I was invited by my best friend to try a Italian restaurant in isquare. I guess I will go to 3/F, but we arrived at 29/F. When we got to be seated. I was greeted and surprised by the spectacular harbour view of HK. That was very impressed. The waitress unfolded the napkin and the waiter was presented the menu to us and asked for any drink. We ordered Paradiso sparkling water, it served with a piece of lime, it was sweet.

The menu design was simple and neat. We were given a Bread basket to start and we had Focaccia, Rye bread and Wheat roll. They accompany the bread with white beans sauce, but it was bland. My friend requested to have olive oil and vinegar. The waiter served over our bread plate, very efficient and smart.

I was notice the decor was simplistic and cool. Very spacious between tables. The lighting was dim with candle, give a intimate setting. Music and entertainment was provided by non-local singers. The perfect spot for a special occasion.

The restaurant offerd Main Menu and Set Menu for our choice, 3-courses set meal was around $450. But after look into this, my friend would like to ordered from a la carte. While we were discussed the menu, a waiter came and introduced the Daily Special Menu with a small blackboard. He was knowledgeable and brilliant.

For the Antipasti, we ordered a Caesar Salad with ham. The Salad was freshly mixed. The sauce didn't have the taste of anchioves. I forgot to ask what was sauce we have. A thin slice of crispy Pama ham and croutons was fine. The other we have Assorted Italian Platter, Italian sausage, Pama ham with melon, Smoked salmon with capers and onion, Parmesan Cheese with Cracker. Frittata were cut into small wedges. All was bit-sized and it was good for share.

We ordered the Main Course and Dessert from the Daily Special Menu. Seafood Risotto have Scallop, Mussels and Prawns. The Arborio rice cooked al dente and flavorful. Deep-fried Portabella Mushroom as our Side Dish was perfectly deep-fried, well sliced, soft inside but not oily. My friend was suggested a glass of white wine to complete the experience. I forgot the name but it was easy drinking and it goes well with our dishes.

Deep-fried ice-cream with freshly made strawberry sauce for our Dessert. It was Flambe at our table by the Manageress. It was taste good and a very happy ending.

The overall food taste fine but not memorable. The pacing was good as we are in Fine Dining Restaurant. The Server was professional and attentive. The meal experience was highly satisfied and enjoyable. Of course the price was slightly high but reasonable at this prime location. The only problem is Pest Control should be encounter. I would like to come back some day for lunch time and enjoy the sunlight with this harbour view.

At 7, we were seated at a nice sofa seat with the harbour view - don't get your hopes up this restaurant might have some nasty surprises in store for you, as it did for us.

Food was ok, but the focus of this review is on its hygiene. Not trying to allege ANYTHING, and JUST STATING THE FACTS OF WHAT WE SAW, we would highly recommend the restaurant employ some pest control service. More frequently than normal.

In short we had the company of not one - which would have been still tolerable - but TWO non human living beings, on the table AND on the sofa right next to us. Understandably our impression of this restaurant, with its eager waiters and more-than-moderately priced menu, immediately took a double turn. We have two waiters as witness, if anyone wonders about the truth of this review.

For the bravehearted, this is a can-try. Though we won't be going again anytime soon....they didn't even give us a discount

By the way, this wouldn't exactly fit in the fine-dining category, but the view was indeed great (though there are many other restaurants in this building with the same view really).

Oh and don't expect big portions.

u know what.. I have never though about i will turn up in Sorriso one day.
The reason(s) why: because of my job, I do reservation for guest, every single time I call them, I can get a table 9 out of 10, within that out of 8 times I can get a window seat arranged, which is good for my me while working. However which means this restaurant just not popular as sabatini or al molo or even spasso.

Anyway that day me and my girls fd were thinking so hard where could we go without reservation and of coz a nice restaurant, my fd brought up Sorriso and since I have nothing better than that... therefore here we are!

Firstly get into restaurant, umbrella was taking care of and window seat was arranged. which is good!

second, the server Alex came over introduce himself as well as the special menu, which can tell he knows what he is talking, he knows how to sell the dishes, not pushing you gave you enough space.

We order what we want and here's the bread came. a lightly disappointed here, since we have three of us. and so obviously the bread is for two... cant u just put one or two small slices, that would just make me feel better.

we got 3 entree 1 main and 3 dessert for sharing

entree:
oyster, cant remember where they from, but all really fresh and creamy, which i Love it!!!

salmon three way, which have smoked salmon, salmon mixed with salad sauce, and salmon-stuffed egg. all were good, smoked salmon lightly surprise me, the taste is just right not too salty.

Foie gras w/ apple sauce, this one is amazing! Foie gras were pan fried, golden, crispy outside. Oh and have it with the apple sauce! thats the highlight of the night!

