Very bad experience  May 16, 2012
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
Super bad service. Will not go there again. I was there this morning around 7:56am. Was told to wait for a moment. So I sat down and read my newspaper because I knew the shop opens at 8 am. But time passed and I asked the woman at the counter at 8:07 whether the shop is ready to serve client, the woman said: 等多一陣得吾得? And when I asked again whether the shop opens at 8:00am, she bluntly said :等我做埋d手尾得唔得? I asked for the supervisor and the woman said she is the supervisor. So I left.

Waiting for a few extra minutes is not the issue, but it is the attitude of this lady that bothers me. When I left, I heard her yelling loudly behind my back telling other customers her side of the story.

I have been to that store once or twice every month, mainly for the gayan toast and coffee. Food is not bad but will never go there again because of this incident.

What a rude sales staff  Dec 22, 2010
Share with MessengerShare on TwitterShare on Facebook
I have been a regular customer at Toastbox as I very much like the peanut butter toast and the milk tea. However I have been so upset today about the service that I have been provided. Finished work earlier today and arrived at the place at 5:45pm. Understand that there was afternoon tea available during weekday (normally I go there on weekend and no afternoon tea set was available). I remember correctly I approach the sales staff at 5:50pm and wanted to order an afternoon tea set. I have been rudely told that no afternoon tea set will be served. I said to her it was not yet 6:00pm yet, why? She told me so rude that 'You should not refer to your time, I ONLY REFER TO MY TIME....and I will not serve you any afternoon tea' . I was so shocked with her service and tone..... and indeed what was meant by MY TIME and YOUR TIME. Why should there be a 10 minute difference on that......... I was so disappointed about the staff at toastbox.... Although it is not an expensive place to tea and was serving inexpensive tea set, but I do not deserve to be treated so badly........

    Cake & Coffee Smile Feb 17, 2010

This TOAST BOX is a good choice for us before going supermarket for foods. We enjoy their Nanyang tea and coffee with condesned milk (HK$13 each) and their herb cake (HK$13 for 1 pc and HK$20 for 2 pcs).

However, I am sick of the line up. It usually took me at least 3 mintues waiting in the single queue every visit. I wish there's way to improve this.

    bowlNANYANG COFFEE -
The Coffee Beans are quite dark roasted, then mixed with butter and then stored. It carries a smooth but roasty character in the cup! Its actually quite enjoyable together with the skim milk, but its a bit too sweet for me!

    bowlHALF-COOKED EGGS -
Can opt for Fried Eggs or Half Cooked Eggs. You eat these with the included sweetened soy sauce and white pepper. These were pretty cold to me, and besides, I have no idea why its meant to been eaten together with the sweet Coffee nor the Kaya Toast... 有點無喱頭!

    bowlKAYA & BUTTER TOAST -
This again was too cold by the time it arrived, the plate was cold and it took them too long to call out my number! The Kaya is ok, but doesn't have much coconutty taste and the spread is too thin here. The Toasts were toasted well but the coldness doesn't help it.

OVERALL - ENJOYED THE COFFEE EXCEPT ITS SWEETNESS. TOAST WAS OK-GOOD BUT COLD.
Pretty Good and Buttery, yet Too Sweet!

I will be back! Just OK Nov 10, 2009

I had a late lunch with my elder son here. We ordered a "傳統土司餐" (HK$28) and two pieces of 班蘭蛋糕 (@HK$13 each), and another 南洋咖啡 (HK$13). It costed HK$67.

The "傳統土司餐" comes with a set of 牛油咖椰多士, two 半熟蛋, and a beverage (iced 南洋咖啡 w/ 煉乳). The filling of the toast was kaya paste and chilled butter. The toast was crisy enough to match with the chilled butter - lovely experience! The 半熟蛋 is a good match with the thick black sweet sauce. I chose iced coffee with condensed milk and it didn't disappointed me.

The texture of "班蘭蛋糕" always a surprise to me even I had it before. The elasticity was very great but the taste of "班蘭" or "eggs" were too little to be detected.

Although it is not inexpensive, I think I will come again because of the "南洋咖啡 w/ 煉乳". I will be back!
