I am writing this review because some foreign friends told me the foods there is very delicious, one even said it's the best meal he had during his 6 month exchange program  in China.  For me I don't find it especially attractive, but I do agree 1-3 of the dim sums there are much better than other restaurants. It's Michelin recommended after, and it is actually not a traditional Chinese restaurant we can see every where.  Tim Hou Wan ------to literally translate...

Timhowan has 4 famous dishes 四大天王 - crispy char siew pao 脆皮叉烧包, pig liver siew mai, waxed meat pan-fried carrot cake腊味香煎萝卜糕, & a mala cake马拉糕, as in their paper placemats above. I liked the 脆皮叉烧包 crispy char siew bun best! – fillings were that of a great charsiew pao & the crispy skin was unique. I also liked the pig liver siew mai (unfortunately I did not take a picture). It was good, but I guess somewhat less unique as many dimsum places like Star of C...

Compared to the original store in Mongkok, the Shamshuipo branch of Tim Ho Wan is significantly larger, although not as conveniently located (about a 10 min walk from either Prince Edward or Shamshuipo MTR). The seating isn't particularly spacious, but no more cramped than traditional HK restaurants. There's no decor to speak of and the lighting is oddly dim. The lines are still there, but arriving at 12:45pm on a Saturday, the 2 of us were seated within 20 min (co...

Environment: The location is not really accessible and convenient. After arrival, it takes more than 15 minutes waiting at the tiny and packed lobby before getting inside the restaurant. The overall setting inside is traditional except the blue, crystal-like light that is inconsistent with the décor.Service Table setting is quite efficient once the customers arrive. Yet, the insufficient staff reduces attention to and interaction with guests that disappoint them a lot. The staff...

After arriving at the front door at 10:25AM, we were seated in less than 5 minutes. Contrasted with the Mong Kok branch where the wait was over 30 minutes at the same time, this is a huge difference. The Sham Shui Po branch has much more seating and is a much larger restaurant. As other reviewers have noted, the service is a bit harried and a bit disorganized, and sharing tables is the norm for small parties. However, I consider this to be a standard part of the ambiance at...

first, lets talk about the wait, unless you prepare to wait with an empty stomach, this is the place to be, otherwise, do try the joint few store away or macD down the road. the wait is varies, depend how many people you have, but i do think you get your table faster when you just go there with another person, which means a table of 2 is faster. then lets talk about the food, it is good for that value of money, dim sum is dim sum, as long as they are served in hot bamboo container, they taste...

The line-up was very reasonable: we arrived around 14:30 and waited for 17 minutes only. Service was quite efficient, first order arrived in 10 minutes. Dim Sum highlights: - steamed fish & turnip dumplings were refreshing, dumpling skin was thin and chewy, I liked it! - liver rice rolls 黃沙豬潤腸 were not bad, but I've had better in Tsuen Wan (品茗) - roasted pork buns 酥皮焗叉燒包 were excellent. Normally I don't like to eat port but we (2 people only)...

Been there yesterday which is a Sunday, Tried to reserve a table last Tuesday via phone but the staff told me that booking is only available from Monday to Friday, and you have to walk in and queue during weekend. He also advised that I should not have to wait long for a table shocked so ok, trust them, give them a try. A total of us 7 adults + a baby arrived the door at 11:30 am and start waiting for the table. And not until 12:45 pm we can be served to sit at a table which for...

Date dined: 2010 年 7月 3 日 Food: Pan fried radish (煎臘味籮白糕) baked roast pork bun (酥皮焗叉燒包) Dumpling (潮州粉果) Glutinous Rice wrapped in Lotus leaves (糯米雞) Roast pork Cheung fun (叉燒腸粉) Taste: The list of the menu is the same. Not too many choices, they have kept it quite simplified. And kept it identitical to the first branch in Mongkok only to be fair. First came the Roast pork Cheung fun 叉...

much better than the mongkok location, in terms of comfort, space, and queue. more spacious, lots of seats, air-conditioned, and i don't have to wait long -- perhaps because i intentionally avoid the rush crowd and be there before 17:45 ^^ i have the same opinion otherwise as the mongkok location; the food is great for its value, very fresh with good ingredients. no problems with service, as they leave the jug of tea on the table... very efficient. lol