Main:
Risotto in lobster and lobster sauce (obviously I cant remember the name LOL)
I personally love risotto. they do it really good here, the texture is good.

P.S. I like those restaurant will replace a warm/hot plate for main, and we have it in Sorriso

Dessert:
warm chocolate cake, apple crumble, passion fruit souffle
u know 女人食dessert always 有第二個胃.!!!! 更何況我地係三個女人...
however 都係覺得佢地既dessert 有少少失色....choco cake 焗得唔夠耐.. souffle 唔夠sweet... apple crumble 太多果肉...
and little remarks, u can skip the coffee. but still happy that they serve raw sugar!

we booked a table near the window. the victoria harbour seaview is cool!! the lighting was a bit dark with candles on every table. quite a romantic setting.

we ordered a set dinner + 2 other appetiters

appetiters:
pan seared scallops with mashed potato --
the scallops were fresh and sweet and tender, though it's just warm not hot. i didn't try the potato, but my partner said the taste of sauce was a bit weird.

salmon 三食 ---
including smoked salmon, salmon mixed with salad sauce, and salmon-stuffed egg. all were good, not as salty as those offered by other restaurants.

clam in white wine sauce --
hte clams are big, the taste was sweet. good.

main course:
pan-fried sea bass -- the fish was tender and succulent. nice!
pasta in meat sauce --- i didn't try it. my partner said it's ok.

dessert:
apple tart --- not too sweet and not too sour. quite nice!

the environment there was quiet . perhaps they dun have many customers during weekdays ? anyway. hahahah

service was good and the staff were attentive. eg. my partner was late, and i placed order 1st. they said they would wait till my partner arrived. and when there was something left on the plate. they asked if the dishes got any problem. overall speaking, i'm happy with their service.

I don't like the clumsy design of iSquare, as one would easily get lost in this maze of elevators, but indeed there are many nice restaurants housed in this building, such as this one which I am going to introduce --- Sorriso.

Location

It's located on the 29th floor on a 31-storey building. There is another Chinese restaurant locating on the same level but shares a different view. Sorriso has a better view from Causeway bay on the island side all the way to the ICC on the right. Today luckily there is nice weather. My dining mate told me her experience in a restaurant in ICC. She said the location was really too high that "dwarf" the everything, but the height of iSquare is just right to see the lines of buildings and peak behind them. The simple design of the restaurant also goes very well with the scene outside whilst not down-grading the classy interior as a fine dining place.

Food

The menu offers buffet first course and dessert, and a chosen dish of main course ranging from soup, pizza, Italian pasta, Italian rice, beef to pork.

Buffet Appetizer

Appetizer includes fresh salad which is really nice and having a wide choice of salad dressing. Cold dishes such as salmon and cold cut are offered. I especially love the marinated cherry tomatoes.

Main Course

I have ordered TUNA WITH OLIVE PASTE. The tuna was a bit overcooked and appeared to be too dry. The bed of artichoke and chorizo is very good but the chorizo seemed not strong enough to alleviate the taste of the tuna. Giving it a sauce would also be a good match. Hope it will improve next time.

My friend has chosen fried pork which she think it's rare to find restaurant offering pork on the menu. The comment was overall positive, yet again too dry. The waiter was very smart that he brought us a small plate of thousand island sauce to go with the pork. Points added for the attentive service!!

Dessert

Dessert was nice. Creme brulee was up to expectation. Mango mousse and chocolate mousse were very nice too. Fresh fruit was offered as well.

Service

Very attentive service. We found the napkins were folded and placed on the table neatly every time when we returned to the table after taking food from the buffet table. All requests were handled promptly. Big applause!!

Conclusion

Nice food at reasonable price with spectacular harbour view. Excellent services. Recommended with no reservation!!

At the first glance, I thought the curve was a fish. In Italian, Sorriso meant "". If you have zero imagination, my friend, that's a smile. We were dazzled by the seaview, but the food was far from "impressive". The following is my own, honest and sincere opinion. My friend and I failed to secure the "buy one get one free" deal at this newly opened restaurant, but I reckon it was reasonably priced for an Italian restaurant with an open view of our grand Victoria Harbour. This is my virgin commentary, please excuse the lack of details, just for this post ;)

