Last night my family and I visited the Skycity Marriott to enjoy their Oktoberfest buffet at their Skycity Bistro. With their complementary shuttle that leaves from the Tung Chung MTR station, the Skycity Marriott is a convenient escape from the usual dining options available in Tung Chung.

Having spent the better part of my senior year as an exchange student in Germany, I am always on the look out for a good German restaurant where I can satisfy my cravings for some of the foods I learned to love while living there. The fare offered by the Skycity Bistro is a good find.

Along with the usual buffet finds such as the ever popular fresh seafood, sushi, curries and a chocolate fountain they are currently offering authentic German dishes such as pork knuckles, veal schnitzel, a variety of German sausages, pretzels and many exciting and delicious German desserts including apple strudel and black forest cherry cake.

I found the baked fish in horseradish sauce to be surprisingly delicious and the curries warranted a second trip. My children were over-joyed to see the chocolate fountain. The wheat beer with Cola Jelly dessert really brought me back to my days in Germany where I first tried the 50/50 combination of cola and beer. It was a pleasant and exciting reminder of my time in Germany.

The restaurant itself is well decorated, clean and relaxing. Even when it became busy it never seemed overcrowded or noisy and offered a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience.

The service was excellent! The servers were attentive, friendly and efficient. One server in particular, named Edward, went above and beyond and when he saw that our little ones, who had been indulging on the chocolate fountain, we're becoming covered in chocolate and that the moistened towelettes provided just were not doing the job, brought us a moistened wash cloth so I could clean their chocolate covered fingers and mouths. It was a fine example of the exceptional service we received.

The Oktoberfest buffet is running now until November 4th. Prices are Monday-Thursday adults HK$418 and children HK$238. Friday-Sunday and public holidays adults HK$448 and children HK$ 268. The beer buffet at an extra $78 is an excellent deal and offers several German and other beers to choose from.

As recommended by friends, we took a try to go enjoying a lunch buffet there yesterday. The cafe environment provides us an atmosphere of relaxation. The most important of all, we quite appreciate the freshliness and tasty of the salad choice, seafood and hot dishes, except the variety and quality of deserts were limited to dissatisfactory.

Overall, we did enjoy the food quality and may visit there again.

1st time go here to celebrate my daughter's birthday. under the name Marrriott, i think it will not too bad. the price is cheap a lot compare with admiralty one. the variety is less a lot. a table of salad, a table of cold food, the sasimi is not so variety, no "sweet shrimp".
the chinese food is also not much choice, only3 big dishes, a table of boil noodle, a table of western food, also 3 big dishes, and 3 bowls of curry. the dessert is ok, but the fruit is cheap, only red and green apples. the ice cream did not show the brand name, i had asked the cook, they said haggen daz. if this price is acceptable. how can provide more variety of food. i did not respect so less choice of food. the location is already far away. the cook know some dish already no more food, but replace not so fast. however, the waiter not too late to replace dishes. only always need to remind give me hot water.

Frist visit of a far away hotel which next to Asain Expo. A nice & match AIRPORT theme environment in restaurant. I had enjoyed 50% off discount with my sister who work as a Airport Staff in dinner time. Food were ~~ same as any where hotel in Hong Kong, Fresh oyster, lobster, crab leg, green sea whelk.......walk along the food counter with chinese, western, a bit of Indian stuff, DESSERT ~ what a nice tailor made by small glasses and fresh make souffle. As we knew, most of buffet dessert in other hotel were came out by cutted cake. Service was good but (not the old ladies & man, should be the part time workers). Overall my experience was good and I will visit there to looking for another news. tongue

the location of this place is near Asiaworld Expo. That means it is quite a bit if distance from everywhere but Asiaworld Expo. From the airport, you can take their shuttle bus or airport express train.

Foodwise, nothing fantastic. The crab legs, crayfishes and sashimi do not taste fresh in anyway. As for the chinese selection wise, the BBQ meat (siu yok) is great! We order a so-called "freshing -squeezed" juice, but was told later it was made 10 hours ago.

Servers were not so attentive. One of them even had some bad attitude. Considering the location, money , food and service, I would not recommend it to anyone at allsad
