Even though I'm supposed to be on a healthy diet, how can I pass up on a chance to good desserts,
Friend chose the Banana Chocolate Cake - it looked so rich and creamy on the outside, I couldn't wait for him to cut into the cake! Watching the cake get divided was a treat itself, the cake was so soft and the coating was so creamy, it felt like a fluffy piece of creamy cake The sweetness of the banana was just right, and didnt overpower the chocolate - cake was soft and fluffy whist the coating of pure chocolate was rich and smooth! (I had a tiny piece but till now I can still remember the fragrance of the banana and the chocolate...) hmmm

Ordered a lucky-fu all chocolate cake for cny. The 6-inch cake was enough to feed 7 adults. The coating and layers of chocolate was quite dense, not sweet at all thankfully. The sponge cake was not fluffy and was moist enough to get it in the right consistency. Would say the cakes here are deliciously edible delights that are great value for money. Recommended Dish(es):

Saw this new place last year when i was studying in HK, went in, but decided not to buy anything. Came back this summer, and decided to go in yesterday just because it's been a year and people are still raving about this place. Okay, people come in and look and leave, and only one man was buying something , but we got ice cream anyways. There was only one flavor, says the sales girl and it is chocolate. Okay, 1 scoop 28$ 2 scoop 38$ so I get 2 scoop. Ah, my HK friend says its VERY chocolate...so I asked her, what does that mean?!!? She says regular ice cream she eats in HK is not as chocolate..but I came from the USA so I was confused, because EVERY ICE CREAM I eat that is chocolate tastes JUST like this!!!! I go to supermarket and buy a big carton of ice cream for the same, or maybe less than the price i pay for 2 scoops here!! AND it will taste the same!! SO i will not come back unless there's another flavor that I can't try somewhere else..save your $$ this is not that special...i don't know why people say it's good~ Very cute take-away packaging though, and very big scoops of ice cream. I've heard a great deal of positive feedback from Awfully Chocolate...but after I tried it at my frd's bday.....all I can say is, its a normal chocolate cake. Not bad but Not great either. The one we got was the original chocolate. The outer layer was too sweet...the sponge was okay...I find it a little bit too soft (like an over proof bread). The filling was okay.....Its better than what you get at most retail chain stores tho. A little bit disappointed...;S Other Ratings: Taste 3 | Environment 4 | Service 4 | Hygiene 4 | Value for Money 3

Great taste, but lack of presentation I have tried the Cherry and rum, and the banana flavor. The cherry and rum cake is really moist, not sweet as its looks.....my dad loves it!! The banana one is not good as I expected.....maybe banana and chocolate is not a good combination..... Its a good choice if u like chocolate.....really rich in chocolate, not too sweet...... After our super yummy dinner at 萬豚屋, we just walk around in tst until we see the K-11 shopping mall. We were attracted by those cute paper animals and trees so went in to take some photos. My boyfriend mentioned he tried a cherry cake from Awfully Chocolate which he didn't like so this name caught my eye. He suggested going in to have look but I wasn't willing to leave after that "look". So we had a scoop of icecream, regardless of my sore throat. Hei Ice Cream It proved that my decision was right~ The texture is smooth but this icecream, man, it is not about the texture LOL welllll because the taste takes all the credits. It has an extremely strong chocolate taste, very very rich. The percentage of cocoa should be high as it is not very sweet. It is however very chocolatary (is there such adj) no need any extra sweetness to enhance its flavour. every single bud of my tongue literally jumped (!) for the authenic taste of chocolate. basically is a frozen chocolate, have no ice water whatever that should be diluting the richness. I like it a lot lot We brought our little icecream with us and walked around K11, We examined and admire this piece of architecture (but not really the shops in it :S) Enjoyable evening. And I had a fever when I got home....................... now still sick

Given the run-up to Valentine's, it was hard to refuse the smiles from the sales person at the temporary booth they set up in Harbour City and pick up a heart-shaped one. I decided to try the chocolate rum and cherry one on this dreadful weather day. I was pleasantly surprised by the much better ingredients they seem to use in Hong Kong over Singapore - the chocolate was smooth and had none of the aftertaste that I didn't like so much in Singapore. Cherries were well soaked although the rum was subtle - a little too subtle to have it in the name in my opinion. Nevertheless, an appropriately sweet dessert to a lazy day. Next up: the Chocolate Banana one.. For the original post, visit www.edeats.blogspot.com

Its been hectic keeping up with reviews lately. The portfolio accumulates by the week and as I sit staring at the hundreds of Photo-folder icons, I start to lose vision about what needs to be prioritised, but this shop sits high amongst that pile! Writing about AWFULLY CHOCOLATE has been on my agenda - especially after finally eaten one! **************************** A Chocolate 'Fugly' Cake, look I mean 'Fudgy'. ******************************* AWFULLY CHOCOLATE CERTAINLY PRESENTS A STRONG CASE FOR AN OCCASIONAL NEED TO ADVOCATE 'FORM SHALL FOLLOW FUNCTION' WHEN IT COMES TO FOOD PHILOSOPHY... ! PS: FOR THE HIGHISH PRICE, I WISH IT DID COME WITH PRETTIER CAKE DECORATIONS ON TOP AS A GESTURE FROM THE PROPRIETOR, CONSIDERING ITS MID-HIGH HKD300'S FOR ESSENTIALLY A DOMESTIC-STYLE CAKE, ALBEIT WELL MADE.... BUT IF AND WHEN WE DO BUY ONE, ITS OFTEN TO 'IMPRESS' SOMEONE ON A SPECIAL OCCASION. I MEAN IF ITS HOME MADE BY YOURS TRULY, THEN THE OTHER PARTY WILL BE MORE FORGIVING KNOWING ME AIN'T NO PATISSIER AND ITS PROBABLY MADE BY THE RICE COOKER! YOU COULD ARGUE THIS MIGHT JUST BECOME THE PERFECT OPPORTUNIY TO TEST WHETHER THAT SOMEONE ELSE IS SURFACE DEEP AND WILL ONLY CONSIDER THE AESTHETIC SIDE OF THINGS.

Tried its ice-cream twice in a month. Could not tell any difference from the Singapore and Taiwan shops. Recommended to those who like a rich taste of chocolate. On the other hand, it's not that sweet and the texture is quite thick and "solid". Still not sure if it can manage to keep its practice of selling a full cake, instead of slices, in HK. Can't imagine there would be much demand on a full 6-inch cake. And rental costs would be a challenge too.
