I went here for lunch on a Saturday, at around 12:30pm. Literally no-one besides me and my wife were in the restaurant when we arrived, and only two other couples showed up during, so if you want to guarantee yourself a space, I highly recommend the weekend.

We ordered two sandwiches and split them: the prime rib sandwich and the chicken sandwich. The food took a while to arrive, maybe 10-15 minutes, even though as I say no-one else was there.

Prime rib sandwich: mostly meat, we also ordered fried onions on it (jalapenos are an option, but not if you're splitting with someone who doesn't want them!) The prime rib is amazingly tender, the bread is delicious, and when both are soaked in the garlicky "jus" it's heavenly. Straight up A+

Chicken sandwich: not on the same astral plane as the prime rib, but at least on the same delicious bread. The chicken is reasonably tender and not overly dry-- and the mayonnaise helped too. Overall it was a solid effort, but something was lacking. Not as "robust" as the best chicken sandwiches I've had? Sorry if that's obscure. A-

Fries: I liked the fries-- they were string fries, a McDonald's shape but crispier and less soggy with grease. They seemed to be seasoned with herbs, but the flavors didn't really show through. Fatter steak fries might have been better as an accompaniment-- I tried, but these ones didn't really soak up enough "jus" when dipping. A-

Overall, food-experience-wise, I was a big fan of Westwood Carvery. But it's not a cheap place, and somewhat egregiously so. I had a can of coke with lunch, and it was $30. That's the price of 5 cokes at the 7-11, and it's just silly. I know everyone wants to make money, but maybe there'd be more than 2 people in the restaurant at lunch time on the weekend if they only doubled or tripled the price of common beverages. I'll admit that I won't be coming back with any frequency, largely because of the silly mark-ups.

Still, the food gets an A.

As read on Openrice mostly positive recommendation, I reserved for a table for two a night in advance. When we arrived, the waitress was nice to show us the table. We were assigned to eat aside the window inside. It was a bit limited spaced and noisy, but overall the atmosphere is still nice for ribs and pasta. I must show my appreciation to the waitress that she was really helpful explaining the chief's choice and different dishes for us. Giving us some suggestions but we didn't feel her pushing. We finally ordered the grilled vegetable salad($98), beef barley vegetable soup($58) and a regular cut prime rib with mashed potato($288). And the homemade lemonade($68) for drinks. The food overall are above standard, quite nice indeed. Highly recommended the prime rib. So juicy and tender, together with the special made mustard, I feel like it was the best rib I ever tried in this price. Highly recommended. The soup was nice too, but not exceptionally great. The grilled salad was a bit oily, which taste okay. The lemonade was nice if you can stand its sourness.

I would definitely come again. Nice experience here!!!

The prime rib of this place is well documented and well known. I have been to this restaurant at least a dozen times so can say with some authority that the prime rib is not the only dish to try in this place.

Consider the various specials of the day they have on the blackboard, the variation is impressive and quality also equally high quality. Try the pasta, the dessert, the seafood on offer.

I do like the truffle pasta, and the beef barley soup, and french fries these might seem trivial but in my view are already much better than the equivalent in other places.

The Prime rib? Goes without saying this is a must eat but for those who cant stomach that much meat, the pasta and seafood are the ones to go for.

The service also has actually gotten better and the current staff there seem to place a lot of emphasis on meeting all of customers reasonable requests. You get service with a smile, with knowledge, staff know when to come in and ask you if you need more, or just leave you alone. That is why this is not only a good place to eat in twos, but also why I always see groups of people together enjoying a bottle of wine or two and eating and sharing laughs together. I have discussed with my friends who have been here and agree the service quality is similar to that of a five star hotel in some regards and that is saying something for a small specialist restaurant such as this.

It can get noisy but the atmosphere I think for a dinner is appropriate and adds to the vibe.

The wine list is varied and impressive with a variety of australian, californian, and french.

Overall very good food very good service and highly recommended. A booking is essential during peak lunch and evenings. I suggest you see for yourself. Expect to pay HKD300 to 500 per head (if you go for the prime rib).

Went with my wife and another couple for dinner last Friday night.

I ordered the 12oz Prime rib medium rare, and it came perfectly cooked.. This has to be one of the best prime ribs I've had in Hong Kong. Highly recommended. My wife ordered the baby back ribs and it was also very good. Great value for money as not only was the food good, there was plenty of it. We were all pretty stuffed after the main course that we couldn't order dessert. It was also pretty reasonable as the cost, with a shared appetizer and a bottle of wine, was about $450 per person.. Will definitely return for another visit soon.

My 1st visit to Westwood Carvery was a couple of months ago, the shop is definitely getting more attention and rightfully so.

This time we visited in a group of 8 for a frd's farewell party. The shop is a small little restaurant with a cozy environment, most diners were enjoying their small talks, and I hope we didn't create too much noise for the rest

We have decided to pick this as a farewell treat to our buddy, so obviously my last impression was good enough for me to revisit again. And of coz, it turned out to be a perfect choice!

Service was always very personal and polite, from taking reservation to walking us thru the menu. To start off, we had Nachos and Calamari as our starters, portion was fair, enough to be shared by the party.Based on my personal recommendation, everyone ordered Pasta Carbonara and Prime ribs for entree, complimentary with sauteed mushroom Luckily, the food was spot on, everyone enjoyed their dishes.

