banchan_fan (Non-member) | Dropped by for a late lunch today. Lunch sets are ok but slightly higher priced than similar locales nearby. The server was incredibly rude and was simply trying to rush customers out of the restaurant so they can go on break. In a town FILLED will quality Japanese food, there is no need to suffer the indignity and "attitude" from the wait staff. Simply put, I will never go to this restaurant again and will not recommend it to ANY of my friends. Date of Visit: Jan 09, 2011

To celebrate my bf ‘s birthday last night , we went to have dinner there last night . After sitting down and going through the menu, we couldn’t find those sushi or special meal in their menu, which I found from the Openrice 2 days ago . Finally, ordered 1 bottle of Japanese Beer and one Dinner set for 2 .. Food is Ok but below the expectation . ( can say the standard is more or less the same 板 x but at high price ) 海膽 is very fresh and delicious Service is Ok .. ( but very funny that once we sat down, the waitress didn’t give us any Green tea but asked which drink we would like .. she supposed us to order beer or other special drink .. ) Conclusion : 一般質素但上等價錢 .. Disappointed ! 用餐日期: 2010-07-7 是次消費: 每人約HKD330 Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

Considering the fact that this is a "Sushi" restaurant (順壽司) I would not say that I've been particularly impressed by the sushi here. What I tend to order is their special lunch set that often includes a small portion of their handmade zaru-udon, which is nicely chewy and refreshing. Sometimes they also do a foie-gras don that tastes pretty good considering the fact that it costs only around $100. (I've also tried the beef-don but wouldn't recommend it...) I like the miso soup they serve with most lunches too - it contains slices of daikon and diced fish, a nice change from the typical wakame & tofu. I've also been here for dinner quite a few times - none of which left much good impression but none too bad either. Grilled ox tongue was a slight disappointment, nikujaga was literally tasteless, but the deep fried oysters and fish were decent... this is a "sushi" restaurant, not an izakaya or Japanese home-style diner after all. Unfortunately as I've mentioned at the beginning, even the sushi here need big improvement. My aburi-toro sushis were over-seared and the nigiri (rice ball) of the sushis were too big. I think I prefer coming here for lunch - cheap and reasonable quality.

Environment : I have been here a few times previously. :ast time, I was probably drinking more than several sakes with my buddies and not able to appreciate the food. BTW, this is the place I saw how the sushi chef cleaned their counter every night. A fix procedure and it is very clean. I walked in on a Saturaday afternoon. It was kind of full with a few counter seats available. I took the counter seat facing the little crab. Menu and Ordering: Menu arrived quickly. The set lunch has about 10 different main courses with soba or udon. A "Three-color" sashimi rice set with my usual zaru soba [cold soba]. was my final choice. There are many good choices I like as I have not eaten Japanese food for a about a month. The food : Pls pardon my lack of experience in naming fish. Majority of fishes I ate are usually sushi, sashimi, and a few steamed fish. The white fish and salmon roe were fresh. I usually avoid uni somehow. But this is different. It soft, not fishy at all, with a small hint of sea water. I like it a lot and I finished the bowl quickily. Zaru soba arrived right afterward. I added all the ingredients into the soya sause. It's just the way I like it : cold, chewy, not too salty, tastes of wasabi & green onions. Overall, the seafood have been fresh of all the times I have visited . Service has been prompt, pleasant, polite, and efficient. I am looking forward to going back for more.

