Obviously the bread is what sets this place apart. When I bite into it, I can feel a delicious warmth sweep down my body (which I also get from great scotch). I had the Japanese pasta with it, al dente and tasty. Coffee was also very tasty. Right next to my new flat so will be here often. Table Wait Time: 6 minute(s)

Well, the bread's soo good because....... it's full of butter!!! Basically it's like croissant, loads of butter and loads of folds, hence loads of layers and very fragrant. Biting into the bread slice just reminds me of croissant but in a different shape and that it's paired with Japanese western sides. Had the 明太子意粉 which was great. Stir fry spaghetti which was al dente and mixed with some seaweed slices, green peppers and the roe obviously. A pathetic sized broccoli and cherry tomato on the side. The service I have to say is "good" as in they are sincere in serving you, but their English is quite bad and they don't speak Cantonese.. so unless you speak Japanese expect some mis-communications.. If I have a choice I would go to the one in TST with way more seats. This location is pathetically small! Over an hour wait in the late afternoon PLUS the ventilation is terrible so expect to smell like burnt toast and have kitchen smoke smell soaked up in your hair and clothes by the end of your meal! I have always wanted to try this place for the famous layered bread. I got the plain toast with butter and jam, and the other one with apple and ice-cream. The toast reminded me of danish pastry, except that it was made of yeast and flour and basically it was bread. The apple one was disappointing, because it was the same bread, but the piece of bread they used was hard, stale and tough. I found lots of almond flakes but I could hardly find any apple.

I'm a bread lover and I really think the toast is really great, we ordered two pasta sets, the carbonara is far better than the Ming tai chi one. I just wanted to order another piece of toast when I had finished mine!We took the outside seats and this made us a very relaxing lunch in Sunday! Recommended Dish(es):

Taste: eggs were very smooth and milky and tasted really good with this white (cheeselike) sauce that they give you. Bread was exceptionall. similar texture to a croissant when you bite into it. I never really like heavy breads like they serve in western countries. Therefore this one is really good! 2. Chicken cutlet sandwich Chicken was crispy, juicy and mouth watering. Bread again was very good. Thumbs up! Portion: Too small for the price that you're paying. I think they should start considering increasing the size of the meal. Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

Went over here on a Sun's morning, the place is pretty small but it's cozy enough, we sat outside and waited for around 20 mins for a table ready. We have ordered Spicy chicken sandwiches, I have to say... The crispy and nicely toasted Danish bread was nice, the chicken was tasty too. AWESOME!

'This restaurant is really a hole in the wall!' - JR. Yes, this lovely gem is petite. The entrance is difficult to find and there are only about 14 seats inside. Seats are pretty tight and there is usually a short queue for the delicious thick-cut loaves they're famous for, right at the entrance. But service is quick and you can technically be in and out in around 30 minutes. 20, if you're a quick eater.
mmm. lure me.
Food:
The classic thick cut bread is really special. I haven't tasted bread like it before. There is a small knob of butter smeared onto the rim of your plate, just a small knob, enough to smear one side of a piece of toast. To be honest the toast is as good with butter as without, because it's quite buttery standing alone, probably from the manufacturing process. Texture: I would describe it to be a cross between a croissant and white bread? Yes that would be an apt description. It's oily on the outside, the center is soft and kind of airy but not as airy as croissant middles - yet not as substantial as white bread. Somewhere in between. I loved the crust
After both of us cleaned our first plates, JR was hungry and wanted to order another item. Thank you JR for adding evil calories to my diet. And this is what JR picked:
I wonder how they made it so delicious. But next time i am NOT ordering this again because it's WICKED. I'll go for the pastas again. Or the egg sandwich, which is supposed to be good too. Conclusion: Oh i am so definitely coming back. No question about that! Recommended Dish(es):

