Always enjoyed the sushi from this place (even though it focuses more on BBQ). Came here with family this time and tried different things. Overall it wasn't superb as it was anymore, but still good. Appetizer - egg rolls. 雞泡魚乾 - nice
- don't know whether I ordered the wrong thing, or they changed the dish. Wasn't really what I was expecting. - It was alright, but not as good as it was before.
the one i had before.
- pretty good - there was actually ox-tongue in the empty area.
- bad - wayyy too much sand in the clams - clams were quite small too
- it was alright. would be better if the flavour was stronger
- not that good. - the tempura batter wasn't good 野菜稻庭烏冬 - simple, but pretty nice and refreshing to eat with all the meat. Date of Visit: Aug 15, 2012 Other Ratings: Taste 4 | Environment 5 | Service 5 | Hygiene 5 | Value for Money 4

i thought i had to write this entry. this restaurant is a complete disappointment. ordered lamb chop, wagyu ox tongue (thick), korean bbq ribs(calbi), japaneese eggplant (way overpriced at $55 for 4 tiny pieces of what I couldn't distinguish as "japanese"), sashimi salad, tempura, stir-fried mushroom/asparagus, cod. they somehow managed to mess up ALL of these dishes. their meat was such a disgrace. the calbi barely had any taste and dipping sauce wasn't good either. lamb chop was nothing to write home about. cod was fishy and even something as simple as stir-fried vegetable wasn't up to par. sashimi in the salad wasn't fresh and was tasteless. lastly they had serious problem pacing the food. they should have brought the salad and tempura first then wait a little to bring out the meat and fish then vegetable. instead, the first that came was the eggplant and raw meat, then everything rushed to our table all of a sudden within 2 minutes including salad & tempura. service was not attentive. asked for fork and knives for the lamb chop but the waitress brought them to the table next to us. the guests were obviously confused at that table and as we indicated again we needed forks and knives the waitress took the knives and forks she already places on the other table and gave it to us all in all, i will never come back to this reataurant again Table Wait Time: 0 minute(s)

This is a place where you would go for a comfortable and spacious setting, preferring quality over quantity. Everything here is moderately portioned and have rather good quality. It's not cheap but not overpriced either. Had dinner for the first time here today, was quite impressed! On a Saturday night seems like every other restaurant in World Trade Centre is booked/full, but this restaurant is rather big and I guess it's more pricey so there are still space around 7 pm. The little 前菜 was refreshing. Small marinated eggplant. Other reviewers below have photos. We ordered: Very good dressing. A hint of wasabi but the dressing is not overpowering. Lots of fresh greens and cubes of tuna, salmon, squid and something else. Really enjoyed this salad. Dcent sized salads with some romaine leaves, shredded daikon/cucumbers/carrots with japanese balsamic vinaigrette lookalike on the side. Basically a brick of cold tofu with sauce topped with some salmon roe and sea urchin. Very fresh and refreshing. Not bad. I really liked the leeks after they are grilled. Could have given more asparagus. The pumpkin was really good. 6 reasonable sized pieces. A bit on the fat side, since I personally prefer leaner meats. Like the other reviewers said, their 稻庭烏冬 is quite 煙韌 and 彈牙. soup base is very well seasoned. Nice and hot. Yum. Staff service is quite good. Everyone's courteous and it's easy to get their attention. Other food selections - their menu is quite comprehensive, have a separate menu for sushi/sashimi/rolls, 6 choices of cold salads (as you can see from our food selections we are quite veggie obsessed, hence I would like to try the pumpkin salad next time which looks delicious in the photo), plenty of beef, pork, chicken and seafood for grilling, as well as a range of hot rice/noodles dishes to choose from. Also quite an extensive drinks menu. We ordered the above items and there were 3 of us. At the end of the meal it was just right, not too stuffed. P.S. Can someone teach me how to make the thumbs up and thumbs down icon in my post?? Recommended Dish(es):

a really disappointing experience friend and i arrived at 7.15 and was led to our table - a table right at the entrance, when 99% of the tables were empty...and there were food scraps all over my seat - EWW~! as there were only 2 of us, we ordered the assorted BBQ meat platter to save the hassle of deciding what to order in addition, we ordered: 1) stir fried mixed vegetable; and 2) goose liver sushi vegetable - came with a sizzling hot plate was super salty... goose liver sushi - the goose liver on the sushi was obviously overcooked and it felt as though i was eating pork liver....for $80, i think it is normal for anyone to have some kind of "expectation", Hip sushi on ground floor can make better goose liver sushi than them at half their price assorted platter - tasteless (no meat taste), chewing-gum liked frozen meat (definitely not due to lack of cooking skills), and they didn't smell good on the BBQ either, how can BBQ (any BBQ) not smell good AT ALL?? No one refilled my tea No one asked whether i wanted a second beer either Staff were busy chatting at the bar together with their supervisors/managers, they were so loud and you can barely enjoy your meal or talk to your friend, the managers/supervisors should have known better, yet, they were so busy chatting with the staff and going back to their friends' own table to continue their own chat... my friend is an easy-going person when it comes to dining out, but she also indicated that she will never go there again... just hope that one day, their staff/supervisors will chat the to their own senses as to why the restaurant is not performing good luck to the restaurant... MS BD (Non-member) | There are many disappointments ever since we made reseravation at Kiriyaki. My husband called and booked a room for people of 10, the staff had called my hubsand over 10 times to re-confirm the table. That's really annoying. If they don't trust us will show up, why can't they ask for deposit? But they didn't ask for deposit, just keep calling each day to confirm the table! We expect the Japanese 和牛 and Aus Wagyu Beef will be tender and no need to chew so hard to swallow. However, they are as HARD as CHEWING GUM and we need to chew for a long time to swallow them. The beef are so "UN", unbelievable bad quality. We have spent almost $6,000 for all the food, the most expensive dishes are the WORST among all as the beef are so " UN" (hard)... anyway, we will NEVER go there again, I think they have used a cheaper kind of beef instead of Japanese 和牛 and Aus Wagyu Beef. The beef texture is even worse than the standard Korean BBQ beef that we ate from other restaurants.
