If you want the one of the best Hong Kong-styled milk tea in the world, you must drink one at Tsui Wah. It’s authentic stuff. As you may already know, real Hong Kong-styled milk is silky smooth. The balance between the tea and milk is just perfect. Apparently when Sharon had it during her summer in Hong Kong, she closed her eyes when she had her first sip after a year of no Tsui Wah milk tea. The second thing everyone should get at Tsui Wah is their hot Crispy Bun...

It was just past noon on a weekday and the queue looked reasonablly short, so my colleague and I decided to give it a try.  After around 5-10 mins we got our seats but had to share a table with another pair.  The set lunch of the day sounded nice so we both went for it. chopstick Soup of the day Didn't actually know what soup it was as the waitress just said "red" soup or "white" soup, so I chose the latter. It was some kind of cream of xx soup and it was cooled when it a...

翠華 is my always favourite after my clubbing in Central. This time I picked a "Club Sandwich". I love the rich content inside and crispy bread. The pan fried eggs were good too. It also made me feel contented after lots of wines smileMy friend chose "Potatoes and muchrooms in cream sauce", goes with rice, which I didnt taste. But from the outlook, it didn't attarct me at all. I guess the taste would be the same?

Tsui Wah Restaurant 翠華餐廳 has come a long way having first started in 1967. Today, this cha chaan teng has expanded with over 17 outlets in Hong Kong and has even ventured into Shanghai and Macau.  We were on our way to Yung Kee when we spotted Tsui Wah Restaurant located directly opposite Yung Kee Building. At Yung Kee, we had to take a queue number and were told to come back 1 hour later. As we were hungry, we decided to visit Tsui Wah Restaurant and sh...

Tsui Wah as everyone knows it, is a local Cha Chaan Teng famous for many of its Cantonese dishes such as fish ball noodles, curry beef brisket and crispy condensed milk bun. I actually consider Tsui Wah to be partially international especially the one located at Wellington street, where it is almost a Must Go restaurant for traveler in Hong Kong. Sometimes I joke about Tsui Wah's success lies on this very branch. Tsui Wah at Wellington street is always packed with l...

Went to Central to get something today, and wanted to find a place to get a drink and some snack. This is the second time I ordered their 奶油豬. The butter and condensed milk makes good combination with toasted bun. It tasted good the first time I tried (couple months ago), but, the bun served today was cold and not as crispy. sad

奶油豬 The savoriness of the butter and the sweetness of the condensed milk combined is sensational. The bun is toasted to a crispy texture as well, which makes it all the more enjoyable. The milk tea here is also good, though of course not as good as 冰鎮 ones, and at $17 for an iced one, it’s even more expensive than the bun… However, without it, I would have fainted from the heat and stuffiness of this place, during the crazily crowded lunch hour.

I had garoupa coury and a hot milk tea. One of the best meals I've ever had. I wish I could get something like the garoupa curry in NYC, but only in HK.

It's absolutely insane during weekday lunch times esp. between 12:30 - 1:30pm, but nonetheless I still like to come here sometimes for lunch! Just coz it's Tsui Wah! tongue I have had Tsui Wah in this location so many times. The atmosphere/mood/level of service depends on the time of the day. If you go during lunchtimes on a weekday it's super hectic and they would keep referring to "upstairs! upstairs!" although there aren't actually more seats upstairs.. mad Anyway ...

Finally back to HK to write my first review. Anyway, I went to Tsui Wah again for a light lunch. I ordered the same old food, like the lemon barley water and the fishball vermicelli, but this time those 2 dishes proved to be disappointing. For the lemon barley water, the water just simply tasted sweet and the lemon flavor wasn't that strong. The barley was huge and I had to break them down into smaller pieces. Compared to the last time I had it, it was much better made. As ...
