We had lunch there today. We order 2 set lunch a pizza hazelnut chocolate. This restaurent is Good service, attentive staffs, and the food is nice. Also the salad starter and bread is really nice like tradition Italian restaurant. If soup and salad can coming together in a set, will be more nice. Steak is good. Noodle not enough seasonate, I need to put little salt, pizza is traditional style . Overall, I recognize this the best italian restaurant so far I teste in yuen long. Recommended Dish(es):

Thank you MTR for giving out free tickets, so I and my husband could go to a place far away from home for free! We couldnt just go to Yuen Long and do nothing. Therefore we picked this restaurant from Openrice. We really appreciated the food! The meats were so good! The lamb was very juicy! Though we could only sit outside under a hot weather, we still enjoyed the lunch very much! Compare to another restaurant just tried 2 days ago, A La Maison Restaurant & Bar at North Point, which the food was expensive with "ok" quality, Savour Cafe lighted up our holiday!

I am a reasonably frequent customer of Savour Cafe, but I rarely write reviews here on Openrice. Since I'm in a writing mood now, I'll write about my last experience there. This time round it was for lunch. Service is good, but it used to be top notch here. It's probably staff turnover, as the only person I recognized this time was one of the managers. Our server seemed a bit spaced out, but he smiled and was polite. We had a set lunch, which came with an appetizer and a drink. I had a pork tenderloin with a mixed vegetable salad with salami while my partner had fish fillet with a soup of the day. The set salad was excellent. The greens were fresh and combined well with the salami slices. A vinaigrette, with just the right amount of sourness, tied it all together. The soup of the day was mushroom soup that time, also excellent. Rich mushroom flavor with chewy bits of mushroom. The fish was excellent. It was pan fried and cooked very well, tender and not dry. They coated the fish with beaten egg; some people may take issue but I don't mind. The fish came with sauteed potatoes, also well done. The pork was excellent as well. It was served with a honey sauce that combined quite well with the pork. This was served with a bit of pasta in a tomato sauce. The pasta was not al dente, but the flavor was good. For the set drink we both had the hot honey chrysanthemum ginger. This was refreshing, not too sweet, and had a strong ginger taste. The cups they use are ergonomically designed and are perfectly molded to your hand as you grip the cup. The ambience is very good. An excellent choice for any romantic occasion. It is even better at night as they have candles and the place is dimly lit. Overall, this was a great lunch. One thing that I noticed is that while the set lunch represents great value, the same cannot be said for the regular menu for dinner. While the prices on the regular menu have increased (understandable due to inflation), the portions have also shrunk by about one quarter (I read some other reviewers write that the portions have shrunk by about one half in some cases!). Personally, I would prefer that they raised prices without shrinking the portions. Whereas a price increase is transparent up front (you see it when you order), a shrunk portion is not apparent until the dish is served. Sort of an "out of the blue"/"way out of left field" thing, if you know what I mean. This is the only point of disappointment from someone who has dined here for some time. We were seated immediately, which was impressive enough on a Friday night. We thought we would have another long wait. Our waiter was energetic and enthusiastic, extremely helpful and attentive, and very personable. The wine menus were also very impressive, and I enjoyed the red house wine. The food was DELICIOUS –here are the highlights of our entire meal Appetizer - Foie gras - crispy outside and buttery soft inside. Good! Alaska crab leg - still juicy, taste fresh and moist – although it is cooked and blast frozen. Soap Cream Mushroom soup – Creamy with bite-sized pieces, just love it! Main dish Rib eye steak – It was HUGE! It was also very tender and has nice marbling, providing the steak with a rich flavor. Pork Chop – It was juicy, tender, and very nicely cooked. The meal was finished with Chocolate pudding and Cream Brulee – it was on FIRE! I must say that my friend is one of the most picky Cream Brulee eaters I have ever seen (she admits this - I'm not telling on her!) and her face lit up when she took the first bite. She was so disappointed when she couldn't finish it because she was so full from the rest of the meal. I love Chocolate and Chocolate desserts – especially they were made of dark chocolate, not so sweet, incredible!!
