Already came by here last time for a Buffet Tasting and here we are back again but mostly concentrating on the Black Truffle Theme Promotion - with a variety of dishes cooked with black truffles and pastes to enhance their aroma and flavour. ******************************
Part of the Perigord Black Truffle theme buffet which will last until March 2013. .
Hotel Nikko has a Japanese background and therefore their raw fish offerings are slightly higher than other buffets. I liked the Futomaki and the Salmon the best, followed by the Squid. .
.
Oden is a very typical Japanese wintery dish, and again with a Japanese background, this is probably the only Hotel Buffet in Hong Kong which offers such a great range of Oden items! Remember to get some Daikon and Mustards! .
The grilling was spot on but the liver wasn't as fatty as I thought, it could be better quality in my opinion and more oily tasty? .
This came with really crackly Skin and the meat was quite moist, really lovely. U can mix it with either a peppery sauce, a gravy or I borrowed the Truffle infused sauce from the Teppan section! .
This was a lovely fish dish. Would have eaten more if I had more quota! .
A later batch of these had more truffle and tasted better. 1 batch out of 3 we tried was slightly over-cooked. But since it's at a buffet, you can just go back and ask for a new batch to be made! .
Lemon Tart was nice. In fact the desserts across the board were a lot better than my last visit to here... .
4 Flavours were offered and these are apparently SOURCED from outside from a reputed macaron maker. They were surprisingly quite good with a lovely chewy crust and you can taste the filling inside too. We all ate a lot of there! ****************************** The price is around $468 per person. However if you download the Openrice Voucher and come with 4 or more persons between Mon to Thurs night - you will receive 25% Off the Bill! It's actually quite a decent price. Haven't been to nikko for a long time. Today went with collegues to try the lunch buffet. There are a lot of Japanese dishes for sure and I'm most impressed with the sashimi rice. They gave you salmon, tuna, egg, crab roe and a bunch of condiments to make your own rice! Everything is fresh and tasty. The hot dishes are limited but delicious. But they do have a congee and noodle counter and you can pick your own ingredients. I pick rice noodles with wonton and meatball which are quite nice. They have a lot of small desserts too so you can try a few more. Overall is good except it's a bit crowded. Recommended Dish(es):

.(試食 Buffet 篇) .
There is also 花膠 in there, and some of us had multiple servings of this! Collagen filled and very suitable for lady customers. For me personally (a guy), I like 佛跳牆 a lot! .
The Urchin was quite fresh! The cucumber jelly was refreshing underneath the urchin, but seemed slightly too strong to pair with the delicate urchin though! Oh well, I will just eat the Sea Urchin more .
The Snapper and Octopus were good. Salmon was half way between fatty and lean, which is suitable for most. Thought the tuna was a little too refrigerated and a little weak. But during Monday nights, they actually slice a new Big Eye tuna for buffet tasting, which the latter was much better in quality! The Sword Fish is quite oily, could do with a tataki or aburi style too ! .
These were quite fresh and plump. The sauce will do very well with the Fried Potato Wedges, available for unlimited refills!! .
These were also quite fresh surprisingly and not too lean despite the cooking shrinkage. Evenly gratinated! .
I added the base Soya based Udon bowl with some green spring onions, naruto fish cakes, topped with some fried tempura prawns and vegetables. Talk about お好み! This was quite good actually, encore. .
To be cooked in a Lobster bisque today, a sprinkle of sea salt really made this crustacean soup addictive, not to mention the good combination of crab, mantis shrimp and the fish pieces I did have. .
These were plump and bigger than the norm, filled with an abundance of roe and coral. ALL YOU CAN EAT, which is a big appeal. Eat more of them!! Get your money back !! .
The Short Ribs were the best logical cut, albeit they did over-cook it. .
This was decent rather than great... The meat quality was good but may be I expected fattier and beefier flavours? It was also slightly too cooked IMHO only ! .
The wedges were crisp, and the beef was cooked to a precise medium-rare level. ************************ By incorporating so many seafoods such as crab meat into their Various Dishes, one has to compare it directly the very price of the buffet . . Supplementary Information: This Canadian Themed Buffet dinner will be quite addictive and value for money.Recommended Dish(es):