For those who don't have the time to read my bullshit, in a nutshell, I ordered a $178 set lunch, starring pigeon with a balsamic flavoured sauce. The main course and appetizers were rubbish, but the rest, which consists of a LIVE pasta, dessert and hot chocolate, was bueno.
The other appetizers were normal, this one is the "tomato of my eye". But it only LOOKS pretty. It's stuffed with a sauce-less combination of garlic and unseasoned shrimps, left in some tomato juice. It's quite refreshing, but not my tomato. I reckon the chef should really utilize the cooked flavours of tomatoes.This was the star - LIVE Pasta, excuse my love for the title. You get a wide selection of seafood - shrimps, mussels, clams, squid and salmon. I'd appreciate it if they can offer more sauces, but I guess the basic tomato and white sauce is sufficient. I must say that they have disappointingly tight selection of pasta. Only spaghetti and penne was available. My favourite tagliatelle was nowhere to be seen > ).
 I don't exactly remember its name, but I guess it's something like blueberry balsamic pigeon
The cross section - looked like it was bleeding haha. I thought it was slightly overcooked, or probably they just don't know the best way to cook it. I didn't find the juicy-ness in Chinese BBQ pigeons that I expected. The sauce was a little dominated by the balsamic vinegar, but I thought it still made a perfect couple with the red meat.
Just wanted to post a picture of my hot chocolate.My friend's cappuccino. As poor graduates - I took a sip. I thought it was pretty good even without sugar.

Personally I prefer and enjoy Italian cuisine. Sorriso, this new Italian restaurant, is easy to find in Tsimshatsui.

This is the second time my friend and I have lunch here today. The first visit was during its soft opening and promotion period when the customers were offered great discount. It was practically packed full then and required booking weeks ahead.

The promotion is now over and I love this restaurant even more today.

The atmosphere of Sorriso is quiet , bright and low key. Its décor is not loud. It is simple but very pleasant. The fantastic view of the Victoria Harbour from the restaurant is magnifique.

The set lunch menu includes Buffet of Appetitizers & dessert; 5 different choices of main course, and coffee or Tea.

There was great variety of choice in the salad bar. Amongst others I also chose some the fresh long green bean. I was told that it was imported from Kenya, Africa. It tasted so fresh and crispy. Highly recommended! Don’t miss it. Today I had Pan Fried Sea Bass and Soave Jus as my main course. It was served at very appropriate temperature. Fish is tender and juicy and the sauce yummy. On the whole, the quality of food was of very high standard and extremely delicious.

Throughout, the manager and the servers were friendly and polite. They went out of their way to ensure us a good visit. The service was efficient too.

The bill for 2 of us was HK$336.60 including 10% service charge . I considered we got more than our money’s worth.

The experience of this visit is indeed pleasant and enjoyable. I now know why it was packed full during the soft opening. In my opinion, Sorriso is even more worth recommending now that you can enjoy your food at leisure in the tranquil atmosphere. I’ll certainly come again and try out the dinner.

Um nothing special, foie gras 過細，risotto Bruno 塊金'bok'雖然靚，但係對個味道有幫助嘛？Sirloin, just some ordinary sirloin that u could get from ANY western restaurant. Seabass... Um... Again, nth special. The tiramiau was nice but too little (but then ig was part if a seg dinner,,wat could I expect!?!) overall, I will not come again...., and I personally thInkbthat with the same price, I could have gone to other restaurants with better service n food. By the way, k had to pour the wine myself.cuz no one noticed that my glass was emptied already ... @@ wat da heck !?! I expect more when I'm paying $800 per head......-_-""

Sorriso is a newly opened Italian restaurant located on one of the top floors on iSquare, headed by an Italian Chef Bruno Nicolino.

I was honoured to be invited to a tasting session held by OpenRice.

When I walked in the restaurant, I was greeted by a magnicient night view of Hong Kong.

We were given some bread to start of with, which was made by Sorriso, there was some sauce to accompany the bread .

The sauce that comes with the bread is different everyday, today's sauce was green made with pesto and basil.
It had the appearance of Mint Sauce, but tasted fragrant with some sweetness to it.
The pesto however was well balanced and did not over power the other flavours in the sauce which made it perfect as a sauce for bread.
The bread was fresh and soft too.

They previously made a sauce with beans which sounds good too, I wonder if it tastes like hommous.

Burrata Mozzarella and Tomato Sherbet
水牛芝士配番茄雪芭 $148
Next on was the Burrata, since I am British, I assumed the sherbet was going to be a fizzy powder sweet that you use licquorice to dip as kids. But Sherbet is the American word for the British Sorbet.
Anyway I have always loved Burrata because of its creamy texture and the creamy runny centre inside.
It is usually paired with freshly sliced tomatoes however here it is served with tomato sorbet on top.
I really liked this concept because I can feel the texture of burrata with a hint of tomato.
If it was paired with fresh tomato I would have probably eaten them separately because the texture of the tomato is different from the burrata and when you are chewing the tomato it is distracting.
This appetizer was great because I was able to taste the creaminess and texture of the burrata infused with hints of tomato.
The sorbet was nicely done, not too sweet or tangy, and it gave the burrata a cool sensation.
The texture of the burrata was amazing, it was a bit like the egg whites of poached eggs but firmer with creamy cheese oozing out in your mouth.

