Dried abalone  Smile Aug 09, 2011

The restaurant was crowed wih people when I went there. There was a group of tourists that night.

I can say that Forum is specialise in abalone and they just do it so well here. I have tried many abalone restaurant in Hong Kong. But it is the best Chinese abalone I have ever tried. The abalone is so tender and just-right flavored! The brown sauce is just a bit sticky and it is so well with the abalone. I really would like to order one more if I get more money!!!

Price is more expensive than a typical Chinese restaurant but the food they offer is truly top of the class. It is such a great place for tourists and even for fine dining.

Luxurious Dinner! Just OK Apr 26, 2011
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
My family of four came to Forum Restaurant for the first time to celebrate the Easter Holiday.
We arrived at 7pm and the restaurant was only 20% full shocked

We have ordered the set dinner as below:

    1. 蟹皇燴燕窩

Very rich and tasteful! But we think it is a bit over-seasoned and that there are too much pork pieces in it mad

    2. 吉品扣鵝掌伴唐生菜

The abalone is very tender and taster very nice! The surprise falls on the duck feet though, for that it is really rich & just-right flavored! Its also made to have very good texture so that it is not too soft. Super nice tonguetonguetongue

    3. 崧子吉列龍躉塊

The nuts are very nice but there were too much sauce mad
Would be much better with less sauce since it is too strong flavored.
The fish is not especially nice

    4. 瑤柱蟹肉燒釀雞翼

We couldnt feel any crab meat in it, 90% of the stuffing is pork which we do not like at all!! The worst in all courses!huffyhuffyhuffy

    5. 鮑汁炒飯

The presentation didnt seem too good but actually it tastes nice! The abalone sauce was very rich, and the rice was with very good chewy texture that its not fluffy even with so much sauce on. Yum Yumtongue

    6. 蛋白杏仁茶

The dessert was very nice! I love the fact that the egg white was made JUST RIGHT and they added some sago into it so theres something to chew. The almond soup was also thick and nice and nicely seasoned so its not too sweet.

    合時生果

This is just soso ---- we think they added syrup to make it sweet

Overall the food is okay but not as nice as we thought it would be.
A bonus though is that the waitors there are very polite and welcoming smile

I also had some terrible experience dining at this restaurant about a month ago. The service attitude of the waiters there is totally UNACCEPTABLE!!!

My boss and I entertained our corporate clients (from Mainland China) and invited them to have dinner in this restaurant. We had altogether 6 people, and we ordered the usual stuff(such as shark fin soup, abalone, BBQ duck & roasted pig etc.) plus 3 bottles of expensive red wine(almost HK$1200 each). At the end, we asked for the bill and it turned out to be around HK$14,000.

Usually in a situation like this, I pay first and my BIG boss will approve this company expense later in the office. So I asked for the bill and checked out the items listed on the bill. DO YOU KNOW WHAT THIS WAITER(an older man in his early 50s) MUMBLE by my side???
"Why checking the details?? You don't really pay for it yourself. It is company expenses anyway!!!" My boss and I looked at each other, and I decided not to pay any extra tips. Then the waiter immediately looked upset on his face and of course did not even say "Thank You".