The prime rib was an all-time-fav for the guys - authentic and juicy, while my taste buds said the creamy carbonara was extremely satisfying Perhaps I am too much of a mushroom-lover, this has gotta to be one of the best sauteed I've seen, very rustic and portion was generous. (must not forget to ask for the grill option next time!)Some critics said it's a bit over-priced, but with two bottles of wine, main course for each plus some sides, I'd say $375pp is quite reasonable. It's even more worth it when you compare this to other main franchises. This little shop deserves more publicity and I am extremely hopeful that this will get expanded in the near future.

Around noon, before the crazy peak hour in Central and wanna random pick for something I haven't tried in LKF area. SUpposed I wanna try a restaurant invest by a friend's friend somewhere around, but couldn't find it; and chose this one.

Very small with around 20 seats, looked fully booked but the waitress told me most of them will arrive around 1pm, so it's fine for me. Interior is simply comfortable, with a huge wooden wines holder, which looks cool. One waiter and one waitress, whom are Filipino plus a Westerner as Manager.

Menu is fine to have set lunch of 3 choices, good enough in such a small restaurant. Beef sandwich, pasta and seafood as main courses, plus soup/salad, drink; plus $25 can have dessert as well.

I picked the Tomato soup, Risotto with crabmeat and squid, coffee.

Tomato soup is good
Rosotto, the rice is nicely cooked, however, crabmeat tastes like canned food and very little quantity only
Coffee, not bad and served with warm milk, appreciated this.

I understand that restaurants located in LKF area have to bear higher cost and this is to be shared by customers. However, so-called premier location is really not as nice as described, facing the back of old building, seeing those ugly and rusted pipes, noise and polluted air from big trucks and vans...

For the portion and quality of food, I think 40% off is reasonable, the rest is just over-charged by the name of the location.

Went here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is quite small, so I would suggest making a reservation ahead of time to ensure a table. As a note, they close between 3pm-6pm for a break.

I had read here before that their Prime Rib Sandwich was something that needed to be tried, and that is exactly what I did. They offer a lunch set for $98, which includes a soup, main dish, and drink (coffee/tea/fresh lemonade). You can add a dessert to the set for $20.

The Prime Rib Sandwich in the lunch set comes in their 'regular' portion size. There is a 'Westwood' size option for an added $20. It also comes with a side of fries, au jus and an apple. You can get horseradish at no additional charge, just ask. I was particularly delighted to see the apple, because who really does that nowadays? The prime rib was moist and tender, and the portions of everything was just right.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. I had my water glass filled a number of times after they noticed that it was under the halfway mark. They charge a 10% service charge, but it's something I would gladly pay.

Definitely deserves another visit!

It's always a headache when you have to go lunch in Central area. Luckily today my girl friend suggested this restaurant and I get a chance to try their famous prime rib sandwich. We have ordered the lunch set which have prime rib sandwich or pasta to choose from. When we ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich which is Regular size, the server told us the size of the sandwich is small and even used his hand to describe the size for us. Then he asked whether we would like to add $ 20 for a Westwood Size sandwich.... Hmhm.. by just looking at his described size like an apple, of cuz we have added the extra but when the regular size of sandwich reach my neighbour's table. I think we have just been mis-leading by his "apple size" portion and my advice is Girl will be good for the regular size order, the westwood size will be too much for 1 or maybe can share among two!! They used Ciabatta bread for their sandwich. Love their freshly cooked fries and the Au Jus sauce to match with. My pick is Spaghetti Arrabiata which have Bacon, Tomato & Chili with Tomato Sauce. Love their fresh tomato sauce which is rich and the texture of the spaghetti is just well cooked!! They have offered Frenshly Made Lemonade for drinks which is perfect for a meal. We have spend a lovely lunch time in here while the outside has a long queue of people who is thirsty for a Ramen Noodles.. Hahahah a

We heard about this restaurant and decided to give it a try on 1 Nov (Mon). The boss and the staff were friendly, attentive and accommodating. I loved the prime rib (mega cut, medium) and the potato mesh – the former was tender, juicy and delicious and the latter was smooth and yummy. My better half enjoyed the mushroom spaghetti very much – the sauce was thick and rich in taste. We will revisit the place with our friends.

Sandwiches and Steak are both my all time favorite foods. So when I saw that they have a prime rib sandwich here I just had to try it and I was not disappointed! We came here for lunch and ordered 2 set lunches which included:

Beef Barley Soup and Mushroom Soup
Both were pretty standard and good. The beef barley soup was yummier than the mushroom tho.

Prime Rib Sandwich (with crispy onions)
The stack of prime rib was perfectly pink and juicy through and through! You're supposed to dip the sandwich in the horseradish and the jus before you take a bite. The beef jus has really concentrated beef flavors and it really moistens the ciabatta while the horseradish just gives it that extra kick and whole combo with the juicy prime rib is just pure meat juice goodness! I'm craving for one right now!!! I think the sandwich would be made perfect if they could warm or slightly toast the ciabatta and trim off some of the excess fat on the prime rib. The fries were good, light and crispy on the outside but still moist on the inside.

Sicilian Lasagna
A really cheesy lasagna with olives and veggies. I liked this cuz the tomato sauce was thick and flavorful and the pasta was just right, not too soggy or crispy, which was nice.

Caramel Chocolate Chip Ice cream with Brownies
We were really full by the time desserts arrived but we just couldn't resist! The ice cream was good with caramel swirls and chocolate chips in the chocolate ice cream (no idea which brand they use but i suspect it could be movenpick?) and there were lots of brownies on the bottom. The brownies were average and slightly too sweet.

The place is TEENY so I think It'd be better for lunch cuz you can actually participate in the next table's conversation if you wanted to. I'll definitely be back for the prime rib sandwich and I'd like to try the Carvery Salad.
