A variety of raw food trays were ordered (in order to cook in the hotpot at our table). The mushrooms were quite nice, and the tofu curd wraps also went quite well. Most of the meat was a bit fatty for my taste. So, that really limited what I was keen to try. But, everything went well with the base. By the end of the meal, I was getting a bit of a buzz -- and suspect that the meat balls (fish, chicken, etc). were MSG impregnated. (I did not have any; but when cooking them, an exchange with the soup is inevitable) The almond 'cloud' was not as thick as it could have been, and was a bit starchy. But still of reasonable quality (given the price of <$10) The environment was a typically LOUD hotpot eatery. Very local ambiance. Supplementary Information: Some confusion over the beer noted on our slip. An extra $8 is nothing to make a big fuss over, though. Hygene was reduced as some black blob arrived with our satay soup part. It was quickly removed by the waitress --but was suspiciously NOT like a spice!!! Although not part of the dining experience, when going to use the washroom, there was a crew working on cleaning the ventilation grills (or something of the sort). Even though cleaning above prepared (set) tables, there was nothing to protect the dishes from any 'additional flavouring' from the cleaning. Bit of a disappointment. Recommended Dish(es):

I have been hotpot in 稻香 many times, but this one in MK, really the first time and did not expact it was that bad... 1- Unacceptable, how can a hotpot place has no 指天椒?? (cannot be ordered too) XO sauce is the only spicy stuff they have.. come on... 2- soya sauce is too sweet ... 3- 炸腐皮 is super bad, if you think it is good, i can tell you, many other places are a lot better!! it tasted like a plastic!! 4- hand-cut beef ($58) was worse than those $30/kg in 佳寶 5- tomato and potato soup base was so bad, (1 tomato and cut into 4 then put into hot water), are you playing me? seriously, do not waste money, i rather eat 辛辣麵 at home!! have to try other 稻香 one more time, if it is the same, definitly black list for good!! I only came here for yum cha twice and have never ate their family dinner or hot pot. The yum cha was quite cheap if you go before 11am. They have 'Twins' deal where you choose two items from a designated menu for a very low price of ~$11 (i think) If you have two people you can get 2 'Twins'. Anyways, that is besides the point. I am here writing this review is because twice coming here I've been sick by all the MSG they use in the dim sum, especially the steam radish cake. My stomach does not take MSG very well. We went to Tao Heung abt a wk ago. Luckily, we didnt have to wait for long (9pm session). The waiters and waitresses were very attentive. The hotpot was nice. I just wanted to try everything, so we ended up ordered 11 dishes for the hotpot, American beef, lamb, scallop, and different kinds of "clams" (蚌) 象拔蚌 is very fresh and abit crunchy. You can either eat in raw with wasabi or cooked in the hotpot. it's worth going again........ Would like to try the dimsum next time.