To celebrate our anniversary, we decided to go back to the place which we had the wedding party many years ago!!! Didn't bring much expectation, just want to recall our memory, but it surprised us!!! Not too many choices of food, but more than enough for us to pick! Ox Tongue, so tender, couldn't stop myself to eat the 2nd round even I really want to spare some space for other food!! The lamb with red wine sauce, delicious, especially the sauce, I use it for the ox-tongue too, wow .... Sashimi, only 3 kinds, but fresh, especially the salmon. I like the sashimi rice bar, can make our own rice bowl with 8 different makings. Deserts are good, small dishes, you can try many different things ... Service is good, price good!! (with HSBC card discount) Conclusion .... will love to go again!!! Recommended Dish(es):

Today was more of a celebration. It was my cousin's announcement of her marriage with my future cousin in-law. My relatives and I arrived at the cafe at 6:30pm. We were told that we would be served with buffet-styled dinner. The cafe offered many different cuisines from all around the world. I really enjoyed the dinner. I took a walk to check out what was being servedd that night. My first stop was the salad bar. The bar offered many selections of FRESH salad. I chose the cesear salad with bacon bits and parmasan cheese. WOW!! It was a good start. cuisine. After that, I was hooked up with all the MEATS and seafood.. I selected prime ribs and lamb racks with Dijon mustard and mint jelly. The meats were cooked to perfection, they were medium rare. Honestly, I played safe. They both are premium type of meats, and so as long as they are not overcooked. It should be delicious and no surprises. With respect to seafood, I loved the baked oxyster with cheese. It was not spectacular, but was still very tasty. The dish was fresh, but the aroma from the cheese was not as strong as expected. The oxyster was the small kind, and of course it couldn't be compared with the ones in oxyster bars. The best had still yet to come. It was not really from the buffet menu. It was foie gras, and was specifically orderd by my lovely cousin. I should say this was the highlight of the night. The foie gras was pan fried and it was cooked very juicy and slightly raw. The flavor stayed in my mouth for a very long time. This was how foie gras should be cooked. Excellent!! 10/10. Other nice dishes would be: the sea bass, cooked sausages, the cold cuts, the soba and crepes with ice cream. Dislikes: I was surprised with the grades and the freshness of the sashimi. It was acceptable, but the quality was not consistant with every rounds served. The Ambience and the service was awesome. We ordered bottles of champagne, and house wines (red and white). They matched the food very well. Our waiter was nice. I asked for champagne, and it was kind of warm. He asked if I wanted some white wine instead. Exceptional service. The ambience was causal and yet it had elegant sided of it. and I think it would work well with romantic dining or business dining. Remote environment, the landscape is not good, is the bridge block. Traffic is not easy. The restaurant is located on the second floor, but the space is narrow and seems to be in the corridors displaying a handful of tables and chairs will be closely Ma Ma into a restaurant, people crowded. Service is only a general, first before the door a while seated after the closing discs slower, but not long enough (1200-0200) will automatically send the bill, I was surprised. However, the supplementary food was very fast speed. Gourmet food in general has been discussed before. Style much. Only the Japanese sashimi, salmon and tuna, the chef, but a surprisingly generous amount. Although the fresh Unfortunately, the corner bit more fish. Other frozen shrimps , mussels and oysters can also be baked cheese bar. Said first well of the dish. Curried beef (only a curry) very good, very fragrant anise flavor, accompanied by a pine aroma of pizza butter flavor Jingbu worse than the Indian restaurant! Noodles are excellent, and Japan did not eat a big difference. Another hot dirty Grilled onwards, also good fish fillets, mainly doing a more fragrant juice milky. other flavor dishes with sea bass in general, cattle Lei string, pig cartilage, duck breast, beef show, rice with soup (choice of various materials), oden (fish balls, hot dogs, etc.), tempura, chicken (cold plate), meat and salads. drinks are soft drinks, flavored ice, ginger tea, etc.. Desserts are tiramisu (too much cheese alcohol odor insufficient bottom of the cup water, actually a little almond flavor), ny cheesecake (I think not enough cheese), chocolate cake (rich, pure chocolate, a join walnut), caramel brûlée ( may be stored for too long, a little caramel smell), the Italian custard (more light, less than citysuper), drag the fat cake, raspberry cake, neither would not let me. In addition, there were several sections of fruit. Overall, the food selection is not that much, the quality of flat, expensive ingredients is lacking, no surprises, I wonder whether anti-try other restaurants in the same hotel. Fortunately, the Hang Seng Card Jiuzhe! Recommended Dish(es):

