I love having dinner at Pepper Lunch. Because of the Tenpan style. I enjoying stiring the dishes and love the smells of the dish comes out when you mixes the rice and sause together. The food is hot enough which makes it much more nicer. The Black Pepper Beef Rice is my favoutite dishes! It cost only $39 that you can enjoy your meal together with soup or drink. It's quite resonable huh?!! Cant wait to go dine with my friend at Pepper Lunch next week!!!!! Table Wait Time: 10 minute(s)

I've had Pepper Lunch many times before, including Pepper Lunch in Japan. The original outlets in Japan are of course much better, but the HK ones are ok for a quick meal - exactly what I wanted before my evening classes. I finished my meal within 15 mins and still had time for desserts! Beef hot-plate rice with drinks or soup is only $39, bargain! Salmon Hot-Plate Rice set is $43, very cheap as well! The food comes out HOT and you pour your own sauces on the rice - as much and as many types as you want. A black pepper shaker was also available and it was very popular amongst all of the customers. Service was NOT good - most if not all of the servers looked like part-time students who kept "barking" at the customers and asked them to "Choose your Sauce"..... A "Copycat" hot plate pork rice shop was located next door but most of the customers only ate at this original Japanese shop.
Black Pepper Beef Rice $39 ok
Black Pepper Salmon Rice - ok
Choose your own sauce - Black Pepper, Honey

Last monday,,,i went to APM with my baby.. When we thinking what food should we eat,,,we smell so good at the food court.. It's the Pepper Lunch....so we just want to try this restaurant.. But there are lots of people in dinner time,,,we need to wait about 40minutes... we have tried '.... it's only $38....each,,,it's so cheap... The smell of the rice is good,,and it's hot enough for us to 'fried' the rice.. the beef is fresh and taste good...it's easy for chew at all.. and there are some sweet corns, vegetables on the side... we can mix it by ourselves and follow our favourite.... Moreover, it will provide some sources for us to mix it.. but only have three choices,,,if it can provide some more is better... Recommended Dish(es):

wasn't a beef consumer for myself. have tried this restaurants two times, one time i ate their shrimp rice, one time i smelled the beefy dishes. both were great experience. the smell was so so nice however do think their lunch is a better bargain if you wish to try, first becos it'll be quicker as everyone is rushing, second it seems that the lunch sets are cheaper. my bf tried the pepper beef rice and he likes it so much. looking at how he ate that plate of rice was so enjoyable as well. Do you guys know that the '霜降牛' in Pepper Lunch is actually FAKE 霜降? In the past when it first started, they advertised it as 霜降り加工 on the printed menu on both the Hong Kong and Sydney's versions - now they've re-edited it out again. I have the old menu to prove it! However on the Japan's external board menus, this wording of 霜降り加工 is still apparent, I just don't know why they edited it out from HK/Sydney's versions. That is why even though I liked Pepper Lunch before - I find it too fake. In fact, in Japanese 霜降り加工牛 is becoming very popular. You can buy it in some supermarkets as well like ITOYUKADO, also its served in popular restaurants like 六歌仙、温野菜、etc. In 六歌仙 in Shinjuku, they use this to pretend to be real Wagyu marbled beef there - beware! As someone has said before - if you order the higher grade 'Rib Eye' Steak, which is real beef, in fact that quality is not so good. It is still a bit chewy and tough. But if you order the fake, slightly cheaper 霜降り加工牛, it tastes wonderful, but only because the fat is artificially injected into the meat, also cutting open the sinews inside at same time to make it tender! It is suppose to be Australian lean beef. Also nowadays they have the Short Ribs. There is the normal version which is $68, which is not good at all, and CURRECNTLY the sales are promoting the US Prime Short Ribs, which costs additional and is $98 and a complete rip off - this one has 'natural marbling' yes but it is still very tough and only consists of a few pieces of meat, although it is very tasty due to the ribs part.... I tried this because I didn't want to try fake beef anymore, but this nature US Prime Short Ribs one is $20 more but too tough for chewing. Not recommended, so BEWARE! For their fried rices, I think its a bit too wet and overly sweet for my tastes, but I guess its not too bad and considering one can have fun with the chicken, salmon or beef, etc!