I opted for the egg sandwich and oh my, it was tremendously yummy! The egg, mixed with mayonnaise was deliciously creamy; the Danish bread was slightly toasted, rich and delightful. I have to admit though, the creaminess of the mayonnaise and the richness of the bread made the meal more filling that I had anticipated. I was struggling to finish the whole sandwich, but it was still scrumptiously good. A, had the specialty, pork cutlet sandwich, she thought the sandwich was quite tasty, the pork chop; succulent and flavoursome, the bread; crunchy and buttery. She thoroughly and utterly enjoyed it. I had a tiny piece of this, and it was as good as I remembered it. It’s a great cozy café, unfortunately, after all this time and visit, I have yet to try their sweet dish. I truly do enjoy this café, especially the bread. The egg sandwich is good but the pork cutlet sandwich is infinitely better. Here’s a close up of the succulent pork cutlet sandwich. We passed through Bo-Lo'gne yesterday and find its desserts are very attractive, read all comments are good on desserts but OK for spaghetti and drinks, we decided to go for dessert lunch originally. 7 of us didn’t make any reservation, we were seating outside, under a clear but not sun-shine day, a very European atmosphere restaurant but owned by Japanese and serve Japanese style Italian cuisine, bread and spaghetti. Finally, we have ordered set of Cabonara spaghetti, Napolitian spaghetti (Japanese style), Seasonal spaghetti (with mushroom), Banana chocolate toast (add $10 to have green tea latte), French toast and 2 set lunch (Seafood curry - fish and prawn), plus 1 additional set lunch in the middle of the meals. All spaghetti served with a toast. The toast is warm to hot, good texture and delicious. Spaghetti without heavy pepper flavor, not as commented previously by others. The chef might read the comments and amend the recipe. French toast, as others said, the egg is good but it makes the French toast wet and soft, not able to chew the good texture of bread (thousand layers), however, it tastes not bad, honey is too sweet to me only. Banana chocolate, excellent, we all love it. The set tea, we changed to Green Tea Latte, with additional $10, comments good. If you are expecting to have freshly brewed coffee from espresso machine, you will be disappointed. They serve Japanese brewed coffee, not very strong, but taste acceptable. Last but not the least, the set lunch, Seafood curry cutlet with a salad starter is exceptionally excellent. I have ordered an additional set other than French toast set. The fish and prawn cutlet is fresh and freshly deep-fried, the curry is traditional Japanese style, spicy but sweet. The rice is authentic Japanese Pearl rice, very sticky and chewy sweet. We all are happy to have a good lunch at this country side feeling restaurant as we were enjoying our holiday in Europe. Before we left, we bought the loaf and pieces of bread.

Went over for the first time to have a pork cutlet sandwich in the Danish bread. Pretty good, I have to say... The Danish bread was nice but not as greasy as the one from Robuchon, which I guess is healthier for me. The pork cutlet was freshly fried and tasty. Yummy and quick lunch. 4 people (and 1 puppy) we ordered: * Curry chicken cutlet sandwich.. i didnt taste this as i am worry of too spicy, but my friends said this was the best dish!! * 2 x Pork cutlet sandwich... very interesting combination... very japanesy! the sauce is good, the overall taste is like a burger * 2 x spaghetti. the spaghetti is exactly like the pasta you have in tokyo. slightly al-dente. very light sauce, and nice decoration. but i dont think it goes that well with the bread * The final dish, my favorite, is the dessert with chocolate, cream and chocolate sauce. yum...! * 4 drinks, my friends told me the orange juice was very bad. well japanese style like cordial. im sorry, the coffee is also horrible. again, japanese style - no taste. haha. * I was so impressed, i bought 4 slices of bread to bring it back home for mom (cost $35)... very expensive bread la... Conclusion: overall good lunch experience. I was also impressed with the very good service, and then even let us book a table for 4 outside (as we have a puppy). There is only one quite-serious problem, which spoil this meal - around 20 minutes after the meal, my mouth feel very dry. and this lasted for over 1-2 hours. i think this restaurant uses some sort of MSG. im not sure if its in the bread or the
The Spaghetti was OK. i give it 7/10...

