I am so disappointed at this place I had gone so much as opening a openrice account to say something about it.

I can understand the charm of this place.. the allure of western bakery with all the scones and waffles.. it's a interesting new choice for HK youngsters. I , too, was attracted to try their scones. I had a chance to do so while being extremely hungry one day in Causeway, I ran up to Crumbs and asked for a scone. That person was like "Pay first!!" I was so hungry I asked them to go get it and wrap it first while I pay since there was one person ordering his yorgut VERY SLOWLY at the cashier. The staff told me, "No, pay first!"

Come on, it's a $8 scone. I am not going to run away, it's only $8.

So fine, I will pay up. Then when I got the scone....... ......... it was so RIDICULOUSLY small. Like maybe 1/3 of the size of a normal scone I had in HK, I am not comparing to those I had in Canada or US or Europe.

WHAT??? This is what you charge me for $8? Now pastries is very cheap here, stop cheating customers with all this gimmick of "charming western pastry store". The guy in front of my paid $40 for his frozen yogurt, which is acceptable if you really really needed a fix, but it's very expensive to me. Maybe I am a cheapo. There are places with better priced food and services.

I would never, ever return to this place, especially if there are so many similar competitors of street snacks in the same area. $8 is ALL you are gonna get from me, and I rather had donated that to charity.

Went here on a Sat afternoon as they give away free house crumbs for every regular cup w/two toppings or one super cup purchased. We had a regular with two toppings (and ended up having three tgt with the freebie) at $32.

It was a steal as the portion was OMFG-HUGE! Not sure if it was just an illusion but the thing appeared bottomless as we digged in and in and in. The toppings were given with generosity as i watched the girl putting three spoonfuls of green tea mochis onto my yogurt, and actually attempted to put even more had they not been dropping down everytime she tried. The crumbs, however, were not very evenly distributed as a lot had sunk to the bottom and could hardly be spooned out to be eaten with the yogurt.

Another reason why it was so popular among teens was that, I had to admit, the yogurt and toppings taste really nice. I would have usually asked for something more tarty and less like soft ice cream but this was enough to shut me up. Yes, it tasted like soft- ice cream which i was supposed to dislike. But i couldnt as it was really too delicious to complain about -creamy, probably the most creamy and smoothest i had had in town - rich in taste but not too much to make you start feeling guilty!

The toppings were also delicious - the house crumbs mixed with cinnamon is a must-have everytime i go as i like the smell of the herb mixed with the icing cold frozen yogurt; the green tea mochis were there just for the texture as they were pretty tasteless. The raspberry compote as my third topping was sour enough to lighten the cup, making it less a milkish and creamy snack into a healthy, cool snack perfect in the summer. The combination between the sour fruit and the rich yogurt was a divine one, this i am not exaggrating about! You must order raspberry with the yogurt to understand what i mean!

The only problem i could think of was the lack of proper seats and tables in the store. Had there been any for customers to enjoy their frozen yogurt, there would be more room for developing new products using the creamy frozen yogurt.

Nevertheless, i see why new branches of Crumbs keep sprouting across Hong Kong - and please, id love to see one in the western side of the island too, please

My friend and I were a bit full n not ready for a HEAVY Dinner YET.

so we went to CRUMBS, one of my favourite Frozen Yogurt Store in Causeway Bay.Its FroYo still tastes like the best in CB after all these months.

My favourite combination is MANGO + GRANOLA.

but i felt like trying something new this time so i picked CORN FLAKES instead of GRANOLA.

Mine tasted GOOD as usual.

It was the first time for my friend to have FroYo and he liked it as well.

He said Greentea Mochi's taste was.. INTERESTING! ( Definitely Positive! No worries. )

So we went shopping again after the Yumm Yummm refreshment!

P.s. I really want to try the new topping : MAPLE BANANA next time. heheee

I don't understand why so many people liked their house crumbs because I think that they tasted very bad,
so their saturday free house crumbs promotion does nothing to me---sadly.But I discovered today that ONLY in causeway bay shop,students can have total of three toppings ( one more than usual ) before purchasing at five~!I was so glad of this news because I've bought their yogurt several times on saturday but telling them I didn't want the free house crumbs---thinking myself that it was actually quite stupid.Now, $32 for three toppings ( I loved their berries specially the fresh and sour rasberry sauce ~! )and it will be definitely worth eating~!

It was actually our dinner and I felt very nice afterwards!! The store basically offers 3 things: frozen yogurt, raisin scones, and cheese scones.

