worst place for take away  Dec 17, 2012

I have gone to this restaurant twice for take away breakfast. Both times I was the first customer at 08:00 a.m. Both times they managed to prepare over a dozen other peoples meals before I had to remind them I was standing there waiting for my order. And all I was ordering was macaroni in soup. Their cooking and serving staff are just too lazy to have take away prepped out. I saw them serve at least 3 sit down people the exact meal I ordered before getting to me. both times I was waiting between 12 and 15 minutes. This is Hong Kong for god sakes! I have never ever........EVER had to to wait 15 minutes for a take away meal. especially breakfast.

Food itself was mediocre. I bought the macaroni soup with egg and luncheon meat. egg yoke was done right (still runny) but, the macaroni was aldente and not in a good way. In the "we use cheap pasta and undercook it" way. Soup stock was nothing you'd remember. I've had good macaroni soup (ex. Sing Heung Yuen) but these guys were basically like McDonalds.

Sadly their milk tea was run of the mill also. pretty much they same half assed tea you get with your sago drink. This is where McDonalds would beat them. How sad is that?

I gave them a second chance and they blew it, completely. Never going back.

Now looking for a place to pick up breakfast in TaiKoo near cityplaza.

yummy tea  Smile May 28, 2012

went shopping yesterday and looking for places for afternoon tea. found this new one which haven't try before. at first i want to order yogurt but being attracted by their tea sets. i saw the french toast looked very nice so we decided to order one crispy bun and one french toast set with two ice coffees. the crispy bun came first and it was really crispy with tasty butter and condensed milk, love it.. when the french toast came, the presentation was very good - flower shaped butter in the middle and syrup around. the french toast was very yummy, not too over fried and with just the right amount of butter and syrup. the only one thing that their iced coffee is a bit sweet even though we ordered less syrup. the lady sat next to us was having laksa and she said was yummy too, will try next time

I have good impression of the one locates in TST. Knowing the new one just opened not long ago in Taikoo, no doubt I’d give a try!

The dish of chicken steak with rice in mushroom sauce ($50) tasted rich and concentrated. Also, I like thed crispy skin of chicken steak that it being fried well.

The linguini with prawns in tomato sauce and a piece of crunchy bread ($68) tasted fabulous! The size of prawns was absolutely big enough, ingredients were fresh, thumb up!

The baked pork steak with rice in tomato sauce served with fried egg ($65) tasted nice and fresh though; the quality still not reaches the level of $60+ as priced. We think it’s slightly over-priced..

Spaghetti with spicy seafood ($68) was unexpectedly small in portion. It’s served with a piece of bread though, still couldn’t compare to the rest, a bit disappointed…

I like the coffee here by the way. Especially the Cappuccino with de Caffeine (+$10), which tasted very creamy and smelled good!

This is one of the ideal places to indulge in leisure out of office.

    Peace
