Passed by this outlet, attracted by it's very bright and spacious interior design, although I was not planning to have pizza for lunch.

Big windows viewing the harbour, pleasant service and nice environment, definitely help my appetite. They offer lunch sets with appetizers, main courses and drinks. Reasonable price, nice.

I ordered the Baked Mushroom with dough sticks and Spaghetti Bolognese, the appetizer looks very cute, and the bread taste good. Spaghetti Bolognese is the only choice of pasta, out of several choices of pizza. Not bad, served with green salad, quite healthy.

Iced tea can be re-filled, the portion is not small so no room for dessert. I saw another customer ordered the chocolate cake, looked quite good.

They also serve light-pizza, kind of low calories prizza. Will try next time. smile

I was scheduled to visit two different pizza shops during consecutive days, a good thing as comparing the shops side by side gives you a better idea of the different selection of ingredients used and the final outcome of the product. I have always held the belief that Hong Kong might have a lot of pizzerie shops but most of them aren't really upto world standards. Whichever variety of pizza you refer to, one will easily find better quality overseas. That's especially with the prestigious Napoletana Pizza (VPN spec), the latter which has none in Hong Kong but are spotted around the globe in International Cities.

Pizza Express has always been one of the rare shops which are at least up to par with International Standards, being of UK origins definitely helps. This is British x Rome styled thin crust pizza, although if you want a slightly thicker crust they also serve that as a base.

    .

    bowlPizza Margherita Prima -
This is one of their better Margherita versions with imported and softer Buffalo Mozzarella and Basil leaves, with San Marzano based tomato base. For me, this is more of a Napoletana style pizza, but considering this as a hybrid of a Rome pizza this was quite decent. I think the cheese could have melted less for my liking. 3/5

    .

    bowlPizza Torino -
Fontina and Parmesan cheese with organic portobello (portabella) mushrooms, thick bechamel sauce and a hint of chili and garlic. This was a pizza bianco style without tomato sauce! 4/5

Goes quite well with the modern Italian schemed food tonight. lol

    .

    bowlPizza Diavola -
With Pepperoni Sausage, Spicy Beef and Jalapenos, this was one of the dishes I liked the most. The mixture of sausages and spicy beef with a Mexican style jalapeno pepper was exotic. Although not the biggest fan of spicy food for some reason this really stood out amongst the pizze. 4.5/5

    .

    bowlSpaghetti con Polpette -
This was one of my 3 favourite dishes of the night. Beef Meatballs and spiced Bolognese sauce was really giving this pasta a fiery kick but remained subtly under control, the addition of garlic and parsley didn't hurt. The beef meatballs were also decent unlike the doughy type. 4/5

    .

    bowlFarfalle Pancetta e Gorgonzola -
This bow tie pasta was cooked with pancetta ham but the blue cheese flavour from the Gorgonzola was a little weak, which, might be a good thing depending on the customer? I thought this dish was a little too thin creamy for my liking, but I guess this is probably a dish local people will come to enjoy! 3/5

    .

    bowlFig Tart -
My other favourite dish of the night. Every slice of this was baked slightly different, but the better ones weren't as overly wet as the others but came out pretty crunchy on the surface yet spongy and hot in the middle. This replaced our gelati which were cancelled due to machine faults, but I was happy to get this as an replacement! 4.5/5

    .

    bowlSnowball Dough Balls -
Came with heavily cinnamon spiced chocolate dip, and the dough balls were the same as another savoury Mushroom entry. i thought this was decent but as a dessert, was a bit too simple. I wouldn't personally pay to eat this dessert.

We ate a few more of other dishes, some worked better than others definitely. Pizza Express from the UK has always been one of a local benchmarks to measure against other thin crust pizzas in town, I mean, it is successful for a reason. Because pizzas in general in HK are simply terrible indeed.... here, at least they attempted to make a decent pizza, also some pastas and desserts which also works at this affordable price level. Everything is measured relatively as HK pizze are simply not right up there yet, but this shop definitely gave us some hope