Tartar di Manzo:
Osceitra Caviar, Beef Tartar, Potato Puree and Porcini Mushroom Jus
It was the first time I tried Beef Tartar and I loved it, especially with porcini mushroom juice at the bottom and the pureed potato on top.
The chef here really has the skill of pairing the right textures together!
The smoothness of the potato puree and beef tartar was great together, yet it wouldn't be too bland because it was flavoured by the big pearls of caviar and porcini juice!

Thin Sliced Veal Medallion and Tuna Sauce
薄切牛仔肉配吞拿魚汁$128
This is a well-known Italian cold appetizer, sliced veal covered with a creamy, mayonnaise-like sauce that has been flavored with tuna.
Tuna fish is puréed in a food processor with a some kind of mayonnaise which could be made of vegetable or olive oil and a variety of seasonings including anchovies, egg yolks, cayenne pepper, and lemon juice.
When it was presented, it was very summery and colourful, you could see the tuna sauce drizzled on the thinly sliced light pink veal topped with apricots, olives and their special green sauce. There was some condiments sprinkled on the plate as well, not sure if it was salt or sugar but it made the presentation really nice.
The tuna sauce was so velvety and creamy but you could still taste the fine tuna fibres in it.
The veal was really tender and melted in your mouth along with the tuna sauce, I would have thought I was just eating Tuna if I was blindfolded. An interesting pairing of fish and red meat, but saying that tuna is darker than most fishes.

Salmon and Zucchini Soup
三文魚zucchini瓜湯 $78
This was the first time I have had zucchini soup, it was jade in colour with cheese on top.
[zucchini are known as courgettes in the UK]
The cheese was made in a special way that it was like foam. The soup's texture was like thin pureed zucchini with pieces of salmon in it.
Overall the taste was light and appropriate and the piece of salmon was tender and wholesome, not broken up pieces of salmon.

This was a rich soup which I really liked, it had prawns, clams and mussels. It tasted like lobster bisque but not as thick.
The seafood in the soup was fresh too.

Penne and Spicy Tomato Olive Oil Sauce
長通粉配辣番茄汁 $118
Although it was the spiciest penne I have ever tasted, it was the best, their chili had been soaked in Olive oil so during the cooking process it gave out more flavour.
The penne was al-dente and the sauce was rich.

Risotto, Italian Porcini Mushroom and Gold Leaf
金箔意大利磨菇飯 $228
The gold leaf was so delicate and thin you could see it fluttering in the air!
The sauce for the risotto was so light yet it was packed with porchini aroma that the grains of rice were amazing to eat.
The grains of rice were individual and al dente and it was so delicious with the pieces of porcini mushrooms.
Surrounding the risotto was some potato puree too.

Margherita Pizza, Thin Sliced Raw Beef and Rocket
生牛肉披薩 $188
The pizza's here are really good, because the Chef does a light superthin pizza base.
The raw beef and rocket was good together. The rocket lettuce on this pizza was really tender it didnt have that bitter taste.

Same as the previous pizza, the base was thin and excellent, there was lots of juicy porcini mushrooms and the truffle oil was strong, so I really enjoyed it. Funghi heaven!

Chocolate Souffle and Vanilla Ice Cream:
朱古力梳乎里 $68When this arrived, you could smell the chocolate.
There was dessicated coconut on top which turned crispy after it had been baked, I really liked it because the coconut taste made it different instead of just plain chocolate.
There were pieces of melted chocolate in it too.
With the souffle there was a scoop of ice-cream to go with it as well.

The cocoa powder on the tiramisu was extremely velvety and fine and the rest was thick and creamy.

杏仁沙巴翁 $68
This was my favourite as well as the souffle. Zabaglione is a dessert made with egg yolks, sugar, a sweet wine that has been whipped to incorporate a large amount of air. For this dessert it was flavoured with Almond, and it was so foamy and light, I loved it because the texture was runnier than meringue, just like a sauce. At the bottom of the glass there was lots of strawberries and blueberries.
I loved the concoction of berries and sugary sweet foamy zabaglione.
I have tried it two times before, and it tastes the best here! One place paired it with the wrong fruits such as melons and watermelons and it tasted like frothy gamey milk and the other place it was just a scoop of whipped cream!

Overall, all the dishes I tried were wonderful, on my next visit I am going to try the following dishes too.

When I was leaving the restaurant, the roses on the corner were really pretty I had to take a picture.
I am not a person that likes flowers but I really liked the roses submerged in the water.