I ordered a froyo. And i find that it was really smooth and firm, with an obvious yogurty tang. It was really so nice and i will be back for the second time when i pas by the place or going for a movie at the president theatre. But it seems like it always have quite long queue during peak hours when people finish work, movie or shopping. You will have to wait for a while before u can get ur stuffs. But quite worth waiting that i can say as we really enjoyed the things that we ordered.

This busy shop was the third shop I visited out of about 10+ in HK (see my other reviews). Unlike the first two shops I visited, this is not really a shop, just a street counter really. I actually did a little homework before I visited and found that the owner of this shop is some sort of celebrity so she probably got a lot of free press, which may just be hype. I also read the other reviews on OpenRice before writing this and I find it very amusing that quite a few of the negative reviews were foreign English-speaking/writing and the positive reviews mainly Chinese locals. This is notable I think. Locals still don't know what real frozen yogurt is, and possibly shops like this have set a sort of standard, which is sad. While foreigners have had the real stuff in the US and Europe, this Crumbs shop is the most evidence to me of why REAL frozen yogurt still is not really here yet, and I'll explain why.

Walking up to the counter of Crumbs was interesting. There's a lot of kids just standing around so after making my way through these crowds, I asked about the froyo. It was interesting that the owner herself was right in front and I knew it was her since I have seen her photo featured in an article before. Well, she was nice enough to give me a sample with some crumbs (a signature topping it seemed) as a topping to try. that was appreciated. I ordered the smaller size of the two offered.

Now, I have been trained in making frozen desserts, especially gelato and yogurt, so I have an idea for the ingredients and it seemed that Crumbs frozen yogurt is not really yogurt. It's creamy texture and stale taste gave me the impression of a dead (not active,nor live cultures) frozen milk product. I couldn't completely determine if it's because the milk was not fresh or if it might even have been powdered milk, but it definitely was not frozen yogurt in the pure sense. Not even close to Pinkberry (anyone in HK know what that is? It's called real frozen yogurt!) Now, Crumbs may have a little yogurt in it, but it's definitely not fresh. Fresh milk and/or yogurt does not have this type of texture nor taste. So now if this is what all of the youth and possibly some adults, think what frozen yogurt is, then it's SO SAD. As for the tart / sweetness ratio, it's off balance. It is not the correct ratio for what it should be, to taste good. But based on the traffic at this shop when I was there (around 7 pm), I pretty much think this shop is "critic-proof". It's trendy and cool, and as I've written before, that's the sad state of yogurt in HK.

But I won't actually give Crumbs the lowest rating because the service was actually good and it looked clean in there. Disappointment with the tiny variety of toppings and lack of flavors, but props for the simple menu and the scones. I actually think the scones are the product people should try. It's nothing special, but for the price, it's a decent value. Scones are hot and there's a few flavors to choose from.

It's too bad that they can't produce the same quality with their yogurt as they do with their scones. this stuff is okay, but not great.

comparing this frozen yoghurt with the ones available in my country, this tastes alot more like ice-cream. creamier & the taste of milk is stronger. i find the texture similar to mcdonald's sundae but the taste is of course different, afterall it's still yoghurt.

i think i would like it more if it's more sour. the toppings available are alot more fanciful. i tried the house crumbs & mini meringues. nice. imo this wouldn't be a dessert that i must eat everyday but it's still worth trying.

btw while in the queue waiting for my order, i realised too i was surrounded by 99% youngsters. definitely something that the younger crowd would like.

This is my 2nd time patronising this shop.
First time was on the first week of its opening, Crumb's froyo wasn't that good. It was too ice- creamy!
Then I thought it may be good to give it another try today.
I ordered Froyo with Blueberry and Granola, large size.

That Froyo is just like WHIPPING CREAM with Yogurt flavour.
It was way too creamy, and I felt so full after a few mouthful.
Blueberry was fresh, Granola is the sweetest of all that I have tried.

Isn't Froyo supposed to be "healthy" ?

Personally I feel that Crumbs serves the worst frozen yoghurt in HK.
The texture although very smooth, it is WAY too sweet and filling. It is too creamy and more like ice-cream.

The wait time and service is bad. There are no sitting down areas, and the counter is flooded with people waiting for their order to be ready. After a long time waiting in line, after paying, have to wait AT least 15-20s for minutes for the yoghurt to be served.


The only thing that Crumbs offers that is nice is the choice of marangs as toppings

today i was looking for Foryo so i went to Crumbs. Though it should be good from all the comments. .. I ordered this large size of froyo n was thinking to have blueberry and Mango to go with it. However, they said no Blueberry and Mango. So i choose another flavor- Crumbs and Greentea Mochinca. The green tea Mochinca is not smooth at all. .. hmm..
