Kam Tin Long Sushi Restaurant     金田長壽司  

We went there using our Open Rice group buy voucher. We had two of the soft shell crab sets and three of the sashimi set.

The jumbo oyster all both sets were super super big!!!!! the sashimi one was really fresh! the sashimi set overall was fresh and great tasting. However with the soft shell crab set, we were a bit disappointed as it seems like most of the food were a bit over cooked especially the soft shell crab, it was really oily and soggy.

It was a good meal overall, and definitely will go back to give it another try, as they have great a good selection of other food on their menu, and reasonably priced.

Went to have dinner there with my friend, we order the BBQ set plus 6 raw oysters.

The BBQ set was very nice but what I want to praise is the raw oysters. They are big, fresh and without sand (yes, without sand is a credit. I went to a restaurant in Wan Chai the day before with oyster bar, guess what? they have sand in oyster and even piece of oyster shell). what the common saying that describe the taste of oyster? Tear drops of the sea. Yes, that's what today's oyster taste like. In short they are great and highly recommended. The BBQ salmon and the 8 inches sushi are great too and they are really innovative!

The environment there was fair but the service was good.

It was a Saturday night 8.30pm.. The whole restaurant was packed, only a few tables left.

Enviornment:
It's a place with a lot of young people, and even young family would bring their kids to go.
Definitely not a good place for a group of people to catch up.As the place is small, very squeezy and noisy.

Speaking of the service:
They do not have enough staff !!!!! We kept asking for ordering but no one was caught for attention.

Speaking of food,
We have 4 people, and we ordered
1. 8 inches sushi delux - Except the eel,cos its cooked the rest are NOT fresh at all..- NO GOOD
2. 8 inches grilled salmon - It's better than the sashimi 8 inches ! - OK
3. 特級火山卷 was composed of 6 but we ordered 2 only) - This is unblievably bad, the whole thing is huge, but apart from rice- i cannot see what makes it become so huge.............. - BAD
4. Wasabi octopus - nice, but small - OK
5. 螺 - OK
6. Grilled Salmon stomache - Very oily !!!!!!!! but the fish is actually veyr smooth - NO GOOD
7. 2 chicken skewers - BAD
8. grilled eggplants - OK

Total 460 for 4 people

The price is very reasonable for the quality provided.
But i recommended, if you really want to eat quality sashimi and sushi , this is not a good option.
But seriously, do not expect quality food while you only paying 120 per person...
We ordered a lot so it is actually very good value...

We went to TST for christmas shopping. My friend told me that Kam Tin Long Sushi is very popular at Yuen Long and now they have a branch at TST. So, we went to have a try. I have never been to the one at Yuen Long.

When we first got in, the place was half empty. The decoration is not too bad. Light is soft and dark. A waitress brought us to a table with sofa on one side, but the sofa is not really that comfortable.

The menu is full picture with English Chinese, and Japanese, however, the special menu and drink menu is in Chinese only.

The first dish to come is the sashimi boat. It has morn then 10 kinds of fish. The fish is not the best quality, but they are still fresh. We are a party of four and the portion is good for us. We add an extra order of uni sashimi. The uni is very fresh and it is only about $100. Next is the beef stone rice bow. There was only 5 slices of beef. I think they should give more beef. The stone bowl is very hot and after putting the source in, the bowl becomes very tasty. We also ordered grill beef tongue and saba. They are ok. The size is bigger than other normal Japanese restaurant.

Althought, there are not that many customer, but the service is slow.

Overall, it is ok for a casual dinning.

Heading out the the pub tonight. My buddy from work bring us to this "long sushi" place just a street down from the pub.

Three of us sit down at the table. The place doesn't look too "Grand", but I think it is o.k.. The menu is big with a lot of pictures.

We ordered a salad. It is hugh! I think it can feed 6 people. We worked the long sushi set. The fish is not the best stuff, but it is ok for its price. The sea eel is super good. We also ordered some oysters. They are from US. It is fresh, but it think it is too big in size. The shrimp tempura is super good. The shrimp is really big. I highly recommend it.

Overall is good. We will come back again before out weekend drinking!

We spended about 100 dollars per person.

11 Jan 08 Evening, where I was sitting right next to the founder.
The food is horrible, the Salmon Sushi is not fresh at all, where the sushi right seem to be there for a while.
The Grill Salmon head is absolutely a joke, where it is medium rare
Also, one of the waitress, was trying to come over hard selling some dishes, pretty annoying.
After the initial complaint, they took away some of the sushi, and at the end I am just paying half the bill, as they know the food is horrible

Sushi with seaweed look like left over .....

I won't go there again... if you are thinking of bringing your girlfriend there.. particular the first date.. make sure you go elsewhere..

Also, if you are there, have a look at the Sushi bar Refrigerator ... I don't think is cold enough as the water is dripping down within the ice tube

Today i dated my good friend in Jordon, i was holding 2 big shopping bags with high heel... ><"
After i met my friend, we walked along the street from Bossini and then i saw a japanese restruant and i said just walk in there, i cant walk any further. Its very near to Yau Ma Tai MTR station.
After sit down, i just know this is the place my colleague had been there with the famous 8" long sushi That's so gooood!! Today i can finally try na. They are so fresh and long.. hahaha... very yummy. And i love the jumbo scallope sushi very much, my friend re-order after we finished the first piece. hahaha... My friend said the seafood seems very fresh, we should order a sashmi boat.. only $188. Then we also tried the chicken wings.. so hot and crispy My friend's sister loves it very much and asked my friend must order 1 set to go for her Since the sushi already filled up our tummy, we only ordered fried squid and fresh oysters after. Wow... the oysters are really big ^^"
Overall my friend and i are really happy about their quality. We are planning to have Christmas dinner here with our friends this year. So we asked the manager about it, he even said he will create their own website. So we can always have the updated special offer... so good ar ^^
After we paid the bill, he gave us a stamp card and saying we will have 10% off after collect 10 stamps

btw, they also have lunch set $38 only, let me try it with my bf later... lol
