste 5 | Environment 3 | Service 4 | Hygiene 3 | Value for Money 4

Just went to LARDOS steak house this Wednesday. very far away. I took the reccomedation of a newspaper article to try the steak there. First of all, the newspaper's info was incorrect. $349 is for a 16oz steak, not 32oz. Also, I would go there again to try the rib eye and sirlon steak. my gf and I tried the tenderlon (medimum rare). It was good, but not as good as the reviews claimed. I read that the owner of this place also supplies steaks to 5-star hotel in Hong Kong, and the price charge at LARDOS is already deeply discounted. I thought the appetizer, fried prawn was good, but slightly overprice($110). The overall experience was positive. Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Hygiene 4 | Value for Money 3