Just dun wanna go too far and we had lunch just a street away - June, that we usu have dinner there We had sashimi set and curry pork rice. Sashimi rice with noodles. A bowl of sashimi rice with uni, salmon roe and ... the forgotten fish, haha. Really a bowl of rice. Yet the rice is still too warm and too glutinous to serve. The noodles is much better. The highlight is the noodles, which is quite chewy. And the sauce is accomplished with the noodles. My curry pork rice is a big big plate. The fried pork is not bad, just tender. The carrot is soft and the curry is not spicy, not that sweet too. But I expect more curry for the rice ... and I really cant complete the plate. Regarding the price and service, it is quite a good choice. I always wonder if the little crabs in the jar right along the chef counter are already insane ... looking at the chef chopping and customers eating

I spent a wonderful girls’night there. They have 50% discount off for selected Sake on every Mon –Wed. Four of us have ordered one of the 1.5Liter Sake. It was only $1xx. As we want to drink in hot, they warm it up for us, and told us that the 1.5L Sake can divide into 6 small bottles. They clearly stated in the menu that any unfinished Sake can keep in their restaurant for one month. Crazy us, we drink all. We ordered three appetites (edamame, baked dried fugu, and cod roe salad) while waiting for the last person to show up. The food was delicious. The edamame are freshly boiled (hot) with salt. As I went many other places that they cooked the edamame ahead, and have put them in the fridge. They didn’t know that edamane is supposed to eat in HOT. For baked dried fugu, this dish is a bit small and expensive ($90), but I thought it’s worth. Very thin slices with perfect cooking time that have keep the fugu juicy and tighten. We like it. For the salad, just a normal dish with many many cod roe. When the last person finally show up, we ordered more food. My friend recommend to order the 5 dishes set (choose for around 20 dishes) and cost for only $350. Some expensive dishes like beef pot ($110), veggie & seafood pot ($110), fish head pot ($190) are in the list too…end up we pick boiled clams in sake (org. price $90), seaweed & tofu salad (org.$50), pan fried saba (org. around $60), beef pot, and the last one is sth chopped tuna with an quail egg with dried seaweed that for us to wrap (this dish my friend highly recommended). Besides, we ordered a medium size of assorted sashimi ($380). All are good. Sashimi are very fresh. They have three slices of Sake, Toro, Hamachi, Hotate (scallop), Hirame, and also cod (big kind), and three Amaebi . The waitress was very attentive that to serve the cold dish first. End up, we are the last table to leave the restaurant. We started at 730pm, and leave at 11pm (they closed already). They don’t show any bad face, and never force us to pay the bill first. The waitress just quietly clean up, and set up tables for the next day. We feel a bit bad that we have them to wait for us to finish the Sake. Haha~ what a wonderful chit chat night with my buddies~ for sure will go there again. I want to try out their natto maki as my friends don’t let me order. Jolie (Non-member) | A friend invited me to June last Friday for Omakasen. At first I thought it would be a classy restaurant but it turns out to be pretty local - Japanese local. Since our whole purpose was to eat Omakasen we sat down and ask the waitress to bring us whatever's best that night. She mentioned a bunch of fish names, we agreed, and the dinner started. It started with a chicken appetizer in sesame sauce and cucumber, and then comes the fish. Loads of different variation, with 3 different sauces for different species. The fish is really fresh and fat, one of the best I've tried. Then comes the sushi, which is super good. Right texture/temperature of rice with delicious fish and uni! Then comes udon which is very nice too. We ordered 3 bottles of sake, and had deep fried crabs (which were originally crawling around a nice fish tank) as well as 雞泡魚乾to go with the sake. Ended the dinner with sesame and pineapple icecream. It's a very satisfied meal Spending per head: Approximately HKD1400

I used to work nearby and went there quite a number of times. A pretty solid Japanese restaurant - pretty all rounded too. Sushi is great. Not very pricey. However, there are some serious competition around. Anyway, a safe choice if you want a good Japanese meal. Other Ratings: Taste 3 | Environment 3 | Service 3 | Hygiene 3 | Value for Money 3

yummy (Non-member) | over $1000 for 2 persons. We had 300ml sake ($150), tempura, 6 slices sashimi ( scallop & hamachi), 2 sushi ( california & tuna), clams in sake, grilled pork. The prawn (tempura )was not fresh, the other food also not fresh. Very expensive for what they offer. We will not go back again.