Went to Bo-lo'gne this past Friday with 3 friends. I made sure to make a reservation beforehand since I knew the place would be pretty small. Environment: Place is really small (only 4-5 tables) but it's cozy in a nice way. Didn't feel cramped. When you walk in you smell the wonderful aroma of their bread. Awesome welcome greeting...haha. Service: This was my main gripe. Their waiter was attentive and nice. The main issue was food took almost 30 minutes to make (we just ordered some cutlet sandwiches and a pasta dish) which I thought was way too long. To me, consider the place only has a few tables it's not ideal their food takes that long to make. Food wise I thought was good and here is what I ordered: Pork Cutlet Sandwich: I couldn't come here without ordering this. Personally I thought the sandwich was quite tasty. The bread...is great. It was toasted so it was crunchy and buttery. So nice. The pork cutlet was pretty flavorful and juicy. The tonkatsu sauce was maybe a tad sweet for my tastes but overall it was still a good sandwich. My only gripe, because it took 30 minutes for them to prepare the sandwich it arrived 'warm' but not hot. Not a major issue but it would have been better if it was hot. Pumpkin Soup (daily special): I was so excited about this. I love drinking pumpkin soup (similar to butternut squash soup) when I was in the US. It's so filling, creamy and makes me feel so warm inside. Sadly, the pumpkin soup at Bo-lo'gne is not like that. It basically is a vegetable soup that is spiced lightly with pumpkin. Pretty decent tasting but I was a little disappointed. It also comes with a serve of their signature bread which was nice. Overall I would come back here again but maybe in an off-peak hour when it won't take them 30 minutes to cook my food. It's really quite a nice place to chill out and enjoy a nice tasty sandwich

好味丹麥麵包! This is the second time I dined at this cozy little cafe. I like the feel of like being in Japan - the chatters of the lady owner and her staffs in Japanese, the utterly politeness of the waiters, the settings on the tables, the cleaniness of the place ... I had Pork Cutlet Sandwich, Honey Ice-cream on toast, and Cinnamon Apple Toast. I also tried their daily special Curry Pork Cutlet Rice. Yum yum~!! They only serve it on Tues. SURPRISE~! It's as good as the Pork Cutlet I had in Maisen (まい泉) in Tokyo! The curry is mildly hot - just the right level to bring out the fragrance of the Japanese curry, yet not too much as to kill your taste buds. The pork cutlet is juicy and freshly fried just like the one in their sandwich. The pork cutlet is of high quality, not like the thin local ones you get from 新景園. The cafe was towards their closing time when I finished my dinner there tonight. I saw the big packets of white blocks stacking up in individual translucent bags on the counters. Out of curiosity, I asked the waiter what those were. Apparently those were the freshly flown in bread dough that their factory in Japan made! They flown in fresh dough once or twice every day, depending on the number of orders they received. The fermentation and kneading and baking are then all done here in the cafe.

I was told one loaf of bread here costs $100. Amazing. I must try. We booked a table for 3 but when we got there, the waitresses seemed they had no idea why we were there. The place was already full. And then, one of the waitresses found a piece of paper with our booking marked on it. We were eventually placed outside in front of the adjacent art gallery, which was fortunately closed. The food was alright. Very Japanese style. The bread tasted just like any other Japanese bread you can buy in the Japanese bakery. However, once you take a bit, you will realise why it costs $100 per loaf. Therefore, I still recommend you to try. Another thing my friend complained, was that they put out wine glasses inside as if they offer wine. When he ordered wine, we were then told they do not have a liquor licence as yet. Then why mislead the customers????

I'm from Japan. What a wonderful surprise to find Bo_Lo'Gne in Hong Kong! Yes, Bo_Lo'Gne Danish is really popular in Japan. I missed the breads which have crisp surface. Generally, Hong Kong style breads are so soft that I feel like they are not well done. I love the crisp and nicely burnt Danish of Bo_Lo'Gne! It's really different from ordinary breads. In addition, the Cafe is very nice! It's cosy and cute. I love their creative danish desserts. They are big enough and tasty! I tried "Cinnamon Apple" and I was 120% happy because of its taste and volume!! I'll never get bored even if I would eat Bo_Lo'Gne Danish for every breakfast! Recommended Dish(es):