I almost forget this lovely breakfast during my 2 weeks HK trip. We came here becasuse of breakfast buffet and the Galleria for shopping luxuary goods. We took West Rail line to TST East and didn't choose Shagri-la or Regal because it were crowded by tourists in their entrance of lobby. Intercontinential may not be a good choice for us. Thus, my wife picked Nippon. Oh, I love Japanese breakfast buffet. It is absolutely funny experience for having japanese style congee or rice as breakfast with many pickles and japanese styled grilled salmon on it. When we arrived there, it was almost 9:45am, waitness reminded us that we have only 45 minutes before the buffet bar being closed. No problem! Varity is the most importance for me. There were 6 cereals, 2 milks, 4 kinds of juice, at least 10 types of fresh fruit. The salad bar is so big and I found the japanese seaweed salad which can be found in hotel in Japan. There were a big omlete bar and noodle in soup bar. You can choose the combination you want. Other western style breakfast food, such as turkey, sausage, fried eggs, crispy bacon, hash brown. My surprise was the cheese plate and olive bar. I wish I can have a glass of wine at that time. Another surprise was the crorisant. There was little toast oven. The coffee was "so-so" only but that was not important because the cheese plate was so attractive to me. After the closure of the breakfast buffet bar, we stayed in the dinning area for coffee and left at 11:45am. The environment was so quiet and only a few visitors. I love the environment. For those who want to meet your friend in the morning, this cafe is highly recommended. After that, my wife and I went to the Galleria for shopping. That was another surprise to me. Absolutely another luxuary department store. Even the price was not a surprise, the comfortable environment is as good as those in the downtown.

6 of us came here for lunch buffet yesterday. While the hotel's location is a bit far off from the rest of TST, it's definitely worth the walk to check the lunch buffet out. There was a good variety of hot dishes and dessert, to the point that all of us were stuffed at the end. We had enjoyed curry with rotti, satay sticks, sashimi (salmon, tuna, tilapia), soup (Chinese and western style), lamb, stir-fry mushroom, duck breast, roast pork, various kinds of noodles, as well as a lot of quality dessert (cakes, ice cream, sago). Original price is $185 and HSBC cards offer a 20% discount. There's also a promotion with those whose birthday is in July / August. In addition, for every diners, you get a complimentary coupon for weekend tea buffet. What a value buffet that Cafe Serena is offering! Recommended Dish(es):

Today I have buffet with my family here. WIth not much expectation, I suppose the food here are similar to other hotel's buffets. Even fewer choice for the foods. However, when I started to eat, I found that the food are in quality, for which I know that though there is not a wide range of choices, every dishes, from Sushi to dessert, are in such a good taste. I understood that they are concern on the quality but not the quantity. The service is also superior, with no complaint. This is a restaurant that worth me to recommand to you. Recommended Dish(es):

Went to have half buffet dinner at this restaurant with my parents ytd night, for main course i ordered a steak and starters n deserts are at buffet bar. The sushi n sashimi here is quite fresh n its slice thickness is just nice not bad, the potato salad is quite good too, lots of dressing and the potato is soft n chewy. The steak is very very bad, it has no meat taste at all and the meat is very stiff n dry. The dressing is has not much taste. The desert here has quite a lot of choices n the cheesecake is very nice, the texture is very thick and has very rich cheese taste not bad.... Poor main course.......

i went there about a year ago, i had an alsome experience, it made me love there so much... 1.I so enjoyed seafood by the chefs there, tasted so good 2.the salmon was really fresh, my cousin (a loyal customer of it) said its salmon came from Japan, seems day by day(forget, so not sure). anyway, its fresh salmon from Japan! 3.the pasta there was so delicious, especially those in red source!! 4.there provided strawberries as fresh fruit. The strawberries might not be in a super good quality, but its quite nice to find strawberries there and it did not taste really sour! And I really like the design and decoration there. However, when I returned in special days( Price at $600+), once again and once again, I felt so so so so diappointed! Strawberries mixed with scallop, it made me extremely unable to forget that dish, whenever it came to my mind, I decided to go buffet in the next store hotel instead of Nikko... That dish was quite disgusting, cuz the strawberries were quite sour, it didnt match scallop at all....to minimize the sour taste , it seemed they added jam into it Personally, I really love scallop and strawberries, but I would say that dish is one of the worst dishes in my life so far.... the most important thing is dishes on special days are not special at all, in fact, they are too wierd!
