We have been meaning to try Barista Jam for a while as part of the neverending quest for great coffee in HK.  They served us a pretty good version. As Barista Jam is closed on Sundays (so strange HK - doesn't anyone want coffee on Sunday???), this was our second attempt at a visit.  We ordered two small lattes and sat down at a large communal table.   The price was competitive at $33; a little cheaper than almost all of their competition.  The small frothy ...

After eating lunch nearby, I came to this place with my sister since we heard about the amazing earl grey creme brûlée.  smile  Environment+ cleanliness: My first impression was that it was neat and clean. We managed to find a table for two right by the stairs, which was where they put the magazines. The simple decor of the cafe gave it a rustic but warm vibe. With some nice Jazz playing in the background, it was a relaxing afternoon for me and my sister to enjoy some coffee...

It was 5, an hour before they closed. I and my husband went up to the 1st floor to get 4 seats cos my mom and dad were coming, and there werent 4 seats downstairs. The fat guy asked us to sit on the ground floor cos the 1st floor was closed. My husband said we had 4 persons. That fat guy answered, "Sorry then, we have no seat!" huffy Well, so we went down, though we could only find 2 seats and didnt understand why he only asked us but not the others on ...

One of the first stops for coffee connoisseurs in HK is Barista Jam, a small coffee shop on Jervois Street, just off a bustling thoroughfare in Sheung Wan. As soon as you enter Barista Jam, you will notice that this place is meant for some serious business, with an impressive La Marzocco espresso machine working at full speed and many hip coffee geeks gliding in and out of the cafe. I am no coffee expert, but the coffee shop's sense of artistry was rubbing off on me ...

On a Sunday afternoon, the upper floor of the 2-storey café was closed. When we entered, the place was almost full with some 8 diners. i'm the sort of person who needs to spend some time alone every now and then. barista jam provides it, coupled with good food and my favourite cappuccino in town. * * * * * * not my first time to the place. arrived at sheung wan at around noon. (thought the resto blends in really well with the stores around from the outside - see for yourself! *chuckle*) walked in, easily found a spot on the ground floor (probably cos it was not yet lunchtime for offices around), put do...

After a ten-minute-walk from Shun Tak Centre, we arrived at this coxy cafe. Food There were 5 choices of cakes available, and we tried 4 of them. Each was $34, with a $10 deduction for every purchase of drink. Earl Grey Creme Brulee Highly recommended! Its appearance was not attractive to me- but its name was. And it did not disappoint me- it tasted better than it looked and it was awesome! It was a moist sponge cake with earl grey cream on top....

After all the buzz online, my wife and I decided to give this cafe a try. Our plans were for a perfect afternoon with good coffee, cozy ambiance. And a few desserts... Well that lasted all of 2 minutes, reason being the place was cozy but the oil and grease smells from the counter took over the cafe! I didn't understand how folks can stay as it seems you're breathing from the end of a kitchen exhaust the whole time! I thought it was just me but a few customers from the takeout li...

Barista Jam is a Café located in Sheung Wan. You will definitely attracted to its design, it’s modern, looks different from the general Sheung Wan. The layout inside is not bad either, very warm and welcoming atmosphere! Point to take; once you see them how they cook, you will have no expectation on food. A stove that has no fire and a grill that does not has the sizzling effect. You must be joking. Cuisine: European Food rating: 3/10* Service: 4/10 Ambianc...

As a coffee fanatic for years, it’s suffocatingly hard to live on a day without a cup of quality coffee. mad Fortunately, plenty of authentic European- / Australian- style coffee shops popped out in recent years and Barista Jam is definitely one of my favorite spots for a relaxing moment or to grab a nice cappuccino to go. lol Location Located towards the far end of Jervois Street, near the Sheung Wan market, Barista Jam is popular than everyone expec...
