Well, there was a queue so that explains the waiting time, yet notably not that long (around 10min). And I realised the time I visited, which was around 7plus in the evening, there's bound to have a queue. However, I was glad to be received by a polite lady who tends to orders and payments.  Enough about service and waiting time, time to talk about the actual stuff. Craving for something sweet to chase some blues away, I went for the chocolate flavoured eggette. I was very very glad ...

The popularity of this egg waffle shop is not to be overlooked as customers have to grab a ticket and wait a good 15 minutes for your waffle during the weekend. In my opinion I don't think these are as good as everyone say they are. The sweetness was just right but the egg flavour did not overwhelm me, though I like how they didn't add too much batter so that the waffle was half hollow and didn't taste like cake. mad People who like egg waffles often look for ones which are crispy on the...

Mammy Pancake consists of a small shop which primarily sells gai dan jais, although they also sell drinks and other popular street snacks such as siu mai. The gai dan jais come in 3 flavours- original, chocolate and sesame. I picked original as I wanted to compare these gai dan jais to ones I’ve tasted previously. However, most people in front of me opted for the chocolate variety which looks deliciously decadent, so I may try it next time I come.Upon receiving my paper bag containing a ...

Original 'Gai Daan Jai'There was a queue forming when we eventually found the place. After some 10 minutes of waiting, we finally had our 'Gai Daan Jai'! With great anticipation (after the religious ceremony of photo-taking was done), we started ripping 'balls' of it out and popping into our mouths. Served piping hot, the surface was extremely crisp and crusty, complemented by a moist, soft and fluffy interior. The balance in textures was enhanced by the n...

I won't talk too much and come directly to the point: this is definitely the best chicken egg cake in town! Since I'm always on the hunt for the best in class, a friend of mine recommended this down to earth street bakery to me... and I'm so thankful for that!!! The chicken egg is always freshly made, because there is usually never a siuation where there are not at least 5 people queuing up. So plan to wait a few minutes. It comes hot in the common paper bag, outside crispy, insi...

Came to Hung Hom for a special mission. Joined my buddy B and then headed to this famous egg custard balls before dinner - the best local snacks in town! We swapped the flavours this time: Mine: chocolates (comparing with white sesame, chocolates came really rich and sweet. The aroma lingers) B: White sesame (relatively light in flavour but very nice indeed, each ball cover white sesame and so rich!) All in all, i prefer white sesame a lot while my B is vice vera...

$14 chocolate egg pancake (eggette,朱古力雞蛋仔). First time trying this HK traditional snack. I heard usually each ball is half egg sponge and the other half empty & crispy. Mammy's quite different from expectations. Freshly made, the outside is all so hot and crispy. There's choco that oozed out to the flat piece so seems quite generous with the filling. The flat piece gives a thicker crunch than the crispy balls. Each ball has some choco in the top & bottom air pockets. ...

WOW!!! The 雞蛋仔 is absolutely the BEST I ever had! I probably had close to 10 雞蛋仔 this month. I just can't stay away from it (have to stop by whenever I pass by). The 雞蛋仔 is crispy and soft. While waiting for the 雞蛋仔, you can also enjoy the enticing smell! tongue

We were planning to go to 時新, but it wasn't open that day. Poor 翠翠. Ended up going to an average Japanese place for lunch, then came back here for a 雞蛋仔. After a couple minutes of contemplating, we ordered a 粒粒朱古力雞蛋仔 and waited about 10 minutes for it. It was freshly made and the chocolate bit melted quite evenly. However, it wasn't as good as I expected because there wasn't as much chocolate as it should have and perhaps I expected too much. To be honest, i...
